Marine Digital Media Receiver
Digital Media Receiver: The Rockford Fosgate RFX3000 is a
hide-away AM/FM digital media receiver. The RFX3000 is perfect for when you want
tunes in your boat, but have limited space for an in-dash source unit. This
hide-away unit features an AM/FM stereo and Front/Rear/Sub RCA outputs to
connect external Rockford Fosgate amplifiers. There are also AUX, USB, and iPod
inputs to connect your external digital media. In addition, the RFX3000 is
Sirius Satellite Radio ready.
Hide-Away Box: The Rockford Fosgate RFX3000 is designed to
be mounted out of sight in a remote location of your boat. Choose your mounting
location carefully so that the unit will not interfere with the normal driving
functions of your boat. Avoid installing the unit where it would be subject to
high temperature, such as from direct sunlight or hot air; or where it would be
subject to dust, dirt or excessive vibration.
Note: Correct mounting positions include horizontal and
45-/90-degree facing upward.
Wired Remote Control
Required Wired Remote Control (sold separately):The Rockford
Fosgate RFX3000 hide-away AM/FM digital media receiver requires the purchase of
the Rockford Fosgate RFXMR5B wired remote
(575RFXMR5B,
sold separately) to operate the unit (The RFX3000 contains no controls on the unit
itself.) There are three proprietary remote control inputs to connect up to three
Rockford Fosgate marine wired remote controllers.
5-Pin Remote Control Input (2): The Rockford Fosgate RFX3000
features two proprietary 5-pin remote control inputs that allow you to connect
up to two Rockford Fosgate RFXMR5B wired remote controls. The RFXMR5BB
(575RXFMR5B, sold separately) is a marine wired remote controller for the
Rockford Fosgate RFX3000 hide-away AM/FM digital media receiver. This wired
marine controller features a water resistant 3-line LCD & has easy access push
buttons.
8-Pin Remote Control Input (1): The RFX3000 is fitted with
a proprietary 8-pin wired remote input that is compatible with
the following Rockford Fosgate's wired remote controls (all sold separately).
- RFXMR6 wire remote without display
- RFXMR3 wired remote with digital display
- RFXMR7 advanced wired remote with digital display
USB/iPod/AV Connectivity
USB Input: The Rockford Fosgate RFX3000 is equipped with a
rear-panel USB (type-A) port and
includes a 6' USB extension cable to connect a USB mass storage class device.
The unit supports USB (msc) devices that are formatted in FAT16/32 and contain
MP3 audio files. The unit provides audio playback, basic control,
song/artist display, and charging (via required remote control; sold separately).
- Search Functions: The RFX3000 offers several search
functions to help you find your music.
- Intro Scan: listen to the first 10 seconds of each
song a disc
- Seek: skip to the previous or next track
- Seek +/-10: skip ahead or backward 10 tracks
at a time for a faster search
- Playback Functions: The RFX3000 offers Normal, Random
(all/folder), and Repeat (all/folder/track) playback functions for your
connected USB device.
iPod Connect: The Rockford Fosgate RFX3000 features a rear-panel
proprietary iPod connector port and includes a proprietary iPod dock cable to connect most
iPods with dock connector. The RFX3000 supports audio playback, control,
song/artist display, and
charging of your iPod (via required remote; sold separately). The unit lets you search music for playback
from your iPod/iPhone by category (Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, or Genre). You
can then search each category alphabetically. You can also control the following
playback functions of your iPod/iPhone; Play/Pause, Next/Previous track, and
Random/Repeat. Your iPod's controls will be locked during connection. The
Rockford Fosgate RFX3000 is "Made for iPod/iPhone" compatible and supports the
following iPod model features (as of 3/13/2012):

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change
functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may
need to reset the unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If
this doesn't work, you may need to revert to the older software version or
wait until a newer software update is available.
Auxiliary Input: This unit features a rear mounted, stereo
RCA auxiliary input on a 6" pigtail so you can connect an external audio source.
Note: The optional auxiliary extension cable (020CCAUX,
sold separately) turns the unit's stereo RCA inputs into a single stereo
minijack (3.5mm) input. The auxiliary extension cable's 3.5mm connector
features a rubber-cap and can be flush mounted for a permanent and safe
installation in a marine environment.
Video Input/Output: The RFX3000 features a composite video input and
output to accept signal from an external video source and send it to a connected
external monitor (sold separately).
Optional USB/iPod/AUX Socket: You can connect Rockford Fosgate's RFX30
USB/iPod/Aux socket (575RFX30,
sold separately) to the Rockford Fosgate RFX3000 hide-away marine digital media
receiver to gain better access to the unit's USB, iPod, and Aux inputs for
easier connection and disconnection of your external digital media.
Radio Functions
AM/FM Tuner: The RFX3000 features a built-in AM/FM tuner
with U.S. and European tuning.
Tuning Modes: The built-in tuner offer 4 tuning modes; Seek,
Scan, Manual, and Preset.
Preset Tuning: The RFX3000 provides 3 FM bands and 2 AM
bands. Each AM/FM bank can hold up to 6 station presets, providing you with a
total of18 FM station presets and 12 AM station presets.
Radio Scan: The Radio Scan function pauses for 5 seconds on every
station detected by the AM/FM tuner.
Satellite Radio Ready: There are several options for
connecting an optional XM or SIRIUS Satellite Radio receiver to this receiver:
- Sirius Satellite Radio: To receive Sirius Satellite
Radio, you can connect the optional SC-C1 Sirius Connect Universal Vehicle
Tuner (607SCC1,
sold separately) directly to the unit's Sirius direct connection (no
proprietary interface required). You can also connect the Sirius
dock-and-play adapter (607SCVDOC1)
along with a compatible portable Sirius radio (all sold separately).
- Auxiliary Input: A portable XM or Sirius Satellite
Radio receiver can also be connected to the unit via the rear-panel
auxiliary input.
Note: A subscription is also required to receive
satellite radio programming from Sirius or XM.
Audio Section
MOSFET Amplifier: The RFX3000 is equipped with a MOSFET
amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification
circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less
distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder
and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the
amplification circuit.
- Full Bandwidth Power: 20 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4
ohms, 20-20kHz, 1% THD)
- Maximum Output Power: 40 watts x 4 channels
Bass & Treble: The Rockford Fosgate RFX3000 provides independent
Bass & Treble controls to tailor the unit's sound to your listening
preference.
3V/6Ch Preamp Outputs: The Rockford Fosgate RFX3000 is equipped with
three pair of 3-volt preamp outputs (Front/Rear/Sub). The front and rear speaker
preamp outputs are balance and fade adjustable. The subwoofer preamp output is
non-fading.
