External Device Controls
Features
Two-step, Motorized Display: The rotary knob, preset
buttons, and other control buttons reside on the outside of the faceplate. This unit also
has a DIN-sized display behind the faceplate. When the open button is pressed,
the motorized faceplate slides down to reveal the display. From the factory the
faceplate is semi-permanently attached but instructions are included for
converting it into a removable faceplate by removing two phillips-head screws. A
hard face case is supplied for projection of the removable face when detached.
Auxiliary Input: The DUAL XDMA7715 is equipped with rear-mounted, stereo RCA auxiliary input jacks on a
6" pigtail. If you aren't using the aux input, it can be turned off in the menu so
when you toggle through the sources aux doesn't appear.
iPlug: This unit features the iPlug, a 39" interface cable
with male RCA jacks that connect an iPod, or other auxiliary source, to the receiver's rear auxiliary input.
The iPlug has a dash-mountable 3.5mm female mini-jack that your portable device
plugs into and can be attached using
the supplied adhesive or self-tapping screws. The measurements of the iPlug
housing are 1.776" width, 0.794" height, and 1.997" depth.
CD Playback And Search Functions: The DUAL
XDMA7715 features a Single Track Repeat Mode, All Tracks Random Mode and a 10
Second Scan of each track on your CD disc. The unit also provides a high-speed
audible track search of your CD-audio disc in forward or reverse. In addition,
you can skip to the next or previous tracks on your CD.
Skip Protection: An internal
buffer provides ESP (electronic skip protection) to virtually eliminate
skipping. The unit also features a 3-beam laser pick up for dependable reading
of your CD discs.
MP3/WMA Playback: This unit can play MP3 and WMA
files that have been recorded with constant bit rate (MP3: 8-320 kbps/WMA:
32-192 kbps) or variable bit rate compression on CD-R and CD-RW discs. The disc
must be recorded using ISO 9660 level 1 or level 2, Yellow Book MODE 1 or,
Yellow Book MODE 2 FORM 1. In addition, this unit is compatible with ID3 Tag
version 1.x. Discs should be recorded with a maximum of 256 folders and files
and 8 folder levels.
MP3/WMA Search Modes: The preset buttons and other buttons
on the front panel can be used for entering
letters or numbers to assist you in locating specific MP3 or WMA files and
folders. The following search functions can be performed by this unit:
- Direct File Select: search
for specific file number
- Alphanumeric File/Folder
Search: search for file or folder names by entering alphanumeric
characters
- File/Folder Navigate:
search for all available files within a folder
MP3/WMA Playback Modes: The XMDA7715
features the following playback modes for your MP3/WMA files that are recorded
on a CD-R or CD-RW audio disc - File Repeat, Folder Repeat, Disc Random, Folder
Random, Disc Intro and Folder Intro.
AM/FM Tuner: The XDMA7715 features a
built-in AM/FM tuner with up to 18 FM and 12 AM station presets. The unit
features 3 FM bands and 2 AM bands that can store 6 presets each. In addition to
manually tuning your presets, the radio can also automatically store the six
strongest stations in the current band you have selected, which is very helpful
when traveling. Once your presets are stored you can use the unit's Preset Scan
feature to scan through the stored presets in a given band pausing for 5 seconds
for each station.
Preset EQ Curves: You can
choose from five preset curves: Pop, Jazz, Classic, Beat, and Rock. Any
adjustment to the bass or treble settings automatically cancels the current EQ
curve.
Bass And Treble: The unit's bass and
treble can independently be adjusted from -6 to +6.
Loudness: Activating the Loudness feature
will enhance the bass and treble frequencies when listening to music at low
volumes.
Source Audio Memory: Individual
bass and treble settings are retained in memory for AM, FM, CD, AUX, iPod and
Bluetooth modes.
3-Sets Of Preamp Outputs: The DUAL
XDMA7715 features Front, Rear and Subwoofer preamp outputs rated at 2-volts. The
unit's subwoofer preamp output level can be adjusted from 0 to +12.
