Our Product Research Team
At Crutchfield, you'll get detailed, accurate information that's hard to find elsewhere.
That's because we have our own in-house Product Research team — they open the box,
verify contents, check the owner's manual, and record dimensions, features and specs.
We stay on top of new products and technologies to help people make informed choices.

Features
Lightning Pulse:
The Power Acoustik Plasma Sphere TS1920-2 amplifier features a synchronized
lightning pulse display
on the top center of the unit. The lightning display pulses with the beat of the
music.
Power LED: The LED on the input side of the amplifier glows green when
the amp is on and red when one of the protection circuits turns the amp off.
MOSFET Power Supply: The
amplifier features a MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor
Field Effect Transistors) power supply, which has a higher switching speed than a bipolar
transistor and generates very little heat. MOSFETs offer fast response and high
efficiency.
Bass Level Remote Control: This
amp is equipped with a wired remote control which allows you to adjust the level
of the amplifier. The remote is designed to be mounted under the dash to allow
control from the driver's seat. The cable length is 19.5' and plugs into the amp
with its 3.5mm mini-plug. The remote has these dimensions: Width=2.248", Height=1.005", Depth=2.558"
(including knob).
Line Outputs: The TS1920-2
includes a pair of RCA line outputs for sending an unfiltered signal to another
amplifier or component without splitting the signal.
Protection
Circuits: This amp has three types of
protection circuits: Overload, short circuit and thermal protection. The
LED on the left side of the amplifier will glow red to indicate that the amplifier
is in the protect mode.
Built-In Crossover: This
amplifier includes a built-in variable crossover, high pass or low pass, with a slope of
18dB/octave. The crossover is continuously variable from 40-250Hz. There
is a switch which lets you choose between high pass, low pass, or full range
operation.
Inputs
and Outputs Notes
Terminal Strip: The power and ground
connections are on a terminal strip, each 0.53" wide. A minimum of 4 gauge power
and ground wire is recommended. The remote turn-on and speaker connections are
also a terminal strip, each 0.36" wide.
Wiring Recommendations
Wiring Recommendations:
The TS1920-2 is equipped with three 35-amp fuses, so its fuse rating (105-amps
total) exceeds that of typical 4 gauge wiring kits, which usually include a
60 or 80-amp fuse. For 105-amp fuse protection, an ANL wafer style fuse is required,
but none of the 4-gauge wiring kits include a ANL-style fuse holder. Since
pre-packaged 4 gauge amplifier wiring kits cannot be used alone, you may purchase
the necessary items separately, or you may use a pre-packaged 4 gauge wiring kit
along with a ANL-style fuse holder and a 150-amp ANL wafer fuse. If you do not
use a wiring kit with the necessary additional items, the separate parts and
wiring needed to install this amplifier are as follows:
- 1 ANL wafer-style fuse holder
capable of accepting 4 gauge wire
- One 150-amp ANL wafer fuse
- 2 power rings for 4 gauge cable
- 4 gauge power cable (to connect
the battery to a fuse holder and the fuse holder to the amplifier)
- 4 gauge ground cable
- Remote turn-on cable (speaker
wire can be used as remote turn-on cable)
- 1 pair stereo RCA patch cables (if
you're not using the speaker level input)
- Speaker wire
Warranty
Note
Warranty:
The manual indicates a 1 year parts and labor warranty if professionally
installed by an authorized dealer and 90 days if installed by the consumer,
however
Power Acoustik has extended the 1 year warranty to all Crutchfield customers.
