Dual Voice Coils:
For increased system flexibility, the woofer has two 4 ohm voice coils. When the
voice coils are wired in parallel with each other, the woofer presents a 2 ohm
mono load. When the voice coils are wired in series with each other, the woofer
presents an 8 ohm mono load. In addition, each coil may be connected to a
different amplifier channel and each channel will see a 4 ohm load.
Matrix Diaphragm (C.M.M.D.): Infinity's C.M.M.D. technology eliminates
coloration due to cone breakup modes, dramatically reducing distortion.
Surround: The butyl rubber surround offers excellent cone-edge
suspension, important for high-excursion drivers.
5-way Binding Posts:
The gold-plated binding posts will accept pin connectors, spade connectors,
banana plugs, dual banana plugs, and up to 8 gauge bare wire. Before using
banana plugs, you must unscrew the binding post nuts and remove the plastic
plugs. After the plugs are removed, the binding post nuts can be reinstalled.
Compatibility: This woofer can provide extended bass in sealed, vented and
bandpass enclosures (please see the "Specifications" section for more
information on the recommended enclosures).
