Classic Klipsch sound that never goes out of style
I'll never forget the first time I heard the Klipsch Heresys. It was by sheer coincidence. A college housemate had shown up at the door with a pair of them that he'd brought from home. Even way back then their design was over 20 years old, and they looked more like antiques than audio gear to me. Confident that my own then-up-to-the-minute and highly rated bookshelf speakers were more than a match for these "elder statesmen," I invited my housemate to hook them up for a listening session (and a little lesson in humility, heh heh).
But I was the one who was taken to school that day. The instant we fired up the Heresys I was speechless. Their sparkling clarity and dynamic range were on a level that my speakers could never touch. All the musical details came pouring out loud and clear in ways I'd never heard before. And although I never told him, I was totally envious. Many years later I can't even remember Chris's last name, but I'll never forget the sound of those Heresys and the lasting impression they made on me.
A modern take on a time-honored design
Since that day long ago, Klipsch has tweaked and fine-tuned their classic design to create the Heresy III. A more powerful woofer, large-magnet titanium diaphragm tweeter, and new titanium diaphragm midrange compression driver all work together to give this speaker a thoroughly up-to-date sound. Klipsch also added dual speaker inputs to allow bi-wiring or bi-amping for even greater performance levels. And they increased the Heresey's already high-efficiency design by 3 dB to an impressive 99 dB — making them an excellent choice for low- and medium-powered tube amps.
Just about the only thing that hasn't changed is the quality. Klipsch still makes the Heresy one at a time by hand in Hope, Arkansas. Each speaker is available in a beautiful Cherry, Walnut, or Black Ash lacquered wood veneer finish, and includes an angled riser base for floor placement that can be removed for custom installations.
