Protect your home from intrusions with a LifeShield security system. Use this basic kit for homes up to 1,500 square feet. The system creates its own wireless network that monitors your doors and windows with easy-to-install sensors. It connects to a monitoring service via a broadband Internet connection. The kit includes everything you need to get started:

  • One base — connects to broadband Internet and monitoring service. And you can hook up your phone line as a backup connection.
  • One console — arms, disarms, and controls the security system, and acts as a speakerphone. Place it on a tabletop or mount it on the wall.
  • One handset — provides mobile control of the system and doubles as a cordless telephone.
  • Three wireless window/door sensors — monitor doors and windows.

Easy system setup
Setting up the wireless system is simple. The included sensors attach to windows or doors that you want to monitor. The base plugs directly into the wall for power and connects to the router in your home PC network for communication with the monitoring service (broadband Internet required). Mount the console on a wall near your front or back door, or place it on a counter in a commonly used hallway or room.

Flexible monitoring options
You can arm, disarm, and adjust the system using the handset, console, or any computer that's hooked up to the Internet. Use the online interface to set up an account and to keep tabs on the sensors in your home or business. You'll be able to see the time that your teen arrived home from school and disarmed the alarm, or check in on a vacation home from a few states away. Receive updates about your home's status via an email or a text message on your cell phone. You can keep tabs on a liquor cabinet — set that one sensor to notify you only, without tripping the alarm or alerting the monitoring service. In the event that the alarm is triggered, the monitoring service will contact you to determine the authenticity of the alarm and notify the local authorities.

Expansion possibilities
Add more sensors to monitor additional rooms in your home. Optional keychain remotes allow your children and other family members to control the alarm system. And since this system is wireless, moving it to a new home or apartment is easy — you just pick it up and take it with you.

Features

Overview: The LifeShield Home Security Essential Kit comes with a Base, Console, Handset with charger, and three window/door sensors. The LifeShield Essential Kit is designed for smaller homes, condos, and apartments approximately 1500 square feet or less. Additional sensors (713SN711LS, sold separately) and grid extenders (713GX711LS, sold separately) can be added to the system for additional coverage. The LifeShield Essential Security kit was designed to offer superior home and family protection in every way possible. While many professionally installed systems are built to have a single point of vulnerability (a single master control panel), LifeShield distributes the control points to several controllers, each a fully functioning mini-system that "talks" with each of the installed sensors. If one is disabled, the others still are working and your Home Security System active.

Note: Until you have activated your service ($29.99 or $19.99 per month) the LifeShield Home Security platform will have limited functionality. You will be able to install the system and use the 2.4GHz cordless phone features but no security functions will be active. Activate your system at www.LifeShield.com to activate Guardian Protection Service (5-diamond rated).

Monitoring Systems: LifeShield offers two monitoring systems - 24/7 Monitoring and Online Personal Monitoring.

  • 24/7 Monitoring: LifeShield's 24/7 monitoring service is run by Guardian Protection, America's largest private monitoring company. Guardian has been in the security business for 50 years and has America's most advanced, 5-diamond rated monitoring center with system redundancies in case of power failures. This 24/7 Home Security Monitoring Service requires a $29.99 per month subscription fee.
  • Online Personal Monitoring: LifeShield's "Personal Monitoring" service ($19.99 a month) lets you monitor your home and customize your system over the web, even on a compatible mobile device.

My LifeShield Web Interface: You can use the password protected MyLifeShield web interface to program your system, give your sensors easy-to-remember names (such as left den window), change entry and exit delays, as well as program the system to fit into your daily life. Most importantly, MyLifeShield sets up all your remote monitoring so that no matter where you are in the world, you can be connected to your home through your PC or MAC computer. With LifeShield, you can arm or disarm your system from anywhere in the world via a computer, and monitor any alerts. Your Home Network will need to meet the following system requirements to install the LifeShield Home Security system.

  • Broadband service
  • Broadband router with available Internet and Ethernet port
  • MAC or PC with access to Internet
  • Phone service (if not applicable, phone operation and backup communication will be limited or nonexistent)

Base: The Base Connects the LifeShield system to your Internet broadband connection, telephone back-up and other LifeShield system component creating a home security grid of protection. The Base features two front-panel LEDs which indicate when the system is alarmed and when the Handset is charging. The Base provides a door chime when a monitored door or window is opened.  The Base also acts as a charging station for the system's 2.4GHz wireless Handset. The Base is powered by standard household current using the supplied AC adapter and also features a rechargeable Lithium battery as back-up.

