Excellent imaging

The Access 165CA1 SG 6-3/4" speakers feature stiff, woven glass-fiber woofer cones for precise mid-bass sounds. Focal's patented inverted-dome tweeters act like miniature woofer cones, dispersing high frequencies evenly with fine resolution and exciting dynamics. You can pivot the tweeters toward your listening position to optimize stereo imaging.

High-quality parts

The strong, lightweight frame offers plenty of open space for unimpeded cone movement, along with plenty of venting to cool the voice coils. High-quality components in the built-in crossover ensure a seamless distribution of frequencies to the woofer and tweeter, for an extremely natural sound. Focal inspects and tests every Access speaker to ensure that each one lives up to their high quality standards.

Note: Focal describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.

Features

Woofer: The light, rigid woven glass fiber woofer cone is humidity resistant. The butyl rubber surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.

Basket: The woofer features a basket made of 20% glass fiber filled ABS.

Voice Coil: The voice coil is wound around a 1" diameter low-mass Kapton former, ensuring no coil deformation.

Inverted Dome Tweeter: The tweeter is an inverted aluminum dome, producing a broad sound stage. The tweeter rotates on its post, so it can be pointed toward the listener.

Good rear speakers

These speakers are great for rears. The tweeter angle really helps the highs sound like they are not low in the doors, but more so at your ears.. These speakers will probably be used for rear fill when the amp and sub are in place. For the price, you cannot beat the sound they create. Currently running off the alpine hd137bt with the focal 165a1 components up front in a 2007 chrysler pt cruiser. Can't complain. Thanks focal and crutchfield.

detailed midrange, adjustable angle tweeter.

Install instructions and wiring harness from Crutchfield made this installation much easier that without them. The bass sounds great!

Great entry level focal speakers

They are great replacement speakers and works just fine and loud enough before distortion on my stock radio in my toyota avalon. I bet it will sound even better with an amp. The sound signature is bright and clear, great if you prefer clearly over fullness. I have a 12 inch polk sub, but the focal just doesn't have the mid bass to make the music sound full, I always felt something is missing.

Overall great speaker, I have heard a set of component polyglass properly amped, dampened and signaled, it sounded just AMAZING. If you have the extra money, go for the polyglass. The access line is on par with polk's db/dxi or infinity reference IMO.
