Video: Panamax M5400-PM power line conditioner and voltage regulator
Martha from Panamax shows us the great features on the Panamax M5400-PM power line conditioner and voltage regulator, and how it's a vital part of a home entertainment system.
Hello. I'm Martha Brooke, regional sales manager for Panamax, and I'm at Crutchfield today. In this video, we'll be covering four key features of the top of the line PM series component , the M5400-PM.
First up is voltage regulation, or stabilization. In a home where the incoming voltage is moderately low, around the 110 volt range, electronics have to work extra hard to pump out the sound and picture we expect. Because of this, the life of these products can be dramatically shortened. The internal components are working overtime to compensate. Not to mention the performance isn't anywhere near what we would expect. Voltage stabilization solves those problems by always delivering the 120 volts your equipment was designed to use.
The second feature is power cleaning, or what we call "linear filtration." This eliminates common symptoms of dirty power that's coming out of your wall outlet. Those symptoms of dirty power include a huge loss of detail: pops, hums, hisses that severely compromise the performance of your audio and video gear, which in turn causes audio or video fatigue. You've experienced this if you've ever had a headache after watching TV or listening to music.
The third key feature in the M5400-PM is the isolated outlets across five independent outlet banks. These isolated banks prevent dirty power created by an A/V component from contaminating the power of an adjacent piece of equipment in the same system. Every pair of outlets is completely isolated from each other in the M5400-PM. It's like having a separate Panamax component per pair of devices, providing the ultimate in clean power for the best performance possible.
The last main feature of the M5400-PM is its high current outlets designed for equipment with larger current demands, like amplifiers and subwoofers. These high current outlets are part of the sequenced outlets and can be controlled with a twelve volt trigger or the front panel power button for ideal startup or shutdown. This guards against potentially damaging speaker thump by automatically powering outlets on and off in the proper sequence.
Each of the Panamax 5000 series components has one convenience outlet, a USB charging port, and an Ethernet connection up front for our gaming friends. And of course, every outlet on these component models features full surge protection and patented automatic over and under voltage auto reset protection. That means it'll shut down if there's too much or too little power, and it'll turn back on when the power returns to normal. All of the Panamax power management products will protect your system. The choice to be made is how much performance will you demand from your system. Call a Crutchfield advisor today for more information.
