This Kenwood P-WD250MRW marine bass package includes a water-resistant 10" subwoofer and a compact power amplifier. It's a combo that's sure to shape up the bass in your boat.

Kenwood's KFC-W250MRW 10" marine subwoofer combines a strong, waterproof polypropylene cone with a rubber surround that'll hold up to humidity and UV exposure. A tough white plastic shell protects the basket and magnet against corrosion, and the sub's integrated white plastic grille matches the interior of many boats. The sub's dual-voice coil design ensures you'll get maximum power out of the amp.

Kenwood designed this marine subwoofer for free-air use, so it'll produce great bass when mounted into a panel or bulkhead — no box required. Stainless steel mounting hardware is included.

The KAC-210MR marine amplifier packs plenty of power into a small package, thanks to Kenwood's engineering expertise. Special coated circuit boards ensure the amp will keep the power flowing even after prolonged exposure to dampness. You can connect the amplifier to any radio, and the amp's output is tailored to work perfectly with the subwoofer.

    Subwoofer Features

    Overview: This package includes a KFC-W250MRW dual voice coil marine subwoofer and a KAC-210MR mono amplifier designed for use with the subwoofer.

    UV and Water Resistant: The subwoofer features a UV-resistant white grille, waterproof pearl mica polypropylene cone, rubber surround, and stainless steel mounting hardware. The tinsel leads are coated and the speaker terminals are gold-plated to guard against corrosion. The amplifier has a special coated circuit board to protect it against the marine environment.

    Free-Air Subwoofer Design: The woofer is designed for mounting in an infinite baffle (free-air) application, so no enclosure is necessary.

    Vented Voice Coil: The subwoofer's vented voice coil allows air to circulate in the voice coil gap, helping dissipate heat, resulting in greater power handling and increased reliability.

    Subwoofer Mounting: The measurements in the Crutchfield database are taken without the grille. With the grille installed, the mounting height increases to 0.983" and the frame diameter increases to 10.766".

    Amp Features

    Matching Amplifier: The KAC-210MR mono amplifier is a special amplifier designed to handle the low impedance load of the subwoofer. The subwoofer has dual 1.5-ohm voice coils, and when connected in parallel to the amplifier, present a 0.75-ohm load to the amp.

    Fixed Input Sensitivity: The amp has a fixed input sensitivity of 60mV (0.06 volts). There is no gain control on the amplifier.

    Note: In order to control the volume of the subwoofer relative to the rest of the system, you will need a head unit with a variable volume control on the subwoofer preamp output, or an external remote level control (such as 136CLRLC).

    Low-pass Filter: The amplifier has a low-pass filter with a fixed cutoff frequency of 80Hz.

    I'm using this on a 23 foot inboard/outboard boat mounted in a prefab subwoofer box placed under the driver's seat. It is too loud. I recommend you have a fader for this subwoofer on your head unit or another electronic device to lower the sound bc the amp has no adjustments. It overpowers my four 6.5" speakers which are on a 65 Watt amp. Another option would be to place it inside a compartment. I have the subwoofer fader on the receiver turned all the way down and my front and rear up to get a respectable balance. Don't be fooled by that little amp. Your system needs an option to lower the output to this subwoofer amp or a way to enclose the amp inside a boat compartment...it is too loud. I never thought that would be a problem in an open air boat, but it is. The abscense of a gain control on the amp is the reason I did not give 5 stars.

    Picked this up for my Bayliner 197 deckboat. Great addition to the stock system. No need for anything bigger unless your going to replace your entire system with higher end head unit, speakers, etc.
    Pros:
    This sub sounds great! Unfortunately, the vibration it gives off causes my ladder and windshield to rattle. To alleviate that i picked up a universal "PAC LC1 Remote Amplifier Level Controller" off of another retailer to control the basis (RCA jacks). I would rather have bought it from Crutchfield.
    Cons:
    The speaker hardware is lightweight and designed for a thin fiberglass wall mount. My wall is 1/4" thick so i had to modify the hardware until i can find heavier stainless hardware. Be careful to not overtighten the screws or you will bend the mounting clip and have to improvise with something else. The hardware for the amp is not stainless.

    great addition to 50wx4 head unit

    This is a perfect addition to my pioneer supertuner running 4 speakers without an external amp. I was very impressed with the sound it puts out. I installed it under the boat's rear seat which is already shaped like a decent sized subwoofer box. I would recommend placing in any wood enclosure versus fiberglass or plastic since you can drill the screws right into the wood for a tight fit. I'm not sure how solid the sub would stay if installed somewhere else with the hardware that comes with it.
    Pros:
    Everything about it for this type of application
    Cons:
    Wouldn't want to mount it on anything that wouldn't take a wood screw or didn't form a solid box. If your system has an external amp this sub may not be enough for it.

