Features
Woofer: The TS-W255C features
an interlaced Aramid fiber-reinforced IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) cone
woofer. With long Aramid fibers interlacing together inside, this IMPP cone
design provides the strength and rigidity powerful bass sound requires. The
high-density, compressed internal architecture is resilient, stacks up against
high power and transfers sound very quickly. The result is full-bodied, rich
bass.
Magnet: The woofer has a dual
mass, high-power 74-ounce magnet.
Surround: The woofer has a
3-layer fiber-woven radial urethane surround.
Voice Coil: The woofer's
4-layer long voice coil design allows expanded piston motion for better
linearity and improved power handling. The 12-slit aluminum voice coil bobbin
helps to reduce voice coil heat and allows for stable bass reproduction and
reinforced power handling capability.
Extended Pole Yoke: The
extended pole yoke extends the magnetic field, greatly improving linearity
during large woofer excursions at high input levels.
Vented Pole Yoke: The vented
pole yoke allows air circulation in the magnetic circuitry to ensure better heat
dissipation.

Volume: The sealed box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.9
cu/ft to 1.1 cu/ft. Within this range, the ideal size recommended by Pioneer is
1.0 cu/ft, so this is the enclosure recommended by Crutchfield.
Vented Box Volume: The
vented box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.99 cu/ft to 1.21 cu/ft.
Within this range, the ideal size recommended by Pioneer is 1.1 cu/ft, so this
is the enclosure recommended by Crutchfield. One 3" diameter x 8" long
port should be used with a 1.1 cu/ft enclosure.
Single Reflex Bandpass Volume:
The bandpass box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 1.08 cu/ft to
1.32 cu/ft. Within this range, the ideal size recommended by Pioneer is 1.2
cu/ft, so this is the enclosure recommended by Crutchfield. The 1.2 cu/ft
enclosure should have a sealed chamber volume of 0.6 cu/ft and a vented chamber
volume of 0.6 cu/ft. One 3" diameter x 7" long port should be used
with a 1.2 cu/ft enclosure.
