Driver Technology
Tightly Spaced Driver Placement: The Boston Acoustic RS 260
bookshelf loudspeaker utilizes tightly spaced driver placement, to allow the
speaker to deliver near-point-source sonic coherence, wide dispersion, and
accurate imaging.
Smart Tweeter Technology: The Boston Acoustic RS 260
bookshelf loudspeaker's 1.0" EWB (Extended Wide Bandwidth) tweeter features
special central diaphragm termination (creating a dimple) and a rear-venting
chamber to provide stabilized linear motion, lower distortion, improved
dispersion, higher power handling, and increased clarity.
Multi-Composite Woofer Cone: The Boston Acoustic RS 260
bookshelf loudspeaker incorporates a 6.5" Fiber Ceramic Copolymer Material (FCCM)
Woofer cone made from a composite of fiber and ceramic materials impregnated in
a proprietary copolymer. By combining these multi-composite cones with Boston's
Deep Channel Design (DCD), the woofer produces a smooth response over the entire
operating range. Deep Channel Design (DCD) provides more bass from less
amplifier power.
Enclosure Design
Bass Reflex Enclosure: The Boston Acoustic RS 260 bookshelf
loudspeaker features a bass-reflex cabinet with a rear-firing port for added
efficiency and bass response. The enclosure features an elegant, scratch
resistant high-gloss black lacquer finish.
Super Linear Plane (SLP) Baffle: The Boston Acoustic RS 260
bookshelf speaker features a Super Linear Plane (SLP) Baffle which offers a
smooth surface baffle with invisible hardware. The Super Linear Plane Baffle has
the ability to nearly eliminate acoustic diffraction.
Magnetic Grille: The Boston Acoustic RS 260 uses a
super-shallow grille with an invisible magnetic attachment to create an almost
entirely seamless alignment with the baffle plane to significantly reduce sonic
barriers. The magnetic super-shallow grille minimizes acoustical interference
for an improved soundstage.
Connections
Binding Posts: The bookshelf loudspeaker has two sets of
gold-plated binding posts connected by gold-plated jumpers. Using the dual
binding posts, you can bi-amp or bi-wire the speakers. The binding posts will
accept bare-wire, pin-connectors, and single banana-connectors.
Mounting Options
Mounting: The Boston Acoustic RS 260 can sit comfortably on
a shelf, stand, or tabletop using the supplied rubber feet. In addition, the
Boston Acoustic bookshelf loudspeaker features a rear-mounted 3/8"-16 threaded
insert for wall-mounting the speaker using an optional wall-mount bracket (sold
separately).
Video Shielded: The Boston Acoustic RS 260 offers MagnaGuard
video shielding so you can safely place the speaker next to your television
without distortion or interference.
