About the Infinity Primus 250
Looking for big sound from a pair of tower speakers? The Primus 250 floor-standing speakers take advantage of Infinity's proprietary Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.™) driver technology to produce cleaner, more realistic sound even at high volumes. The M.M.D. material features a stiff aluminum core, which greatly reduces cone breakup that causes distortion. The 3/4" tweeter and dual 5-1/4" woofers can easily fill larger rooms with impressive stereo sound. They do a great job with home theater audio, too. With a pair of 250s as your front left and right speakers, movie soundtracks and special effects will play out loud and clear!
Infinity has outfitted the Primus 250 with 5-way binding posts for sure connections, and the speaker's solid construction cuts down on resonance. If you're looking for the unparalleled, high-impact performance of tower speakers, Infinity's 250s surely fit the bill.

Features
Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.): All of the speakers in the Primus Series feature Infinity's proprietary Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.) drivers. Derived from the C.M.M.D. material used in Infinity's flagship Prelude drivers, M.M.D. features a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for increased strength and rigidity. M.M.D. transducers deliver crystal-clear, distortion-free sound from dynamic digital sources, even at high listening levels.
Woofers: The dual 5-1/4" M.M.D. cone woofers conduct sound faster than paper, polypropylene and Kevlar found in many similarly-priced speakers, pushing unwanted resonances beyond the operating range of the transducer. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofers use a rubber surround.
Tweeters: The speaker utilizes a 3/4" M.M.D. dome tweeter and waveguide to deliver a wider, more even, high-frequency response.
Bass Reflex: There is a single port tube opening on the front of each speaker for increased and extended bass response.
5-Way Binding Posts: The gold-plated 5-way binding posts will accept pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, dual banana plugs and bare wire. Note: Plastic inserts must first be removed from the speaker terminals before connecting banana plugs or dual banana plugs.

These speakers are very good for somebody that wants an extremely versatile system. They can be used for background listening all the way up to audiophile listening. They are a good set of speakers and probably the best available for $400. I would recommend these to anybody.
