Personal Audiophile Loudspeaker: The Soundmatters foxLv2 is pocket-sized, personal music system that upgrades the listening experience from your smartphone, MP3 player, laptop, mobile gaming system, or portable/micro projector. The Soundmatters foxLv2 provides clear highs and smooth bass from a compact, self-powered speaker. The foxLv2 can be connected to your compatible audio source via a stereo minijack cable or Bluetooth (A2DP). The Soundmatters foxLv2 even features a built-in microphone for hands-free communication from your smartphone. The foxLv2 operates off of standard AC household current or battery power.

Digital Amplifiers: On-board amplification is supplied by four ultra high-efficiency digital amplifiers delivering a total power up to 8W @ < 0.1% THD (via AC power). The amplifiers are limited to 4W @ < 0.1% THD (via battery power).

Linear Magnetic Drive Twoofers: The Soundmatters foxLv2 employs two dual voice-coil 1" (25mm) Linear Magnetic Drive Twoofers (tweeter/woofer combination) that provide wide response with remarkable clarity. The foxLv2 is engineered around this pair of proprietary, highly sophisticated acoustic drivers, unique in their ability to reproduce both extreme high (tweeter) and low (woofer) frequencies from a single very small diameter 1" (25mm) dome speaker, dubbed the "Twoofer". The Twoofers incorporate soundmatter's Linear Magnetic Drive topology featuring field-focused, back-to-back, dual Extreme-Energy neodymium magnets and a 1-inch, dual voice coil.

BassBattery/Flatmagic: The foxLv2 pocket-sized, personal music system's dual digitally powered Twoofers are assisted in their task of reproducing low frequencies by a miniaturized version of the high mass "moving-wall" passive bass radiators found in Soundmatters' award-winning SUBstage home subwoofers. To add the additional bass driver, without compromising stringent weight and space restrictions, Soundmatters engineers developed an innovative solution, known as the "BassBattery". This patented design was created by rubber-encasing the unit's built-in high capacity, lithium-ion battery, enabling it to provide the mass for, and do double duty as, an acoustic suspension bass driver.  Moving the battery from the inside of the speaker to become part of a "moving-wall" radiator, frees up critical internal airspace to drive the bass.

"Skintight" DomeForward Enclosure: The Soundmatters foxLv2 incorporates high-tech glass-filled composite walls to form a "skintight" ultra-rigid totally sealed acoustic enclosure (often confused with metal, but much lighter for portability). Unlike other manufactures that mount their acoustic drivers in manner that actually obstructs the sound, especially if the listener is off-axis from the front of the speaker; the foxLv2 Twoofer speakers, are mounted "dome forward" from the enclosure, protected by a grille designed to maximize acoustic transparency.  Another reason why unlike typical small speakers, the foxLv2 sounds open and airy, almost regardless of its location.

Bluetooth Technology: The Soundmatters foxLv2 pocket-sized, personal music system offers Bluetooth music and hands-free capabilities. The foxLv2 automatically connects to your Bluetooth enabled device for instant wireless streaming from your smartphone or music player. Bluetooth wireless technology offers a 25-30' range.

• Music Streaming (A2DP): The Soundmatters foxLv2 features Bluetooth wireless A2DP stereo technology for audio streaming from your Bluetooth enabled smartphone, music player, or laptop. The foxLv2connects automatically and is optimized for maximum audio fidelity, including low distortion and minimal noise. This unit does not offer Bluetooth AVRCP (remote control).
• Hands-Free Communication (HFP): The foxLv2 features Bluetooth HFP wireless hands-free communication and provides a built-in "business-quality" microphone for speakerphone/conferencing calling. The built-in noise and echo canceling microphone circuitry, coupled with the Twoofers remarkable voice clarity, make the foxLv2 a superb choice for hands-free and conference call applications. When a call comes in while listening to music streamed via Bluetooth, the foxLv2 automatically switches so you'll hear and be able to speak to the caller. When the call is finished, your music returns. With a quick press of the unit's front Bluetooth button, you can even remotely reject, answer, or terminate a call.

Note: Not all Bluetooth enabled devices will be compatible, due to the differences in Bluetooth technology.

Apple Device Compatible: The foxLv2 is compatible with the iPad (1/2), iPhone (3G/3GS/4/4S), and iPod touch (2nd gen/3rd gen/4th gen) via Bluetooth and 3.5mm auxiliary connection.

Auxiliary Input: The Soundmatters foxLv2 is fitted with a 3.5mm stereo audio input for a hardwired connection of your smartphone, MP3 player, or laptop.

Subwoofer Output: The foxLv2 features a 3.5mm stereo audio output to connect a powered subwoofer for extra bass.

Fold-Out Stand: The foxLv2 pocket-sized, personal music system's protective grille doubles as a foldout speaker stand.

Anti-Slip Acoustic Mat: The Soundmatters foxLv2 includes a anti-slip, acoustic mat to help deaden any unwanted resonance.

Power Requirements: The Soundmatters foxLv2 pocket-sized, personal music system can be powered from using the included external AC power supply or the unit's integrated Lithium-ion battery.

• AC Power: The foxLv2 operates off of standard household current using the supplied AC power supply. The unit's output wattage doubles when powered via AC (up to 8W) vs. battery (up to 4W). A universal power travel adapter kit is included with 4 types of AC power adapter plugs (for US/Japan, Europe/China, UK/HK, and Australia)
• Battery Power: The foxLv2 also features an integrated rechargeable Lithium-ion battery that can last up to 5 hours on a full-charge, depending upon volume levels. The integrated Lithium-ion battery can be recharged via the included AC power supply or via USB, using the included USB charging cable.

Optional Carrying Case: The Soundmatters UK PRO TT10 travel case (602UKPRO10, sold separately) is designed specifically for the Soundmatters foxLv2 portable powered speaker. The travel case has just enough room to accommodate the Soundmatters foxLv2 portable powered speaker, its AC adapter (disassembled), and audio cable.
