    Features

Product Overview: The Dual BTM60 Bluetooth module allows you to answer and place calls from your Bluetooth-enabled wireless phone through your Dual car stereo receiver. It works with Bluetooth Version 2.0 (v1.2 compliant), and communicates with most Bluetooth-enabled phones.

Profile Support: The BTM60 supports the following profiles:

    • Hands-Free Calling (HFP): You can make, receive or end phone calls using the module's "Talk" button or from the head unit. You can dial out using the head unit's front panel numbered buttons or from a listing of the last five phone calls that were received, dialed or missed. Incoming phone numbers will scroll across the head unit's display so you know who is calling and an audible ring tone will be heard through your vehicle's speakers. Using the BTM60's built-in noise and echo-canceling microphone allows you to carry on a mobile conversation through the vehicle's speakers without picking up your cell-phone.
    • Advanced Audio Distribution (A2DP): The BTM60 also supports A2DP wireless streaming music audio from your Bluetooth-enabled device, allowing you to listen to audio wireless from your Bluetooth compatible mobile phone or portable MP3 player.
    • Audio/Video Remote Control (AVRCP): You can control your wireless streaming music audio from the front panel of the head unit using AVRCP. The BTM60's wireless connection allows you to control certain playback functions (such as play, pause, skip, etc.) of your wireless streaming music audio player using controls from the head unit.

Note: All BTM60 HFP functions work with the iPhone (using iPhone FW version 1.0.2) with the exception of caller ID. When a call is being received, the head unit will display "Incoming Call". The iPhone does not support A2DP or AVRCP.

Receiver Compatibility: This module is compatible with the following Bluetooth-ready Dual receivers:

    • XDM6400
    • XDMA6700
    • XDMA6855
    • XDMA7715
    • XHD6425

Simple Installation: The BTM60 connects to the head unit through a single 8-pin plug to the back of the head unit. The 3-meter cable is routed along the A-pillar of the vehicle to the visor-mounted module.

    Dual BTM60 Bluetooth® Adapter

Written By Anonymous, Chino Hills , Ca on Tuesday, June 19, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far I am happy with this device. Since it was installed in an older vehicle it is doing what it is supposed to do for me. You do have to experiment with the volume and settings with the receiver. I found that you have to reset the functions for every different mode from the receiver,. The receiver saves the settings for every mode. Because of the distance from the receiver and the fact that the device look pretty cheesy on my visor, I relocated to a better location. That took a little time for the installation. for a DIYer no problem.
    Pros:
Works great with my cell. Perfect for a technical handicap like myself. Perfect for an older vehicle, pre ipod, mp3, hands free type devices that come with new vehicles.
    Cons:
The only problem is with the adhesive on the velcro. Came off in a day. Had to use 2 sided tape to keep it mounted. DIYer, not a big enough problem to sent back.

    Dual BTM60 Bluetooth® Adapter

Works great. Allows easy use of my iPhone with my radio. As soon as a call comes in, it mutes what ever the radio is playing, even if it is the iPod funtion of my iPhone. Also great that if I have the iPod on my iPhone playing through the radio on the truck and I turn the truck off, it stops playing the iPod as well.

    Dual Bluetooth adapter

Written By Malcolm S., Mt. Airy, MD on Friday, July 22, 2011
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just added this adapter to my Dual receiver a few minutes ago in my '03 Tundra. Installation was a pain but not because of the product, mostly the truck... The reason i give 4 stars instead of 5 is because it took almost 20 minutes and 6 tries to get the adapter paired and working correctly to my HTC EVO. Afterward though, it works great and sounds clear. Only complaint is when doing a test call to my friend she said there was a buzz on her end, which I'm assuming is interference from the engine. Without the difficulty pairing this would get a 5+ stars.

    Works okay

I wasn't overwhelmed with the bluetooth function on my Dual deck. It works well enough, but I'm told the sound to the person you're calling isn't great (like talking through a tube). It doesn't seem to pick up my phone like my previous bluetooth did unless I force it to. It doesn't have a flush bottom so mounting it on a flat surface doesn't look good. But it works

    Dual BTM60 Bluetooth® Adapter

Written By Todd, Michigan on Saturday, March 12, 2011
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I added this unit recently to my Dual radio that I have had for several years.
Sound quality through the radio is very good with both phone calls and
streamed music. Microphone pickup seems clear, but since I have not been
on the receiving side of my calls, I am saying that because no one has ever
complained or asked me to repeat myself for clarity.
Installation is easy but mounting is less than spectacular causing me to rate it
4 instead of 5 stars. The included clip is strong enough to hold it to a visor well,
but it is basically useless for any other location. A small piece of velcro is also
included, but it seems too small to hold anything, especially not this unit.
FYI, the Crutchfield listing of "What's in the box" is for a set of speakers and not
this unit at the time that I am writing this review.

