Our take on the Kicker KM6000

Add great sound and crisp nautical style to your boat with Kicker's KM6000 6-1/2" marine speakers. These high-performance marine speakers are equipped with classic white grilles that'll complement your boat's interior. You needn't worry about how long they'll last — sealed motors, cones, and locking terminal covers keep the water out, while UV treatments on the cones, surrounds, baskets, and grilles prevent damage from the sun. Fresh water or salt, they'll sound great for years.

The speakers kick out impressive bass, as Kicker's MAXBasket Geometry packs an oversized woofer into a compact basket for an easy fit into tight bulkheads. Durable PEI film dome tweeters mounted in the grilles project highs that slice through ambient noise without straining.

Note: Kicker describes this model as a 6" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-1/2" speaker. For simplicity's sake, we list it as a 6-1/2" speaker.

Features

Marine-ready: The Kicker KM6000 Marine Coaxial Speakers are engineered to meet or exceed industry standards for environmental humidity and corrosion, and for material degradation due to UV exposure. The speakers feature sealed motors, cones, and stainless-steel terminals. UV treatments on the cones, surrounds, baskets, and grilles help them last in freshwater or saltwater environments.

Injection-molded Woofer Cone: The injection-molded polypropylene cones have excellent UV, pollution, and moisture resistance. For increased durability, the drivers use Santoprene surrounds.

Integrated Grilles: The KM6000s come with a water-resistant, bolt-through, high-impact plastic grille with the 0.5" PEI-domed tweeter permanently mounted in the center of the grille.

Note: The grilles are not designed to be removed because of the tweeter wiring.

Magnetic Shielding: The KM6000s are engineered with the highest level of magnetic shielding available, minimizing compass and gauge deviation in your dash.

Stainless Hardware: The provided hardware is forged from corrosion-proof 316L stainless steel.

Good for the money. Bought 6 of them. Put an amp behind them and you'll see for yourself they are exceptional speakers for the money.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just bought a pair of km6000 speakers and installed them on my new boat ....I never heard such bad distortion in my life, in less then 1/2 volume the sound went to complete distortion, and the magnetic shielding, as advertised, does not exist - my compass went nuts . I'm very dissatisfide in these speakers I would not recommend them to anyone.
