Features

Overview: The enclosure is a two-piece unit consisting of a enclosure made of 5/8" MDF and a black plastic fascia. The fascia can be painted to match the interior of the '82-'92 Chevy Camaro, Pontiac Trans Am or Pontiac Firebird in which it is to be installed. Two rectangular, 2 1/2" tall black plastic riser blocks are attached to the bottom of the enclosure; the riser blocks will hold the bottom of the enclosure 2 1/2" off of the storage well floor (overall enclosure height including the riser blocks is 12 1/4"). The wooden portion of the enclosure is covered with medium gray/black box carpet. The plastic fascia is held in place by the same screws that hold the woofers place.

Input Terminals/Wiring: There are two sets of nickel-plated 5-way binding posts (with plastic wire retention nuts) mounted on the rear of the enclosure. The wires supplied to connect the terminal cups to the woofers are terminated at each end with 0.205" female quick slides.

Internal volume: 0.65 cu/ft internal volume per side. There is a divider that separates the air space of one woofer from the space of the second woofer.

Maximum speaker frame diameter: 12.227" (when grilles used); 12.377" (when grilles not used).

Installation: Run speaker wires from amplifier to enclosure. Place enclosure in rear storage well (between rear wheel wells), and permanently secure the enclosure to the vehicle (see note below). Place plastic fascia on box. Connect speaker wire between woofers and terminals. Place woofers on top of   fascia. Run screws through woofers, fascia, and into box. Press grills into fascia.

Note: For sonic and safety purposes, Ai Research recommends permanently securing the enclosure to the vehicle. No mounting brackets are included, so, to permanently attach the enclosure to the vehicle, a bracket kit (item 125B702KIT) will be needed or brackets and screws may be purchased from a hardware store. Bracket mounting requires drilling and screwing into the vehicle and enclosure.
