Prior to installing these, you barely heard the rear speakers but now you truly have the cab filled with clear sound. I also purchased the baffles for the speakers that are inexpensive but well worth it. I am still using the factory C/D player with digital encoder, so my expectations are low. The speaker baffles were installed with these speakers in the rear corner posts of a regular cab truck. All fit easily, couldn't fit any bigger speakers there. I would say a bit too much high end frequency response. (tinny) But have to accept a small speaker package due to tight installation area. I did install bigger units in the door panels that worked out well. I give a 4 because of low bass response. A big improvement from the original speakers, especially for THD at any volume including AM talk radio. The speakers look cheap with its stamped steel basket and I had concerns about distorting the basket as I tighened it in place of the factory 4 x 6. I am running these off an Apline CDA-9886 head unit. I would definatly recommed these as a replacement 4 x 6 speaker. They were much better than the Infinity's I bought for the rear. The sound is crisp just not qite as full as I would like, but then again there not 6 1/2" compent speakers either. Over all very good for the price. I am going to purchase the XTC 4"x6" Speaker Baffles to see if that helps bring out some midrange to warm the sound up a little. Was this review helpful? They are small enough to be crammed into the tight holes of older-model GM trucks, which is no easy feat using more effecient plate type speakers like the Polk Momo MMC460 which normally have larger magnets. Their size and marinized properties also make them ideal for installing on golf carts inside the storage bins. I used them first on just aftermarket h/u power (22 watts rms) and they aren't very pleasing. I then purchased an Alpine MRP-F250 (40 watts rms x 4) and they sounded great. They aren't the best of course but a good speaker nonetheless. I have owned these, Infinity Kappa plate 4" x 6"s and Polk Audio Momo plate 4" x 6" speakers. They have some midbass, and they have a tweeter which is always a good thing. IMO, if you're considering buying a pair of these speakers, pay $20 more on this site to upgrade to the Polk Audio Momo plate 4" X 6"s. Bought these to replace the rear speakers in my 2005 Chevy Silverado. Had to drill 1/8" holes for screws to mount, but other than that, installation was simple. Crutchfield is second to none in customer service, even sending detailed and pictured instructions on how to install in your specific vehicle. I won't buy auto sound from anyone else! The speakers sound amazing compared to the old ones. I bought these for my 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500HD to match the Polk db651 speakers I bought for the doors. The sound from the stock stereo is great now. Prior to installing these, you barely heard the rear speakers but now you truly have the cab filled with clear sound. I also purchased the baffles for the speakers that are inexpensive but well worth it. Same quality of sound sound and volume as Alpine S series I have in my other truck. 4x6 will fit in a Blazer if you shave the mounting hole about 1.8 inch around factory speaker plate location and only takes about 3 minutes per speaker. I am still using the factory C/D player with digital encoder, so my expectations are low. The speaker baffles were installed with these speakers in the rear corner posts of a regular cab truck. All fit easily, couldn't fit any bigger speakers there. I would say a bit too much high end frequency response. (tinny) But have to accept a small speaker package due to tight installation area. I did install bigger units in the door panels that worked out well. I give a 4 because of low bass response. A big improvement from the original speakers, especially for THD at any volume including AM talk radio. Big improvement over the original Delco dealies that were replaced. I gave these Polks 4 out 5 stars only because they're not super high-end speakers. But they're definitely worth the money, and are really a good value, in my opinion. Got 'em hooked up to an Alpine 9884. The speakers look cheap with its stamped steel basket and I had concerns about distorting the basket as I tighened it in place of the factory 4 x 6. I am running these off an Apline CDA-9886 head unit. I would definatly recommed these as a replacement 4 x 6 speaker. They were much better than the Infinity's I bought for the rear. The sound is crisp just not qite as full as I would like, but then again there not 6 1/2" compent speakers either. Over all very good for the price. I am going to purchase the XTC 4"x6" Speaker Baffles to see if that helps bring out some midrange to warm the sound up a little. Was this review helpful? Yes | No

They are small enough to be crammed into the tight holes of older-model GM trucks, which is no easy feat using more effecient plate type speakers like the Polk Momo MMC460 which normally have larger magnets. Their size and marinized properties also make them ideal for installing on golf carts inside the storage bins. 4 out of 5 Good Speaker Written By Matt, NC on Monday, June 02, 2008 These are a pretty decent pair of speakers. They are budget friendly, and are an easy way to upgrade your stock speakers. I used them first on just aftermarket h/u power (22 watts rms) and they aren't very pleasing. I then purchased an Alpine MRP-F250 (40 watts rms x 4) and they sounded great. They aren't the best of course but a good speaker nonetheless. I have owned these, Infinity Kappa plate 4" x 6"s and Polk Audio Momo plate 4" x 6" speakers. They have some midbass, and they have a tweeter which is always a good thing. IMO, if you're considering buying a pair of these speakers, pay $20 more on this site to upgrade to the Polk Audio Momo plate 4" X 6"s. These are better than the Kappas because the Kappas run at 2 ohms, which gives you more power, but a great deal more THD (total harmonic distortion). 40 out of 47 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
