All the advertising clearly shows one of the cables marked in red so that polarity can be clearly identified. However, the cable I received had no such marking, therefore I was greatly disappointed. The cable is adequate and seems strong. I can't understand how the pictured illustration shows the marked polarity on the cable, yet mine had none. Pros: Cable is strong and firm. I moved a while back, and left behind my good-quality speaker wire which was built in to the wall. I then bought speaker wire from well-known electronic chain. However, recently my speakers had been sounding very poorly, and I was thinking of replacing them (I thought they might have been damaged in the move), but I decided to try new wire first. When I removed the old cable, I noticed corrosion and that the small wires inside had started falling apart. When I stripped the insulation off the Audioquest wire, I immediately noticed a difference, even from when the chain-store wires were new. The Audioquest cable, like the other cables, are composed of a bundle of smaller wires inside a thick insulation. The internal wires in the Audioquest cable are organized and lie together so that it is easy to attach them to the contact. The chain-store wires were always kind of a mess. Also, the overall quality of the materials in the Audioquest cable looks and feels much higher.
