Monster Cable's banana connectors feature 24k hard-gold contacts for maximum signal transfer and corrosion resistance. The nine leaf springs in the pin increase the contact pressure for a secure connection.     Degrade in a few years

    As the other reviewer mentioned....
    I had installed these on my surround speaker cables several years ago. I recently went
    to move the speakers and noticed that the rubber had decinitegrated and tore from just
    sitting there. No constant flexing, just from age. I would highly recommend stepping up
    to Monster's "quick lock self-crimping" bananas instead - well worth the small price
    increase but longer lasting quality.

    Cheap material = doesn't last long

    At firs, the rubber insulated connectors feel good at first, but, I have had them for a few years now, and the heat and/or age of the connectors have cause them to pretty much tear apart and deteriorate. They almost crumble to the touch and start falling apart.

    It still works, but they just look terrible. And for the price you pay for these, you would think they would last a lifetime.
