Features

Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA): DMA is JL Audio's proprietary method aimed at improving dynamic motor behavior. As a result of DMA optimization, W0v2 motors remain linear in motor force over a very long range of excursion, and also maintain a highly stable fixed magnetic field in the gap over a wide power range. The result is vastly reduced distortion, faithfully reproduced transients, and tight, clean, articulate bass.

Elevated Frame Cooling: The elevated frame design of the W0v2 delivers high-velocity air flow through slots directly above the top plate to the voice coil of the speaker. This not only enhances power handling, but also sound quality by minimizing dynamic parameter shifts and power compression.

Rear Gasket: The woofer has a rear gasket which provides an optimal seal when installing into the enclosure.

Long Excursion: The 10W0v2 subwoofer has 11.4mm of linear excursion, giving you louder bass with less distortion.

Enclosure Compatibility

Recommended Sealed Box Volume: The sealed box size recommended by JL Audio is 0.65 cu/ft. A diagram is provided in the owner's manual for a sealed box with external dimensions of 18" W x 11" H x 9" D, assuming 3/4" thick material. (If you are using 5/8" thick materials, you should subtract 1/4" from each dimension.)

Recommended Ported Box Volume: The ported box size recommended by JL Audio is 1.125 cu/ft. A diagram is provided in the owner's manual for a sealed box with external dimensions of 23" W x 12" H x 13.625" D, assuming 3/4" thick material. (If you are using 5/8" thick materials, you should subtract 1/4" from each dimension.) The box should be tuned to 30 Hz. A slot port is recommended with the following dimensions:

Slot Width=1.25"
Slot Height=10.5"
Slot Length=32" (a right angled port with a 18.25" extension)

Very good speaker for the lower budget or begginer audiophile

Just installed 2 10w0 in a 02' Dodge Ram 1500 QC. With a jl JX/250.1 turned
all the way up and i couldnt be happier. everything is aftermarket inside, and
the subs are the perfect addition. i never turn my alpine cda-105 past 15 on the
volume and the balance is perfect inside. my money was spent so i could
enjoy the music how the producer wanted us to hear it, not to beat the block
down. overall, great product.

These things bump

Have had these subs in my yukon since 2003 with the JL 500/1 and they are
great, so I bought another pair for my escalade. Hit nice for 10s. They have
spring loaded speaker wire terminals so they are very easy to hook up, don't
have to crimp or solder spade terminals on the wires. I have an under seat box
that does not have very much mounting depth, but these fit nicely with plenty of
room. I spent days looking at different subs, talked to friends and co-workers
for their opinions. There are just too many choices out there, so save yourself a
ton of time and get just get JL!!!

Good Value

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Put this in a custom box and hits nice and clean with a Boston Acoustics
GTA-400m amp driving it. Just the right amount of power to drive it clean. I
had a W1 before and I have to say I prefer that speaker for the extra bucks, but
I am not bummed on this speaker though thought I would try a lower end speaker.
I feel it's a better speaker for low base vs the W1 sounded cleaner for rock,
but it's 30% more. Mounting depth on this speaker is a deeper than the W1 so if
you have a shallow box go with the W1. Would I buy it again? No, however I
would go with the W1 instead, but I am not going to sell this speaker either, it
hits hard and clean for the price and out performs Kicker subs I have had in the
past, I am a JL believer with subs they make.

So far so good

Well i just bought two new w0v2 10's and hooked them up to an alpine mrp500 mono
amp. I havnt really turned the amp or bass up any yet because my adio guy said i had to
break the speakers in first...he said it will take bout 30-60 days. But so far JL hasnt let
me down. These spaekers hit hard and will shake your vehicle. I put them in my 99
chevy king cab in a custom sealed box under my seat and it works great. All i can say is
don't let anybody talk you into getting Fosgates. THANKS JL AUDIO!!!!!!!!!!

Have use JL subs in the past, but was still impressed with how well these entry level subs
performed. Put them in a Sealed Box with .76" cf of air space, and pushing them with a
150W JBL amp.
The kicker tones Kick for the Rock &Roll I like, and the Low Slow Bass does
just as good with all the new Hip-Hop songs my daughter listens to.
Highly recommend these subs !!

I bought 2 to go in a sealed enclosure in my truck. People ask me if i have 2 12"s or a 15"
sub hidden behind my seat. I have a 800w 1 channel amp powering them, and it's plenty.
These subs will go into just about any enclosure and sound good, not just loud. Their
counterpart, the 10w1v2, is just as versatile and powerful, and offers a cream colored
cone for aesthetics. I installed 2 of those in my girlfriend's 300zx, and they sound
amazing, even though they are in a sealed box that has less than 1cu.ft. of volume.
Great for any beginning audiophile.