Turn-on Volume: You can preset
the unit's volume when it is powered on. Each time the unit is turned on, the
volume is reset to the preset level regardless of the volume level when the unit
was last turned off.
Display Priority: You can set
the unit to a source display or time display priority. When set to source
display priority, the radio tuner frequency, CD track/elapsed time, selected
MP3/WMA information, or Aux display will be displayed by default. The clock can
be accessed temporarily when the Display button is pressed. When the time
display priority, the clock is displayed by default, while the source
information can be accessed temporarily with the Display button.
12/24 Hour Clock: When the
unit's radio tuning interval is set to USA spacing, the clock is displayed in a
12-hour format. If the unit is switched to European frequency spacing, the clock
switches to a 24-hour format.
Clock Display Note: Normally,
the display illuminates only when the unit is on. You can program it so the
clock is displayed when the unit is off. In this case the clock is displayed
when the ignition key is turned on. In order to see the clock display the face
must be open.
Wireless Remote: The XDMA7715 comes
supplied with an IR wireless remote control that operates playback, audio and
menu functions of the headunit. Dimensions: W = 1.846", L = 3.731", D = 0.749"
External Device Controls
Optional iPod Control: The XDMA7715 also
features a proprietary white plug on the rear panel of the unit which allows for
control of your iPod when connected with the optional DUAL IPC2M iPod cable
adapter (sold separately). The
IPC2M has a standard iPod dock connector on one end which plugs into your iPod,
and a proprietary 10-pin connector on the other end which plugs into the
XDMA7715. When used with the optional IPC2M cable the headunit supports the
following iPod models - iPod click-wheel 3rd Generation (version 2.3), iPod
color display 4th Generation (Version 3.1.1), iPod Photo (Version 1.2.1), iPod
Mini 1st/2nd Generation (Version 1.4.1), iPod video 5th Generation (Version
1.1.2), and iPod Nano 1st/2nd/3rd/4th Generation (Version 1.2.0) and iPod
classic (80/120/160GB). When connected to the XDMA7715 the cable provides the following
functionality:
- Command and control of all dock
connector-equipped iPods
- Menu driven access for easy control
of playback and search functions
- Displays all information,
including playlists, artists, albums
Note: The XDMA7715 and IPC2M will not charge the iPod
touch (2nd generation) or iPod nano (4th generation)
Optional Bluetooth Operation:
The XDMA7715 supports Bluetooth wireless hands-free calling (HFP), advanced
wireless audio distribution (A2DP), and wireless audio/video remote control
(AVRCP) when connected to the optional DUAL BTM60 Bluetooth module (sold
separately) and used with your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone or MP3 player. The
optional BTM60 adapter connects to the 8-pin plug on the rear of the headunit.
The unit can communicate with up to 8 Bluetooth devices.
- Hands-Free Calling (HFP):
When connected to the optional BTM60 adapter and used with your Bluetooth
enabled mobile phone, you can make, receive or end phone calls from
the XDMA7715. You can dial out using the unit's front panel numbered buttons
or from a listing of the last five phone calls from received, dialed or
missed call categories that are displayed on the unit's front display panel.
Incoming phone numbers will scroll across the unit's display so you know who
is calling and an audible ring tone will be heard through your vehicle's
speakers. The BTM60's built-in microphone and transfer of incoming audio
through your vehicle's speakers allow you to carry on a mobile conversation
without picking up your cell-phone.
- Advanced Audio Distribution (A2DP): The XDMA7715 also
supports A2DP wireless streaming music audio
from your Bluetooth enabled device when connected to the optional BTM60
allowing you to listen to audio wireless from your Bluetooth compatible
mobile phone or portable MP3 player. You can choose for the Bluetooth audio
to come through all of your vehicle's speakers or only your front speakers.
- Audio/Video Remote Control (AVRCP): In addition, you
can control your wireless streaming music
audio from the front panel of the XDMA7715 using AVRCP when connected to the
optional BTM60 Bluetooth adapter. The BTM60 adapter allows you to control
the following playback functions of your wireless streaming music audio from
the XDMA7715- Play, Pause, Stop, Next Skip, and Previous Skip.
