Nice box. Poor connections

Written By JoshN, Dallas, TX on Wednesday, August 29, 2012
Installed in a 2004 Toyota Tundra
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The box went in without too much fuss. It's a good, direct replacement for the factory storage area that has to be removed. My problems came when I tried to connect and power on my amp and sub. All connections were completed and checked and double checked and redone, but I couldn't get any sound out of the subs. Finally, after isolating every component and connection throughout the system, I determined that the wiring in the box was the problem. One of the terminal connectors wasn't actually touching the wire that it was connected to, so I had to replace that connector. Also, the wiring inside the box is extremely thin. There's no point in running 14-16 ga. wire to the box and then dropping to 22 ga. once you get inside of the box. I'm going to have to replace all of that also. Once it's finished it will be nice, but be aware of possible quality issues with the wiring.
Pros:
stealth, design, materials (other than wiring)
Cons:
wiring

Pretty good for the only option available

Written By Erich, Dallas, TX on Monday, February 04, 2008

It is the only stealth box out there (unless you have bucket seats- then go with the JL) but it is made of poor materials. The cheap and flimsy backing of this product does not produce amazing bass. It is good enough though. I had to drill out some of the plastic mounting holes that are supposed to align with the bolt holes vacated by the factory storage setup- so the production tolerances are not very tight. They use MDF board on JUST the baffle, so that is the only dense material used. The plastic used for the rest of the enclosure is thin- not dense at all, it feels like i could easily punch a hole through it and it would snap and crack like brittle plastic, one would think they would at least use something a little more pliable. In forums online there have even been reports of the plastic cracking with heavy and extended bass pounding. I put two Polk MOMO 8"s (200RMS each) with a 375 alpine mono sub. They do pound but my plan is: upgrade to a 450 or 500 RMS amp, and lay fiberglass inside the plastic tub to add density. I will keep ya'll posted on how this turns out. ALSO- it is completely not necessary to cut the carpet as directed in the instillation manual. You have an even more stock look by just leaving it in place, and placing speaker grills over the subs to protect the sub's suspension from rubbing the carpet after the seat is placed in it's down position. At first I thought it was all good but after checking the subs with the seat down (and no grills) I noticed some rubbing marks. So you can just get grills, or just slit the carpet about an inch into the two front corners so that it can fold under itself. You don't need the xtra trim ring supplied by Q- that way you can go back to stock if needed.

To sum it up- for the price Q-Logic should have better build tolerances, and create a more dense enclosure. It was easy to install.

Q-Customs Factory-fit Subwoofer Enclosures

Written By nathan, Cincinnati,Ohio on Thursday, May 17, 2007
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I decided on this box after talking with the best fabricators and installers in my area. none of them could come up with a better box without losing rear seating in my truck. I have to say that I am very pleased with the final product. I installed two P2 Rockford Fosgate 8's. Along with the MB Quart components and Punch Series Amps. The overall sound quality is excellent. I am used to having much larger woofers, but for what it is (two 8's) I am very pleased. I would recommend this product to anyone.

An affordable Solution

Written By alexrony, Atlanta,GA on Thursday, May 26, 2005

Q-logic has come up with the only solution to add a sub without robbin the already cramp rear interior space of the truck.Just keep in mind that you are using two 8" woofers and the sound performance is limited. 8" woofers have never been the most efficient and accurate solution for performance bass. But if you need better sound it is the only way to go! Installation is simple and precise. Q-logic is a reputable brand and I will recommend it to anybody,I have use their products in different applications and I am very satisfy

Excellent Bass Enclosure

Written By Lpfont, Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, April 21, 2005
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This box is Amazing. The quality is Excellent. I installed this box myself and ended up with a Custom Factory Fit just like the name says. It fit perfectly and it is Totally Stealth.

I purchased this box, Two Fosgate Punch (Stage 1) 8" Woofers and a 150 Watt RMS 2-Channel Amp at the same time and received 10% off. This combination is a perfect match. The Bass from this box sounds like it has Woofers much Larger than 8". Adding this box to my stock radio and speakers has made the sound in my truck Awesome, and for a low cost. I have seen people spend a lot more money on other subwoofer systems and they don't get the Solid Tight Bass like this Q-Logic. They also don't get the Invisible look either.

Thank You Q-Logic for making this Enclosure, it is worth every penny I paid for it.
