Marine Tested: The Clarion CMV1 Marine CD/DVD receiver has been engineered and tested for use in the harsh marine
environment. The receiver meets or exceeds ASTM B117 Salt/Fog Exposure and ASTM
D4329 UV Exposure standards. The CMV1 offers full IPX5 tested and certified
Water Intrusion protection. The faceplate features a unique rubber gasket and
door assembly offering the internal components complete water protection. The unit features a sealed stainless steel chassis,
a front panel rubber gasket and drip shield over the wire connections to keep
water from dripping onto the internal circuits, behind the faceplate and wire
connections. The receiver also features a HumiSeal coated PCB to protect against
corrosion. This means the main circuit boards feature a silicone coating to help
resist the effects of humidity.
Display Features
Oversized Fold Down Face: The CMV1
features an oversized watertight, fold-down face with a rubber surround so your CD/DVD-disc
stays protected behind the unit's marine rated face-plate. The front panel
mechanically folds down to load and eject your DVD or CDs.
3.5" LCD Monitor: The integrated 3.5" wide-screen (16:9) TFT color LCD
monitor allows easy viewing of a variety of digital audio/video sources. The
integrated LCD monitor features 112,320 pixels (480 x 234). You can adjust the
dimmer, brightness, color, contrast, and hue level of the LCD monitor. The 3.5"
LCD monitor can be set to any one of the following screen sizes.
- F.Wide: The image is expanded so that the rectangle of the image
fits to the screen (16:9).
- Wide: The image is expanded in the same way as F.Wide setting,
but the width will become narrower.
- Cinema: The image is expanded so that the top and bottom edges of
the image fit to the screen.
- Normal: The image is expanded so that the top and bottom edges of
the image fit to the screen, and that the aspect ratio of the image becomes
4:3.
Audio Section
CEA-2006 Compliant Amplifier:
The Clarion CMV1 amplifier section is rated at 17 Watts RMS x 4 channels in 4
ohms at 1% THD+N with a 77 dBA signal-to-noise ratio.
Bass and Treble Adjustment: The
Bass can be adjusted from -7 to +7 (+/-14dB), while the Treble can be
adjusted from -6 to +6 (+/-12dB).
BBE MP: BBE MP is a sound
enhancement and restoration function for compressed audio files. BBE MP improves
digitally compressed sound, such a MP3, by restoring and enhancing the harmonics
lost through compression. BBE MP works by regenerating harmonics from the source
material, effectively recovering warmth, detail and nuance. You can set this
function to High, Mid, Low, or Off.
3 Set of 2V Preouts: The CMV1 features
front, rear and subwoofer preamp outputs on a set of pigtails attached to the
rear chassis. The subwoofer output is non-fading and its output level can be
adjusted from -6 to +6. The subwoofer output does not contain a low-pass
crossover.
Radio Functions
AM/FM Tuner: The CMV1
features a built-in AM/FM tuner with U.S. and European tuning.
Tuning Modes: The built-in
tuner offer 3 tuning modes - Seek, Manual, and Preset. You can store up to 18 FM
preset station and 6 AM preset stations. Preset stations can be store manually
or automatically.
Satellite Radio Ready: There are several options for
connecting an optional satellite radio receiver to this receiver:
- XM Satellite Radio: To receive XM Satellite Radio
connect the optional CNP2000UCA XM Tuner and the CNP-CLA1 Clarion
adapter cable (package item number
700XMCLA2).
- SIRIUS Satellite Radio: To receive SIRIUS Satellite Radio
you can connect the optional SC-C1 SiriusConnect Universal Vehicle Tuner (607SCC1,
sold separately) directly to the CMV1 without any adapter interface.
Note: A
subscription is also required to receive satellite radio programming from
SIRIUS.
Disc Playback
Compatible Discs: The
Clarion CMV1 supports playback of DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-Audio,
CD-Text, and CD-R/RW discs. This unit also supports playback of MP3, WMA, AAC,
and DivX files recorded onto DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, and CD-R/RW discs.
- MP3/WMA/AAC Playback: The unit can
play MP3 (8-320 kbps), WMA (48-192 kbps), and AAC (16-320 kbps) audio files recorded onto
CD-R/RW discs using ISO9660 Level 1
or 2, Joliet, or Romeo formats. These audio files can also be recorded onto
DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs in UDF (Universal Disk Format) The player can recognize up to 8 hierarchical levels, up to 255 files per folder, and up 999 total files. This unit is compatible with, and will display MP3 and WMA ID3 tags.
