Overview: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player features a
top-quality CD slot-load mechanism with an 8x over-sampling 24-bit
digital-to-analog converter. The M3 Series CD player offers excellent musical,
sonic, and technical performance. The CD player provides a virtually ruler-flat
frequency response with low distortion, low noise, and low jitter. Its sound is
smooth, dynamic, and inviting (without colorization). The Musical Fidelity M3
Series CD player includes both analog (RCA) and digital (optical/coaxial)
outputs. An IR remote control is included for wireless operation.
Note: The M3 Series CD player is designed to be partnered with the
Musical Fidelity M3 Series integrated amplifier (778M3IB,
sold separately). This combination yields high-fidelity, audiophile sound.
It can also be used with any home receiver or integrated amplifier which
features either an analog stereo (RCA) input or digital (optical/coaxial)

Rigid Chassis: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player
features an extruded metal front-panel, all metal chassis, and solid metal
control buttons to resist vibration and improve overall sound quality.
Slot-Load CD Mechanism: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player
features a slot-load (inhaler-type) single CD mechanism.
Note: If a CD is ejected but not removed, the disc will be retracted
back into the mechanism for safety after a few seconds.
Disc Compatibility: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player supports
playback of CD-Audio, and finalized CD-R or CD-RW discs (12cm only). Your home-recorded
CD-R/RW discs should be recorded using the CD-DA standard.
Note: This player is not compatible with MP3, WMA, or AAC
compressed audio files.
24-bit Delta-Sigma DAC: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD
player features a 24-bit Delta-Sigma digital-to-analog converter in dual
differential mode (with 8x over-sampling) for precise stereo imaging and low
noise. The M3 Series CD player provides a ruler-flat frequency response with low
noise, exceptional linearity, excellent stereo separation, ultra-low distortion,
and incredibly low jitter.
High-Tech Digital Stream Noise Filter: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series
CD player employs a unique high-tech, digital-stream noise filter which
contributes to its precise technical performance and musicality. This
proprietary filtering circuit gives immeasurably small jitter, noise, and
distortion artifacts - allowing astounding imaging, detail, and transparency. As
a result the M3 Series CD player delivers all music types exactly as the artist
originally intended.
Low Jitter (< 135 picoseconds): Jitter blurs the timing information of
reproduced audio signals between your digital audio source and your amplifier
resulting in degraded audio quality. The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player
virtually eliminates jitter by re-clocking the audio data from the compact disc
player to your amplifier. As a result, your music sounds warmer, precise, and
more realistic - without the harshness and distortion caused from jitter.
5 Independent Power Supplies: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player
uses 5 independent power supplies for reliable and consistent audio performance.
Choke Filtration: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player utilizes
choke filtration on its AC input to reduce unwanted AC noise for more consistent
performance and outstanding reliability.
Controls
LCD: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player features an front-panel
LCD which can display total number tracks, total disc time, track number, and/or
elapsed playing time. The unit's LCD has 3 brightness settings.
Remote Control: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player includes an
IR remote control for wireless operation of the player.
Playback Modes: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player offers Intro,
Repeat, Random, and Program playback functions.
- Intro: This feature plays the first 10 second of each track on a
disc.
- Repeat: You can repeat an entire disc or a selected track.
- A/B: This function allows you to repeat a specific section of
track.
- Random: You can play back tracks in random order.
- Program: Your can program the order of selected tracks (up to 30)
on a disc.
Search Functions: The Musical Fidelity M3 Series CD player offers
Skip, Search, and Direct playback functions.
- Direct: Using the remote's numeric keypad (0-9) you can select a
specific track for playback.