Well first off I should say that free shipping really made this an awesome deal
and also it arrived just when they said it would!! This is my second time
ordering from Crutchfield and would not hesitate to do it again.
Now on to the sub. I have been a long time fan of JL and this 10" sounds great.
I connected this to a Kenwood KAC-5204 and bridged for a total of 150 watts rms.
The amp is about half way up and it is plenty loud and the bass is amazing. Also
should point out that i am using this in a ported enclosure.

Good job Crutchfield!!!

Great Sub !

This is my first 10 inch sub, i always been a fan of Kicker 12's, so i was kinda hesitant on buying this one. I went with JL Audio because of all the great reviews this brand gets. Got this sub in a sealed box hooked up to a Fosgate 250 Watt RMS Amp, NICE ! This speaker puts out loud clean tight bass and car mirror vibrating lows. The JL 10W0-sub went above my expectations. Great job JL Audio.

Awesome sub for the price

I got two of these for a small ported enclosure. I needed subs that were pretty shallow, but did not want to go with shallow mount subwoofers. These subs deliver! They are really good for that the fact that they don't require a LOT of power to make them hit. I have a Kicker 5 Channel amp, so I am only able to get 400 watts RMS in the sub channel. These subs are perfect for that amount of power.
Sound quality is great! For the price, you can't beat these. I had a pair of 10w3s being pushed by a 600 watt RMS amp and cannot tell any difference from the smaller amp and the lower model W0's. Get them, you won't be disappointed!

A very Solid Choice at this Price Range

Just got this sub to replace my good old 10w3 that has seen better days. I got this sub hoping that it would live up to my 10 year old 10w3 and it definitely does. First thing I noticed was that the speaker was a little lighter than my old 10w3 and that the 10w0v2 had a great build quality. The wiring post are high quality and make it easy to install. I popped it into my old box and hooked it to my 160w amp. The sound out of the 10w0v2 is very very clear and smooth and hits as hard has my old sub with this same amp. I can hear a lot of nuances in the bass that I wasn't hearing before. Compared to a friends system with two Infinity reference 10's this one speaker bumps quite a bit harder. This could be an enclosure issue though. I am extremely satisfied with this sub and would be hard pressed to switch brands at this point. My only suggestion is getting great box and if you are building your own like I did spend the extra money on some great wood. I personally use 13 ply birch to construct my speaker boxes. Follow the manufacturers airspace requirements and you should be as happy as i am now. Good job JL.

Slightly disappointed, but solid nonetheless.

Let me start off by saying that for the money, this sub "should" garner a SOLID four-star rating. However, with having said that, I can't give it any more than a solid three. Don't get me wrong, if you're on a budget and want some decent bass, get a couple of these and a 400 watt RMS amplifier, and you'll be in heaven. But, for $20 more, I think that the W1 series is heads and shoulders above the W0. Of course there will always be the endless "for a few bucks more you get..." scenarios, but I really feel that the $20 in this case will make you a LOT happier. So why did I go for a 10W0 you ask? Well, I'm getting older and I don't consider myself a "bass-head" anymore. I figured that a single 10W0 would fill in the lower-end of the musical spectrum wonderfully -- and it does, but it really just doesn't compare to my old 10W3.

Great Sounding Sub

I picked up 2 of these 10w0v2 subs in pro box wedge boxes for my 05
Tacoma double cab and are running them parallel wired for 2 ohms on a
Kicker ZX 300.1 amp. The subs sound great, they provide really good
punchy type bass. They will boom also when hit with the low notes, but I
typically listen to rock and was looking for a sub with clean accurate
sounding bass, and I found that in these. These subs do not require much
power either, in the owners manual there is a power reference chart
instead of the normal RMS the number rating. For example according to JL
the optimum power range for these subs while maintaining very low levels
of distortion is between 125-250 watts RMS, not to be mistaken for the
true power handling which is around 300 watts RMS but when you reach
the threshold of a subs power handling you will start getting distorted
sound. For the price these are well worth it.

Ahh yes the might JL W0. It's nice to see the company reincarnate the original JL bad boy. Keeping true to JL's original styling. Today companies try too hard to make tacky looking woofers. NOT JL! And thank God. This is a budget minded subwoofer with lots of technology packed into a nice all around package. At the age of 17 i started my system with 2 10 in JL W0's. Since then i've owned W0, W1, W6 and W7. 12in W7 is my all tie favorite but the 10w6 packed a lot of punch for a 10. I purchased the new W0V2 to put in my company ride. ( wanted some more punch in the company fleet car ) Hooked up to a 200 watt amp and the factory radio. Unfortunately the stock radio cuts out the bass the loader you turn up the volume. Regardless the W0 in a 1 cubic foot ported box sounds amazing. Probably would shake the car more if it had a better signal source. Don't expect big time slamming bass. Go with the W7 for that. But for some hard hitting bass at a low price go with this. You won't be sorry! JL for life!
