HD Radio: HD Radio technology, where available, offers higher quality
sound than conventional analog broadcasts and receives text data. HD Radio
provides FM broadcasts that are equal to CD sound quality and AM broadcasts that
are as good as analog FM stereo broadcasts. HD Radio also provides a variety of
data, including station name, song title, artist name, album name, etc. No
subscription fees required. To find HD Radio stations in your area, visit the HD Radio website
(hdradio.com).
Compatibility: The JVC KT-HD300 HD Radio Tuner connects
through JVC's proprietary J-Bus expansion port. The KT-HD300 is compatible with
2008 JVC HD Radio ready receivers. They include: KD-G340, KD-PDR80, KD-BT11,
KD-DV7400, KD-AV7100, KD-AVX44, KW-AVX710, KW-AVX810, KW-NX7000, KD-AR390,
KD-APD89, KD-ABT22, KW-ADV790 and KD-ADV49.
Note: The 12040UV44 Adapter cable is needed when connecting the
KT-HD300 to the KW-NX7000 and using the TMC feature. The 12040UV44 provides
incoming antenna connection to the KW-NX7000 and HT-HD300 simultaneously.
This cable is required to receive Real-Time Traffic update service when the
KT-HD300 HD Radio tuner is connected to the KW-NX7000 In-Dash Navigation
system.
Multicasting: In addition to conventional broadcasts, with HD Radio
broadcasting it is possible to choose from up to 8 multicast programs (HD1 to
HD8 and analog). There are also data programs for each program.
Display Information: The KT-HD300 HD Radio Tuner displays song title,
artist and station information on the display of your compatible JVC HD Radio
ready headunit.
Analog Broadcasts: In addition to HD AM/FM stations, the KT-HD300 can
also receive conventional analog AM/FM broadcasts.
Presets: The JVC HD Radio Tuner features 3 FM bands and 1 AM band
where you can store your HD and analog Am/FM station presets. You can store 6
stations in each band, giving you a total of 24 HD/analog station presets.
Installation: The KT-HD300 plugs into the J-Bus port on the back of a
compatible JVC HD Radio headunit. The antenna cable from the JVC headunit is
disconnected and plugs into the antenna port on the HD Radio tuner (a 5' antenna
extension cable is provided, if needed). The KT-HD300 also has a 58"
power/ground harness that needs to be hardwired to supply power to the unit and
to keep station memory presets. In addition, the HD Radio tuner features a J-Bus
pass-through port for connecting an external JVC compatible CD-changer, iPod
adapter or Bluetooth adapter.
