Features
Overview: The Sony CLM-V55 Clip-on LCD monitor allows you to easily
review the still images and video captured on your DSLR. This 5" portable
monitor features WVGA (800 x 480) resolution. This CLM-V55 bundle also includes
an NP-FM500H rechargeable battery pack and a BC-TRM battery charger.
Compatibility: The CLM-V55 works with most digital cameras that have
an HDMI output (with a Type C mini-HDMI connector).
Hood Shield: The monitor comes with an attachable three-sided hood to
shield the LCD screen from direct sunlight and the elements. The hood folds flat
for storage when not in use.
Headphone Jack: The CLM-V55 has a side-mounted 3.5mm headphone jack
that allows you to monitor audio levels when shooting video or listen to the
audio during playback.
Shoe Adapters: Included with the LCD monitor are two shoe adapters, an
accessory shoe and an auto-lock accessory shoe. You can select the shoe adapter
that best fits your camera. Either shoe adapters can tilt up
to 90° forward or backward and swivel 180° left or right for best viewing. The
monitor attaches to the shoe adapter via the tripod screw receptacle on the
bottom of the unit.
Controls: The monitor has a side-mounted rotary control dial for quick
adjustment of the monitor's settings. The menu includes the following
adjustments:
- Peaking: The monitor displays the entire image in black and white
with the focused parts in color to make it easier to see which parts are in
focus.
- Pixel Magnification: Magnifies the center of the image (800 x 480
pixels) and displays it pixel-by-pixel on the whole LCD screen. The higher
the image resolution, the smaller the magnified area.
- TV Display Area: The monitor displays a grid just inside the
angle of view to act as a rough guide to the shooting area. There are two
types of grid, 80% and 90%, for both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios.
- Volume: Adjusts the volume from 0 to 100 (default 30)
- Brightness: Adjusts the brightness from 0 to 100 (default 50)
- Contrast: Adjusts the contrast from 0 to 100 (default 50)
- Color-tone (Phase): Adjusts the hue from 0 to 100 (default 50)
- Backlight: Adjusts the brightness of the backlight from 0 to 5
(default 5)
- Color Temperature: Selects the color temperature and adjusts the
white balance of the screen: 9300K, 7200K, or 6500K (default 6500K)
Battery: The bundle includes the Sony NP-FM500H Info-Lithium M-series
battery and the BC-TRM battery charger. The monitor is also compatible with the
optional NP-QM71D and NP-QM91D batteries. The estimated battery life is as

Auto Dimmer: The monitor's Auto Dimmer feature will
dim the LCD's output after 60 seconds of non-use to conserve battery power.
AC Adapter: The CLM-V55 can be powered by household AC current by
using the optional Sony AC-PW10AM AC adapter (sold separately). The AC
adapter will not charge the battery.
Connection: The
CLM-V55 has a Type A (full size) HDMI input connector. A short HDMI-to-miniHDMI
cable is provided for connecting your camera to the monitor.
