Our take on the Q-Customs Dual 8" Factory-Fit Subwoofer Enclosures

Designed to give you factory fit and finish plus great sound and durability, this Q-Customs enclosure by Q-Logic holds two 8" Type 1 subwoofers and fits under the passenger's side rear seat, without sacrificing any space. (Note: the bottom seat cushion will not fold over once this enclosure is mounted beneath it.)

The photo shows how well this enclosure integrates with the interior of your vehicle. It looks like original equipment, but gives you deep, pounding bass no factory sound system can touch. Internal volume is 0.35 cubic feet per woofer. Warranty: 1 year.

Important note: There is only one speaker input on this enclosure. It's intended to be used with a mono amplifier or an amp that's been bridged to mono operation. If your amplifier is only stable to 4 ohms when bridged, use two 8-ohm woofers wired in parallel.

Features

Compatibility: The enclosure is designed to fit under the passenger side rear seat in 1997-99 Ford F-150/F-250 extended cab trucks. The main body of the enclosure is made of particle board covered with medium gray box carpet. The plastic fascia is matched to Ford factory interior colors. Check the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to make sure the enclosure is compatible for your vehicle.

Recommended Woofers: This is a "Type 1" enclosure, made for use with drivers designed for small sealed enclosures. The internal volume is 0.7 cu/ft, and the woofers share the chamber--there is no divider separating the enclosure into two chambers.

Installation

Terminal Cup: There is a single terminal cup with two spring loaded binding posts, capable of accepting bare or tinned wire, pin connectors, banana plugs or dual banana plugs. The enclosure is meant to be used with a bridged or mono amplifier.

Note: It is recommended that two 8-ohm speakers, wired in parallel each other, should be used with this enclosure, to present a 4-ohm load to the terminal cup. Most amplifiers are stable to 4-ohms bridged. If two 4-ohm speakers, wired in parallel, are used, it may present too low an impedance for the amplifier and can cause damage.

Hardware: Six replacement bolts are provided to take the place of the original Ford factory passenger side rear seat hinge bolts (the Ford bolts are longer than necessary and, if not replaced, would damage the top of the enclosure). Sixteen 1" self-tapping screws are also provided for mounting the two woofers to the enclosure.

Seat Cushion: Once the enclosure is installed, the bottom seat cushion will no longer fold over.

Clean and Tight Bass

I'm so satisfied with this Product I decided to do a review on it and Crutchfield Service.. the bass is clean and tight just as exspected and you can not tell where it is coming from in the Truck the Bass just engulfs the whole soundstage so it makes for excellent Imaging I chose Polk Audio mm840's for subs as the Crutchfield Rep recommended and Im glad of that too.... everything was a breeze to install and the Box fits like a glove. I can not expess in words how happy I am with the Box and speakers. Now the second part the Crutchfield Service was awesome!!! The rep answered all my questions for me and knew the ins and outs of Car Audio I was Impressed and will buy again from Crutchfield. One other thing I liked was the Rep picked up the phone on the second ring no Machine!!! CAN YOU SAY OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Very nice, fits like a glove, great color match, good protection for the subs and gives a great sound, you won't be breaking windows but this baby will let you rock and groove to anything, I use two Pioneer Premier 8's that went right in and within a couple of minutes I was jammin, the box is also very secure and hasn't moved an inch since being slid in, Great job Q-Logic

Great sounding sub. I really like the way the enclosure looks like part of the interior of my truck. The only drawback is the selection of subs. I chose 2 sony subs and the mounting ring had to be modified to fit. The 2 rings overlapped each other. I ground off a little of the plastic and metal (which didn't affect the performance) and they went in fine. Keep this in mind if you get this box. Other than that I am extremely pleased with the looks and sound.