- DivX Playback: The CMV1 can playback DivX movie files (4.x, 5.x,
6.x) recorded on a CD-R/WR, DVD-R/RW, or DVD+R/RW disc. The unit supports
DivX video frame sizes of 640 x 480 and 320 x 240 pixels (at 30 or 15 fps).
Auto
Reload: When a 12cm CD is ejected and left
sticking out of the CD slot for 15 seconds, the unit automatically reloads the
CD to protect if from damage. (8cm/3-1/2" CDs are not reloaded automatically)
Backup Eject: The Backup Eject
feature allows you to eject a disc even if the power to the unit is turned off.
Parental Control: This function allows cutting scenes that are
unfavorable for children or replacing them automatically with other scenes
prepared in advance. The unit offers an 8 level rating system protected by a
4-digit password.
USB/iPod Connectivity
USB Port: The Clarion CMV1
is equipped with a rear-panel USB type-A port attached to the chassis by a 39"
pigtail that is USB1.1 and USB 2.0 compatible. The CMV1 supports playback of MP3
(8-320 kbps), WMA (48-192 kbps), and AAC (16-320 kbps) audio files recorded in
FAT12/16/32 onto a USB mass storage device. It can recognize up to 512 folders
and 255 files per folder with 8 hierarchy levels. The CMV1 offers USB playback
functions such a Play/Pause, Fast Forward/Reverse, Skip (Track/Folder), Repeat
(Track/Folder), and Random (Folder/All) as well as a screen list of your
connected USB mass storage device's tracks and folders.
iPod Compatible: Select
iPods can be connected the CMV1 by using the connector cable supplied with your
iPod for audio playback. To view videos stored on your iPod, you will need an
optional CCA748 Clarion iPod adapter cable (020CCA748, sold separately). You can control your
connected iPod via the CMV1's controls or using the click-wheel/touch-screen on
your iPod. The Clarion CMV1 allows you to search your iPod's music and videos by
category, as well as offers playback functions such as Shuffle and Repeat. The
marine headunit will also charge your iPod while connected. The Clarion CMV1 is
"Made for iPod/iPhone" compatible and supports the following iPod/iPhone model
features when connected to the CCA748 iPod connector cable (as of Dec. 2009):

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates
may change functionality results. If you download a newer
software version, you may need to reset the headunit and
your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't
work, you may need to revert to the older software version
or wait until an newer software update is available.
AV Connections
Dual A/V Inputs: The Clarion CMV1 features two audio/video inputs
consisting of a composite video input and stereo RCA inputs. These two A/V
inputs allow you to connect external audio/video sources to the Clarion CMV1.
Dual Video Outputs: The CMV1 is equipped with two composite video
outputs for connecting two external rear video monitors (such as headrest or
overhead monitors). The dual video outputs can be set to display a Wide 16:9,
4:3 Pan & Scan, or 4:3 Letter Box image based on the type of monitor you have
connected.
Fixed Audio Output: The CMV1 is equipped with a set of Stereo RCA
outputs for transferring the audio of the unit to an external monitor with audio
inputs.
Bluetooth/Remote Control
Wireless Remote Control (Optional Wired Remote):
The CMV1 comes equipped with the RCB-201 wireless remote control. The unit is
also equipped with a rear mounted DIN connector to accommodate an
optional Clarion wired marine remote control. The MW1, a wired remote with an
LCD (020MW1), and the MW2 wired remote w/o LCD
(020MW2), are both compatible with the CMV1
receiver.
Bluetooth Ready: The CMV1 is compatible with Clarion's
BLT370 Bluetooth system (020BLT370,
sold separately) via its rear panel audio/video 1 input. The BLT370 gives you hands-free communication from your compatible
Bluetooth cellular phone and wireless streaming audio from any Bluetooth
compatible portable audio device.
Installation
Mounting: The CMV1 requires a
rectangular cutout in the bulkhead for inserting the chassis. Six screws
(supplied) fasten the faceplate against the mounting surface, and hold the
waterproof gasket against the bulkhead. A clear, self-adhesive template is
supplied to assist you with the cutout and drilling the screw holes. You can
install the unit within 30-degrees of horizontal.
Note:
The receiver does not include a mounting sleeve or ISO-mount screw holes to
accommodate standard automotive installation.
