Why install component speakers?

A component speaker system gives you the best possible performance from your car audio system. A system consists of separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers, each designed to cover one specific range of frequencies. As separate components, the woofer can move freely to deliver more powerful performance, while the tweeter can be custom-mounted in a better spot up closer to your ears, revealing a whole new world of detail. Separate crossovers are far superior to the simple filters wired into full-range speakers, so the components work together for smoother, more focused sound.

A custom sound system upgrade for your VW

Are you looking to upgrade the factory speakers in your 2010-up Volkswagen Golf or GTI, but aren't interested in making modifications to your vehicle to get better sound? Focal's IFVW Golf 6 system provides you with a huge improvement in sound quality by letting you replace the VW's front door tweeters and woofers with a set of custom speakers that fit right into the factory locations and plug into the existing wiring. Once these speakers are installed, you'll experience better clarity in vocals, punchier midrange, and more detailed bass lines — without having to cut new holes or run new wiring.

Includes most everything you need to complete the install

This package comes with almost everything you need to improve the sound in your car dramatically. You'll find a pair of 6-3/4" Polyglass woofers, each in a custom frame that mounts up to your door perfectly – no adapter needed. Focal mounted the two aluminum inverted dome tweeters in custom enclosures that snap right into your factory tweeter locations. Every speaker comes with a Volkswagen speaker plug connected, so they plug right into the factory speaker wiring. You'll also find most of the tools needed for the installation in the box.

Sounds great with factory power and even better with aftermarket power

Focal designed this set of speakers to deliver superb sound, even when powered by the factory radio. But this system handles up to 75 watts RMS, so an aftermarket car stereo or an external amplifier will make these speakers sound even better.  

Warning: You will need drill out the rivets that mount the factory speaker to the door, and then install new rivets. This kit contains the drill bit and rivets needed, but you will need a power drill and riveting pliers (available at your local hardware store).
