Features
Overview: The Altec Lansing FX4021 is a
2.1-channel powered speaker system for use with a DVD player, CD player, computer, or
game system.
Satellites: Each satellite speaker has a removable base. The
bases can be replaced by optional wall mount brackets available from the Altec
Lansing. The satellites are
magnetically shielded.
Subwoofer: The powered subwoofer features
two 5-1/4" long-throw drivers in an isobaric enclosure. The entire perimeter
around the top of the subwoofer is vented for bass output. The
amplifiers for the system are located in the subwoofer. The subwoofer is not
magnetically shielded so it should be placed at least two feet from a CRT
monitor of computer CPU.
SFX Technology: Sound Field
Xpander Technology delivers a wider stereo image for bigger sound.
Control Pod: A wired pod
keeps controls within easy reach. A rotary wheel adjusts volume, bass, and
treble. On/off buttons control power, loudness, and SFX. On the side of the pod
are two 3.5mm mini-jacks; one headphone output and one auxiliary input.
Note: If signals are fed to both the main and auxiliary inputs
simultaneously, they're both played through the speakers (not generally a
good thing).
Wireless Remote Control: The system features a wireless remote that
adjusts volume, bass, treble, loudness,
SFX, and stand-by (on/off). The remote also has a reset button which returns the tone controls
to the factory setting.
Subwoofer Connections: On the back of the subwoofer are RCA
outputs for both satellites, a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack
input, and a DIN plug for the wired control pod.