    Adds full base to an average system! The installation was easy and the amp was easy to mount. You will need to adjust your current system settings to balance the new low end. I would also suggest some beefier hardware to mount the speaker. Sounds good and looks classy.
    Pros:
    Sound quality, one piece design, and dual voic coil.
    Cons:
    No amp adjustments and less than solid mounting hardware.

    Very pleased with the quality and sound of the bass package. Amp is extremely compact. However does a great job powering the 10" sub. Paired this up with the Kenwood kmr350u marine head unit and four 6.5" speakers. Wow! The marine bass package really makes the whole set up . Very pleased!
    Pros:
    Great sound, compact amp fits in small areas. Modern silver speaker grill looks fantastic. Installation manual makes for fool proof install.

    This was an excellent addition to my marine system. It fit nicely under the rear seat and added clear responsive bass to my system in my 20' Mariah bowrider. The price made it very affordable and definitely outperformed my expectations. I would highly recommend this package to anyone, especially to those looking to upgrade an average system on a budget. It has definitely turned some heads, even from those folks with much more expensive systems.

    I just installed two of these in a friend's cabin cruiser and they are amazing. When I first saw the amp and wires I feared the worst because they were so tiny. The amp is super small and the wires are simply standard 18 gauge, for both the power and the speaker leads. But with the super low impedance I guess it doesn't need to push a lot of current to get the power down the wire. When I installed them I was blown away. They hit very hard and very loud.

    The only potential negative for this product is that there are zero adjustments on the amps, including gain. If you don't have subwoofer gain control somewhere else, you're pretty much stuck matching volume by adjusting gain on another amp, or putting some sort of restrictor on the inputs. This wasn't a problem for this install, but I've done other installs where it would have been, so just be aware of the issue.

    Better than expected.......

    I was looking for something that was simple and reasonably priced and I found it. I have years of experience installing high-end components and custom stereos in cars and houses but didn't want to make a huge project out of the boat (yet!). The stock system consisted of a Clarion XMD3, 6 Clarion Marine speakers and small 1 Marine Audio (Clarion) amp.

    I ran 8 gauge power leads from the battery to power both the stock amp and the Kenwood sub amp. Both amps do not draw a lot of power. My main goal was to be able to remove the bass from the speakers and have it coming from one source (the subwoofer). This way I could turn up the speakers a bit and not worry about distortion and ultimately premature speaker death.

    I am very pleased with the system considering the cost. It will provide you with decent bass if you listen to rock & classic rock (as we do). If you are going to listen to rap or something much more "bass heavy" then you most likely won't be real happy.

    Installation note: The woofer is a dual voice coil and requires two sets of speaker leads from the amp. You will need to buy additional wires, connectors and such. I bought an RCA, speaker wiring, 8 gauge power wiring and the required connectors and it did not cost very much at all.

    Overall: Recommended!

    I was looking for a sub to install in the driver kick panel of my boat that still sounded great. This sub/amp combo really thumps. It really rivals some of the top subs that you'd install in a custom enclosure. If space is an issue, this is a great solution.

    I purchased this sub and amp combo. I was looking to add some depth to my boats sounds system. Installation was rather simple and straight forward. I ran into one small issue, called Crutchfileds tech line and they were 5 star service on helping me setup my radio to work best with my new sub & amp package.
    Overall, it filled in the sound very well. It has excellent bass while your in the boat and is very minor out side of the boat.
    This being my first sub and amp ever, I was a bit leary that it would blow from all day use. Not the case at all. We had this on for 10 hours the first day, zero problems and 8 hours the second day. No problems, great sound.
    I had shopped around and by far for the money this was the best deal.

    Although there are subs with better quality sound they aren't needed in the open cockpit of a boat. I installed this amp and sub combo in about an hour. The connections are simple and dummy proof. The only thing I don't like are the lack of adjustments on the amp. My system in the boat thumps loud now and I am happy with the sub and the amp.
