Audiobahn's AW1000Q High Excursion Series 10" subwoofer has the formula for hard-hitting bass — a non-pressed pulp cone that combines quick response and durability! You'll enjoy hard-pounding lows and still thrill to the intricacies of your music.

Got enough juice? Get an amp for your new sub Audiobahn's AW1000Q High Excursion Series 10" subwoofer has the formula for hard-hitting bass — a non-pressed pulp cone that combines quick response and durability! You'll enjoy hard-pounding lows and still thrill to the intricacies of your music.

A large 2" foam surround helps to provide a smooth woofer path for accuracy, while the 120 oz. double stacked magnets are designed to handle high power levels. The extended pole piece and oversized, vented back plate work to keep the subwoofer and your music free from distortion. The patented multi-connect lug lock terminals on this cast basket woofer ensure that your connection is secure, so your sound is uninterrupted.

The AW1000Q has dual voice coils that allow you versatility in wiring for high output or maximum efficiency, so you can set up your system to suit your preference. This sub works well in a sealed or ported enclosure.

Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for lower impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible. Most car amplifiers are stable down to 2 ohms in standard mode, or 4 ohms in bridged operation.

Features

Dual Voice Coils: For increased system flexibility, the woofer has two 4 ohm voice coils. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2 ohm load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents a 8 ohm load. In addition, each coil may be connected to a different amplifier channel and each channel will see a 4 ohm load.

Cast Basket: The dual voice coil woofers use a polished chrome aluminum cast basket. This ensures a perfect alignment on each and every woofer. Unlike stamped baskets, the cast basket cannot bend or tweak. Rigidity is important when trying to achieve strong bass and high SPL.

Poly Coated Cone: The cone material used is spruce pulp paper. This provides the necessary combination of weight and strength and allows high levels of output without cone failure. The cone is non-pressed and has a 2-layer poly coating, which increases the cone rigidity and lowers distortion.

Aluminum Voice Coil Former: The voice coil former is black, anodized aluminum for highly efficient thermal transfer. This allows winding high temperature copper wire in multiple layers for improved efficiency. This allows improved power handling by efficiently dissipating heat.

Extended Pole Piece: The pole piece has been extended to provide a more linear magnetic field for the operation of the woofer. This lowers distortion and provides the woofer with better low frequency response.

Vented Oversized Back Plate: The back plate has been stepped deeper to allow the woofer more excursion without bottoming out. This enables the speaker to be used in a smaller enclosure. Additionally, the back plate is vented with a radius aerodynamic back vent, which efficiently and quickly circulates cool air around the voice coil. This allows for more excursion and increased power handling.

4-layer Voice Coil: This 10" woofer has a 2.5" 4-layer voice coil.

2" Treated Foam Surround: The 2" treated foam surround is resistant to temperature variations and provides the consistent support necessary for the linear motion of the speaker cone. In addition, the inherent damping capabilities eliminate the transmission of sonic disturbances between the cone and the frame of the speaker. This greatly improves the clarity of the speaker's output.

Flat Spider: The speaker's linear compliance is balanced through the use of a flat spider design. A flat spider provides symmetrical control of the voice coil through its cone excursion. Linear cone excursion reduces harmonic distortion for improved sound quality. This allows for reduced mechanical distortion for better sound quality.

Chrome Finish: This subwoofer has a protective chrome finish.

Inverted Dust Cap: The use of an inverted dust cap serves to increase the cone rigidity and improve power handling by forcing more air through the voice coil. An added benefit is smooth frequency response.

Speaker Terminals: Each voice coil has inputs for bare wire up to 8 gauge. The wire is held in place by tightening Allen Head bolts using the included Allen wrench.

Enclosure Compatibility

Recommended Sealed Box Volume: Audiobahn recommends a sealed enclosure with an internal volume of 0.4 cu/ft to 0.95 cu/ft.

Recommended Ported Box Volume: Audiobahn recommends a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 1.632 cu/ft and one 3" diameter x 8" long port.

Power Handling Note

Power Handling: The woofer has two 4 ohm voice coils, and each coil can handle up to 300 watts RMS (600 watts peak).