Works with iPhone, iPad & Android

Written By JamieC, Melbourne, FL on Thursday, December 30, 2010

I was never sure this would work with the iPhone, especially for playing music. It works fine,
tested with iPhone 3G under iOS 4.2. Worked fine for iPod and Phone apps on iPhone.

    An incoming call
interrupted FM radio, as you would hope. It also worked for music with the iPad. Android 2.1
on HTC Eris played music from music player and Pandora. Audio was a bit faint on other
end of phone. Good sound quality. Remembers associations with up to 8 devices.

    Great little device

I am happy with this device, I didn't like the visor install so I clipped it to the console next to the seat, and have had no complaints with hearing me. The output is crystal clear through my radio.

    Dual BTM60 Bluetooth® Adapter

Written By Matt, Columbus, OH on Sunday, March 15, 2009
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My BTM60 works great. Like the one review said, it would be nice to have voice activated dialing, but, I still like it. I didn't like the install on my visor, so, I used the double faced tape and installed it on my dash near the radio. Overall, very happy with the product.

    Only half useful

Written By dreamfly5, San Francisco, CA on Thursday, November 27, 2008

One of the main purposes of a car Bluetooth device is to make a call. To safely make a call in the car, voice dial is a must. While the BTM60 claims (in their press release) voice dial capable, it is only half true. To initiate voice dial, you have to press a button on your phone, instead of on the BTM60. Thus if your phone is in your pocket, which most likely is key locked, you have to first fish it out, unlock the keys, then initiate voice dial. Only then can you speak to the BTM60 to dial out. All these actions required in order to make a call is really dangerous while driving. Now all other Bluetooth headsets that I own (including a 4yr old foreign country bought one) don't require you to do anything on the phone. A press on a headset button is all it takes.

Great addition to CD Player and Blackberry

Written By Nicholas, Charlotte, NC on Saturday, November 15, 2008
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I decided to step into the 20th century with the purchase of this Bluetooth adapter to compliment my Dual XHD6425. It exceeded my expectations! The installation was extremely easy and the call quality is great on both ends. The only minor issue is when I make a call, which is rare from the car, I have to hold in the mute button for 3 seconds to hang-up. When others call me and they hang-up the player automatically returns me to the playing mode it was in when the call was made whether that's in the middle of a track or the radio. I would definitely buy this product again!

    Works well

Written By Opus, Northern NJ on Wednesday, May 14, 2008
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The BT adapter works well with my XHD6425 head unit. Unfortunately, it is thick enough that it interferes with the visor, so it's not ideal. Also, it seems expensive for something that is just a microphone and a switch. Still, it is nice to have the integrated functionality - one button switches off the radio and sends the phone audio through the car's speakers. It also switches automatically when it senses an incoming call.

    Good Product

Written By Todd, Hemet, Ca on Monday, April 21, 2008
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The BTM60 is a great bluetooth device, i have installed it with the Dual
XDMA7715 receiver and the sound quality when streaming music is
excellent (near cd quality) The installation is simple and the unit is easy to
operate and pair with other devices. When using a cell phone the sound
quality is good, i have tested the unit when the car is parked and not
running and the sound quality is no different from talking directly on the cell
phone, when driving with the air conditioner on, the sound is somewhat
muffled, but still clear enough for others to hear you on the other end. The
main purpose for me with this unit was to stream music so i am very
pleased, i would recommend this product.

Good depending on what you drive

Written By Ryan, St. Louis, Mo. on Monday, March 24, 2008
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got my BTM60 to go
    in my Jeep and I
    think it was a bad
    idea. The receiver
    works great and it
    impresses everyone I
    show it too. But
    once I'm on the
    road, the road
    noise is
    so loud nobody can
    hear me. It's a pain
    to end a phone call
    because if you
    placed the call, you
    have to find and
    hold the mute button
    to hang up. Other
    than some problems
    controlling it and
    ending calls, it
    sounds good over my
    speakers and super
    easy to install. I
    did it in 5 minutes
    before supper. Maybe
    I'd like it better
    if I had a quieter
    vehicle, until now,
    I think it deserves
    4 stars.

Purchased the BTM60 to go with my dual Player and could not be more satisfied. Very easy to set up with my cingular 8125. Has crystal clear reception and those on the other end say the same. I can also stream music stored on phone to the stereo. Sure beats the prices advertised at the local audio sound shop. Thanks Crutchfield for a great product.

    Dual BTM60 Bluetooth® Adapter

Written By Ken, West Palm Beach, Fl. on Friday, February 08, 2008

I am very happy with the system. It is a great sounding system for the money. The only con I have is the buttons are a little small, so I use the remote almost exclusively. It was very easy to install with the information and install kit Crutchfield provided. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this system a 9.

It does what it is supposed to do. The mic/receiver is too thick to clip onto my visor. When I use the sun visor, if I push it down towards the windshield, it presses the receive button and puts the radio in phone mode. Annoying.