Console: The LifeShield console has a full-function keypad, speakerphone, and 3-Line LCD display. The Console functions as one of the Home Security grid controllers, sending and receiving data continuously with each of the installed sensors and with the supplied Handset. The Console features an 85 dB Siren which sounds if the alarm is triggered.  While the console acts as the security systems control center, it also acts as an information center, displaying up-to-the minute weather as well as severe weather alerts. The console also displays customized notifications on the easy-to-read screen, such as important reminders like birthdays and anniversaries, that you can easily program in via the MyLifeShield web interface. In addition, the Consol acts as a telephone/answering machine device with speaker-phone. The Console also has a built-in 2.4GHz  Digital Speaker Phone, digital answering system with up to 12 minutes of recording time, Caller ID /Call Waiting (subscription required), advanced phone book features (Store up to 99 Names, alphabetical search) and new message waiting indicator. It also functions as an intercom between Handsets. The Console comes supplied with a table-top stand so you can place the unit on a shelf or desk. The Console also comes supplied with a wall-plate which allows you to conveniently mount the unit to your wall. The Console operates off of standard household current and comes with an AC power supply which features an attached 58" DC cord. The Console also features a rechargeable Ni-MH battery for backup.

Note: The LifeShield Essential Home Security Kit will support up to 4 consoles.

Handset: The security system's handset which doubles as a cordless phone can be taken with you anywhere in your home, even the backyard, with the security controls and panic button always at hand. You can keep the handset in the Base's charger, or you can use the portable charging cradle to keep the handset by your bed, in your den, or even in the laundry-room. The handset is powered by a 3.V/1800mAh rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery and operates over a 2.4GHz frequency. While the LifeShield handset gives you full control over the home security system, it also is a full-featured cordless phone. The handset features a digital phonebook allowing storage of up to 99 names with alphabetical search, personalized ringers and global listings that can be accessed across all registered system phones. For homes containing multiple Handsets, each Handset can be personalized by creating a name and assigning one to each phone.  In emergency situations, a quick slide down of the clear panic cover provides access to EMS, 911, and Fire Rescue services. Not only does the phone function as a normal cordless phone, and contain advanced functionality, it is also intelligent enough to program and assign a name to each wireless sensor placed within the home. Other standard features include a digital answer system, Caller ID/Call Waiting (subscription required), Handset speakerphone, an intercom system between other Handsets (713HS711LS, sold separately) and Consoles (713CO711LS, sold separately) in the home, battery level and clock display, key lock, headset jack, new message waiting indicator and multiple ringer options.

Note: The LifeShield Essential Home Security Kit will support up to 6 handsets.

LifeShield Sensors: Easy to install LifeShield Sensors protect doors and windows by using two-way encrypted technology. Full perimeter protection is achieved by placing a small wireless Sensor on accessible doors and windows. When the system is armed and each Sensor is uniquely named, the system indicates which Sensor in the home was faulted. Sensors can also be used to protect other areas that you would like to monitor such as gun cabinets or interior doors. You can even use LifeShield's unique dashboard, My LifeShield to create notifications for Sensor activity that can be emailed to you or sent via text message to your mobile phone. All three of the included wireless window and door sensors are compact, yet very effective. Each Sensor is designed with a range of ten meters, and each uses a unique two-way design; sending signals to the grid extenders and then confirming reception. This two-way capability delivers even greater reliability along with an up to ten-year battery life. LifeShield sensors can each be set up in minutes by simply picking a spot on your window or door, affixing the sensor clip and adjacent magnet on the opposite surface, using the supplied handset to register the sensor, and snapping in the sensor. Each sensor is installed to your door or window using the supplied two-sided tape.

Note: The LifeShield Essential Home Security Kit will support up to 50 Sensors.

Optional Grid Extender: You can add additional Grid extenders (713GX711LS, sold separately) to the Essential Home Security Kit for added coverage. One Grid extender adds up to 1,000 feet of additional home security coverage. Grid extenders can be mounted up to 30 meters from the main base.

Dual Communication Paths: While many home security systems have only one communication path for professional monitoring, the LifeShield Essential Security System has two (broadband and telephone). So when there's an emergency, you have added assurance that the emergency alert will go to Guardian Protection Service monitoring center (once activated).

Multiple Panic Buttons: There is a panic button not only on the Console but also on the Handset, which can always be near you when you need it.

Home Connect: With LifeShield's unique Home Connect feature a second LifeShield system can be installed in your vacation home, parents home, or your office while you monitor and control it from your main home's LifeShield security system. Push the Home Connect button, and instantly your console is reading all the sensors in the other location. Go to the MyLifeShield web interface and you can look at activities and event history of the other location, arm or disarm remotely, even monitor everything you'd monitor within your own home, with the exact same level of confidence.
