Features
Overview: The Nikon 1 Nikkor VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6 lens is
a compact telephoto zoom lens, designed exclusively for Nikon 1 interchangeable lens format digital cameras, such
as the J3, J2, J1, V2, V1, and S1. The focal length is equivalent to an 27-270mm
in 35mm photography. It comes with the LC-N55 snap-on 55mm front lens cap,
and the LF-N1000 rear lens cap.
Retractable Lens Mechanism: The lens has a retractable
mechanism that makes the lens more compact. Before the lens is ready to use, you
must first press the zoom ring lock button and rotate the lens. The lens extends
approximately 5/8" to 2-1/2" when in use.
Optics: The 10-100mm lens has 19 elements in 12 groups,
including 3 aspherical lens elements, 2 ED lens elements, and HRI lens elements.
HRI stands for High Refractive Index lens. One HRI lens can compensate for both
field curvature and spherical aberrations that several normal glass elements can
offer. The 10-100mm is called an IF lens, as only the internal lens group shifts
during focusing.
Diaphragm: The lens is equipped with a rounded 7-blade
diaphragm to provide softly blurred backgrounds for portraits.
Vibration Reduction: The Nikon 1 VR 10-100mm lens has
built-in Vibration Reduction lens technology that improves image stability by
automatically compensating for camera shake. The lens shift action is performed
using voice coil motors (VCMs).
