lacks bass

I purchase 4 of these for my 2005 F150. install was a snap with the supplied instructions and wire adaptors. The good...excellent mids and highs which was far superior to factory speakers. The bad..believe it not these speakers have less bass than the generic paper factory speakers...and i have an aftermarket high power head unit powering these new pioneer's, .so I was disappointed to say the least..

Great gear I was able to grab for my stock system right niw

Pros:

Everything fit in well, sounds muuuccchhhhh better than my old stock ones and still have room to go quality wise once I get my amp on them!!!

Cons:

Not related but a door release cup on a Taurus 1997 comes out after prying from the top, or it breaks as the door gets pulled on by a Guy who didn't see how to take it out!!

Bought these to go in the rear deck of a 2002 Grand Marquis. I am not a big fan of pioneer but based on the reviews and price I decided to try these and I'm glad I did. I was a little nervous about the install but with the provided instructions it was beyond simple and I was done in about 45 minutes. The speakers themselves sound great, better bass response than the $110 Infinity 6x8's installed in the front doors. I was actually shocked at the amount of bass these put out, it's not phenomenal by any means but it was much more than I was expecting. I would definitely recommend these to anyone, they have great and clear highs and the bass only gets "bouncy" on fast paced rock songs.

Nice fit, easy install. These do rattle when installed. One crutchfield rep seamed to believe baffles will help, but when i called back, new tech said find what is in the trunk, or dynamat the trunk. This is a 1999 escort,the dynamat would cost more than the value of the car.

These Pioneer TS-G6844R were mounted in the front doors of my 2002 Ford Ranger replacing factory speaker blown by my son. They provide outstanding sound quality with the new JVC Arsenal KDA735BT. I won't even compare them to factory sound, but I consider myself a low-budget audiophile and these speakers provide excellent sound reproduction. They have a nice balanced sound across the spectrum. Crutchfield has a great price on these great speakers too. Of course I mounted them with XTC 6x8 oval sound cups and put FatMat in the doors, but I would recommend a pair of these Pioneers anytime.

Exact fit and adapters & instructions were spot on. Hoping the sound warms up as it lacks bass depth ... somewhat muddy. However mid and upper range are awesome even with the stock head unit.

Sound Quality is Good!

I actually bought these speakers because when I listened to a bunch, I thought that had really good sounding mids, plus an all around good sound. They were cheap as well. I installed them in the back doors of my ranger with the baffles, some dynamat, and a little acoustic foam in a key spot inside the door. The speakers were a pain to install because the frames bend very easily. I found that the only way to avoid bending them is to carefully tighten all of the bolts evenly and slowly. One of the plastic rims came off also. I had to super-glue it back on. After that hassle, I finally got them tightened down and the doors plastics put back on. I was very surprised with a solid sound. These speakers don't drop very low, but I have a sub, that why I don't care how low they drop. I was actually able to lower my crossover point a little on the sub and speakers due to the upgrade, which I was really hoping for! The speakers are really solid to around 60 Hz where the sub picks up. I got the cheap ones because I won't hear the back speakers much anyway, but I am pleasantly surprised. Very clean, and warm sound. After I got all the bugs worked out, these speakers are great! I highly recommend the baffles and some dynamat. I tried with and without and I chose with.

Pros:

Good sound quality for the price as long as they are installed properly. Warm and clean sounding. Look stylish.

Cons:

Frames are not sturdy enough. One of them broke when installing.

This couldn't have been easier. The speakers brought new life into the car that the stock ones had never produced. I bought these because my passenger side speaker went out but after the ease of instillation and the help from curchfield i'm ready to replace the back ones too.

The speakers are exactly as reviewed. Only real siginifcant area of complaint is the bass response. The speakers are really not capable of significant bass.

Great speakers! Solid bass, very clear mids, sparkling highs. I listen to a variety of music and they sound good for everything. Kick drums seem to be "boxy" but not bothersome. There's bass in your face. Great price! Super easy installation with Crutchfield's included directions and wiring harnesses.

Inexpensive. Great sound and volume.

Cons:

May be a bit boxy in the low end but not bad.

2007 Ford Taurus; driver's side speaker was buzzing - sounded like people were speaking under water. Took a chance that the problem was the speaker, not the left channel of the stereo, and ordered a new speaker from Crutchfield. Ordered Tuesday afternoon, arrived via UPS Wednesday evening (with free shipping!). Very clear, easy-to-follow instructions how to remove the door panel (I'd already found a YouTube that showed me how). Wiring adapter fit perfectly, speakers went right in, no more gargling from the driver's side speaker.

Pros:

Fast, free shipping, excellent, easy installation instructions, good speakers - what's not to like? Nicely done!

Cons:

Not a thing.
