Sennheiser

Our take on the Sennheiser PX200-IIi

by Dave Bar

Want big sonic performance from lightweight, folding headphones? How about ones that work perfectly with your iPod® or iPhone®? Check out Sennheiser's versatile PX 200-IIi. These closed-back, on-ear 'phones provide welcome isolation from outside noise so you can enjoy superb, distraction-free sound. And Sennheiser created them in conjunction with Apple® to provide easy control of the music loaded on your iPhone, iPod, or even your iPad®.

Easy switching between calls and music
A three-button remote control built into the headphone cable lets you conveniently answer and end calls on your iPhone, control the volume of your calls or music, and pause, play, or skip through your songs. You can even take calls on your iPhone hands-free, thanks to an in-line microphone. The mic is specially designed to hone in on your voice so you won't have to worry about surrounding noises drowning you out.

The PX 200-IIi's steel reinforced headband ensures excellent durability. The soft leatherette padding and lightweight design means you can wear them comfortably for hours. And they fold up nice and compact for safe transport and easy storage.

Highlights:

  • on-the-ear, sealed earcups with steel-reinforced, padded headband
  • compact, folding design
  • in-line microphone and built-in 3-button remote control for use with iPod®, iPhone®, and iPad®
  • answer and end calls, turn the volume up and down, and control music playback

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works great. Built well and comfortable. A bit of a learning curve to "fold" them correctly for storage! Purchased them as I was getting inner ear issues off and on from my wonderful, perfect Etymotic hf3 earbuds. Prefer in ear buds but these headphones are great. I did a bit of research and was glad I did as I definitely wanted volume control and mic on the cord. I dont like having to pull my iPhone in and out of my purse/bag to adjust sound etc. You wont regret getting these.
    Pros:
    Comfortable and well built.
    Cons:
Would like more of a "differentiation" between sound/ volume/control/ pause buttons so one could "feel" them easier and feel/find the difference betw. them instead of guessing. Occas. I press vol. +or - and end up pausing it etc. The control buttons are so close.Or, that the mic/controls are placed just a bit lower on cord so one could see the control buttons. I would like a cord clip to attach cord to person so it (and the mic) doesnt swing around.

    Sennheiser PX200

Written By Joe, Philadelphia, PA on Sunday, January 29, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the Sennheiser headphones as a gift for my wife to use while on the treadmill. The headphones perform as advertised as in great sound and perfect for working out. I own a pair of Bose headphones and I was impressed with the Sennheiser quality for the price. Crutchfield service and follow up was terrific.
    Pros:
    Lightweight, over the ear
    Cons:
    none

    Great bass, great headphones

Written By KJ, New York, NY on Wednesday, July 06, 2011
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These were on back order for like 3 months. Finally, they come in and I called Crutchfield about my order that is being delivered. They tell me they got enough units to fill the back order, and then have 32 left on the shelves. I needed 25 more, so I instantly ordered the rest of them. We give them to staff at our office to use as a standard headphone for Skpe, Webex, phone calls, etc. Everyone loves them.
