This handy dock makes it easy to enjoy music from your iPod or iPhone with many Denon receivers and home theater systems. You can select songs and control playback using your Denon remote. Track information appears on the front panel of your receiver, and the dock can display a version of your iPod's menu on your TV for easier navigation.     Features

    Product Overview: The ASD-11R iPod dock provides an interface between compatible iPod digital media players and select Denon audio-video components and systems. Components with a dock control jack or mini components with a system connector are compatible. Once an iPod is docked in the ASD-11R, you can control it using the Denon unit's wireless remote control. The iPod's battery is charged when docked. The dock allows you to view digital photos and video stored on the iPod on your TV. All text information can be displayed on the Denon component's front panel display, and in many cases, your TV, when used with the dock control jack.

    Denon Compatibility: The ASD-11R is compatible with Denon receivers having the dock control jack and mini components having the system connector jack.

    Additional Compatibility: The ASD-11R can also be used with components not having the dock control or system connector jack. In this case the controls on the iPod are used, rather than a remote, and the text information cannot be displayed on a TV.

    iPod Compatibility: The ASD-11R is designed for use with select iPod models having a Dock Connector. Adaptors are included for the 4th generation 20, 30, 40, and 60 GB iPods and the iPod mini. The adaptors for the 5th generation iPods and up (including the nano) are included with the iPods. This add-on dock is "Made for iPod/iPhone compatible" and supports the following iPod model functions when used with a compatible Denon AV receiver (as of 9/27/2012):

    worked great for a couple of years, then it just stopped charging the Ipod and is completely useless! We replaced the i-pod, thought that was the problem, tried some fixes recommended and still nothing. Looked on-line and saw other people have experienced this same problem, I am looking for other alternatives as replacement.

    lasts a little over 2 years and stops charging

    I was somewhat concerned about some other reviews I had read about this product. But I must say that I am completed satisfied with its performance. It took an hour or so to hook it up to my Denon AVR-2307CI and my i-Pod Touch 16GB 4th Gen units but once it was connected it worked as advertised. Thank you to Crutchfield for the advice.

    Denon ASD-11R - It does what it advertises. I was forced to go with this item because my Denon 2312Ci does not "technically" support my old iPod video classic (80G) for USB connectivity. The price for this item may have been better applied to a newer iPod. If you own a newer iPod, this item is not needed, just use the native USB support. I have only used this item for music playback, have not tried video playback, however album art is not displayed when playing back music.
    Pros:
    Charges your old school iPod while playing. Allows USB type connectivity of older iPods.
    Cons:
    Album art is not displayed. Economic decision needed, may be better to just upgrade your iPod.

    This docking station was a great addition to my Home Entertainment system! It gave me every option that I wanted. I wanted the DENON docking station to accompany my DENON receiver and the two components came together beautifully. Once again the superior Customer Service and Support was the deciding factor to purchase from CRUTCHFIELD. I might have been able to buy this for a slightly lower price elsewhere; however, I'll always pay up for the SERVICE I get from Crutchfield, which is second to NONE.

    I got everything that I wanted.
    Cons:
    Can't think of any negatives, to be honest.

    I ordered this dock to allow access and control of my music library from my iPod Touch. I originally purchased an Apple dock, but could only access music. The disappointment is that the Denon receiver I have, an AVR-1911 will not allow control of the dock to access photos either, or even the whole spectrum of music control provided with the Apple. When I went to the Denon web site and clicked on "support" to see what I could do about it, I found that they do not even recognize the model number anymore, as if it never existed. It is the second Denon receiver I have purchased, and they have worked well, but I am sorely disappointed in the company, that they dropped support so quickly. I certainly won't buy another Denon product.

    The main reason I purchased this dock is because it matched my system that I purchase about a year ago. The connection for the dock was super simple and it does almost everything that I wanted. Most common Ipods are touch and they do not display video on a screen. So if I really want to get the best out of this docking station I will need to purchase a different MP3 player. Over all bang for the buck it was a good purchase.
    Pros:
    Easy to install, matches my equipment, the remote automatically connected with it, and charges my Ipod.
    Cons:
    Will not display on my TV. Very big bummer.

    Denon Dock

    OK, had the DLO, dont get it unless you like to widdle down you music on you Ipod to around 50meg or less. If it is more, it will no "sync" eventually the batter went out, but if you know what you are dealing with, its just OK. So, i was on the prowel for something better. Although the Denon Dock does not have the same memory issues, if you have a lot of songs on your Ipod, it will take forever to load. So, you can't find the songs you want easily, and basically the thing to do is what I do. I have several Ipods, and I just figure what I want to here through either the playlist, of just down loading specific artist. As my mood changes, so I change my songs. Plug and play then, and don't worry about changing songs.
    Pros:
    Accepts all your songs
    Cons:
    Finding a specific song, say when your friends drop by for wine, forget about it.

    THe Denon dock for the ipod provides little enhanced functionality, but at least allows one to charge the ipod. Such docks are becoming anachronistic as more receivers include Apple airplay software. In all it functioned, but for the price I expected better graphics.

    Well it doesnt work with an iphone if you have a case. Since it is designed to work with a denon receiver there is no remote. The nice thing about this is it has analog outputs. It does sound better than using RCA patch cables which is what I was doing. There are few options for an audiophile on a budget. For obvious reasons and dock that bypasses the internal audio processor and using the digital output connected to an DAC is best for sound but lets face it. Not everyone has a $1k to spend. RCA patch cables are cheap and they work. I use Pandora on a daily basis for 12 hours a day. This was the cheapest option besides buying higher priced rca patch cables. I cut out the bottom of the hole where an ipod would go and now it works with my iphone with case on.

    The sound is better but not a huge improvement. Granted it has only been a day so I have not yet noticed any marked improvements in sound quality.

    Well it does work for what I wanted it to do. It was relatively cheap, it does what I wanted it to do, be able to charge my phone and send music out in analog format so that it would work with my older analog 2 channel setup.

    Easy to connect, not as easy to use. I needed an hour with my Denon receiver's manual to understand how to operate. Minimal information is included with the dock's manual. Crutchfield's technical team wasn't of much assistance with this and just referred me to the manual. Eventually, I figured it out. The receiver's remote controls ALMOST everything but will not switch between genius playlists. Apart from that, I found that it accomplished what I needed.

    The Denon ASD11R is a good unit and it's nice to be able to use a remote to sift through my collections however, since you're relying on the two line display of the D-M38, you have to be fairly close to read what you're sifting through, so close you might as well use the receiver itself, it had the controls to do this. Also, browsing through your playlists isn't very easy, at least to me. However, once you find it and get it going, it plays very well and is easy to skip ahead or backward, pause, restart, whatever.

    But....again, if you're standing close enough to read the display, you could probably just hook up your i-pod by cable and then use the i-pod's controls to find the song/playlist you want. However, you would have to then go back to the unit each time you wanted to skip a song or replay it. The remote makes this a nice alternative.

    I would probably but it again but if it weren't available, it wouldn't be huge loss. I think this is over priced.

    Unit seems to do what it claims, although the directions for use are a little confusing.
    Most of the confusion is with the Denon AV unit directions for the remote. Use your best
    intuition and you can overcome the authors shortcomings.
