Inputs and Outputs
Overview: The Visonik V318XT is
a mono high performance amplifier designed for powering your bass thumping
subwoofers and can deliver up to 500
watts x channel at 4ohm or 800 watts x 1 channel at 2ohm.
Gain Adjustment: This control
adjust the amplifier's input sensitivity to the output voltage of your receiver
to provide distortion free sound.
Bass Boost Switch: By using the
bass boost function, bass notes at 45 Hz are amplified in increments of 0-18dB.
Sub Sonic Filter: The amp
features a sub sonic filter that cuts out frequencies below 20 to 50Hz to your
speakers. These ultra-low frequencies that cannot be reproduced by some
subwoofers do not become sound but can become unnecessary oscillations, which
affect sound by causing distortion. By removing these frequencies you improve
the reproduction performance of your subwoofers and eliminate possible harmful
Line Level Output: The amp has
a set of stereo preamp outputs which allow you to send a signal to another amplifier,
Power/Speaker Terminals: This
amp has set-screw terminals for power, ground, remote turn-on, and speakers. The
power and ground terminals can accept up to 4-gauge wire. The remote turn-on
connection can accept up to a 10-gauge wire and
the speaker terminals can accept up to 8-gauge wire. Allen wrenches are supplied for tightening and loosening the set screws.
Crossover Control: You can
adjust the crossover for your chosen application between Low Pass or Full mode.
- LPF: Select the low pass
filter when using the amplifier to power subwoofers.
- Full: Select the Full mode
when using the amplifier to power full range speakers that can handle full
Low-Pass Crossover Adjustment: The
V318XT has an adjustable built-in 12dB/octave, 50-250Hz lowpass crossover. You
will want to adjust this setting depending on the subwoofer or subwoofers you
have chosen for your system when using this amp as a dedicated sub amp.
Power Indicator LED: This blue
LED will illuminate when the amplifier is turned "ON" so you can easily tell if
your amp is getting power.
Protection Circuits: The
amplifier has protection circuits that will shut down the amp in case it becomes
shorted, overloaded or overheated. The red "protection" LED will glow when the
amp is in "protection" mode, and the amplifier will not be operable until the
problem is corrected.
Note: This amplifier
temporarily will shut down if it gets too hot, then restarts automatically
once it cools.
Positive Battery Terminal: Due
to power requirements of the Amplifier, this connection should be made directly
to the positive terminal of the battery. An in-line fuse holder (not included)
should be installed as close to the battery's positive terminal as possible.
Ground Terminal: To avoid
unwanted ignition noise caused by ground loops, it is essential that the
amplifier be grounded to a clean, bare metal surface of the vehicle's chassis.
Remote Turn-On Input: This
connection allows the amplifier to turn "ON" remotely when the vehicle's head
unit is turned "ON". Connect this input to the remote turn-on wire of your head
Left Side of Amplifier:
RCA Input: This input is for
the audio signal cable from the output of your receiver.
- Stereo RCA Output This
output allows you to send an audio signal to another amplifier.
Right Side of Amplifier:
- Speaker: One pair of set screw terminals (will accept up to 8-gauge wire).
- Fuses: Two 25-amp blade fuse.
- +12V (Power): Set screw terminal (will accept up to 4-gauge wire).
- Remote: Set
screw terminal (will accept up to 10-gauge wire).
- GND (Ground): Set screw terminal (will accept up to 4-gauge wire).
