doesn't fit Monster SFLM GP-50

Written By Anonymous, Raleigh, NC on Saturday, July 21, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these for Monster SFLM GP-50, 50 ft. SuperFlat Mini Speaker Cables. The opening on these connectors is too small for the wires. The connectors cannot be attached to the wires.
Pros:
none for my cables
Cons:
opening is too small

Monster XP Mini Twist-on Pin Connectors

Written By BobF, Houston, TX on Monday, August 22, 2011
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These did not work with Monster Cable. I wish someone would have let me know. The openings for the cable insert are too small and the Monster cable would not stay in the Pin Connectors. I would not recommend these with the larger cables.

These things were a giant bust. They fall off easily and are too small to work with my
Definitive speakers.

Monster XP Mini Twist-on Pin Connectors

Written By 4-man, Arcanum, OH on Friday, December 03, 2010
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This purchase was a near total bust. I was told, by my Crutchfield advisor, that this
connector would make for "easy connections", between my Polk RM87 speakers and my
Denon receiver. The Monster cable I was sold, is so thick the connectors would not twist
on. The spring-clip connectors are on the bottom of my speakers; so the straight pin
connectors would not allow the speakers to sit upright. The diameter of the pin is way too
small, to connect to the speaker out-put plugs on the back of my receiver. The only part of
this item I was able to use were the red and black caps that I used to mark the + and - at
each end of my cables. I ended up making bare wire connections to my speakers, and
large banana plugs, from a local retailer, to connect to my receiver.

Nice 'Frill' or 'Fluff'

Written By tetvet6768, WA on Tuesday, November 16, 2010
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Shouldn't have ordered these. Not inexpensive for what they are, quite pricey.
Had/have no use for them They will not insert into a screw connection on the
back of a Pioneer Elite receiver nor will they install into the red/blck
connections on the cntr. spkr.
They would need to bent about 70 - 90 degrees. I suppose they make them, but I
found it just as easy to do it the 'old' way and twist the wire end and insert it.

Bad insulators

Written By Michael, MT on Friday, January 01, 2010
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Insulators are so loose on 16 gauge wire (Monster 119S1650 on Crutchfield) that they
slip right off. Turn them so the poles point at the ground and you've got a problem - they
slide right off. Twist them all you want, they do not grab the wire.

Plugging these into the ports on speakers is interesting. I had to screw mine down
while wiggling the wire to make sure it was on. Otherwise, they slip right out.

Twisting these on the cable was not fun for me. My first time with wire though. I twist
them on tight enough ... and if I go too far, it twists on itself like a rope. Hard to tell when
enough is enough. When I moved the system to a new location, one wire came right off.
I could see the twists in the wire and the connector just fell right off as I was moving it.

They did not stay on for a simple put in the box, move to new spot, take out of box trip.
Now, I have some sort of squealing hum that is sporadic that I suspect is a wire that's
loose. And here I am wondering to myself ... how many of these will I have to undo and
redo to find it?

Not happy at all with these connectors.

They work

Written By Jeffrey, Providence RI on Friday, August 01, 2008
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

They work as advertised, but the only thing that I was mildly disappointed about was that the rubber end pieces just slip right off the wire and post - I thought it would be a bit more snug.

This is using the recommended 16G wire.

Other than that, works as advertised.

Worked for me

Written By Rob, Derry, NH on Wednesday, December 13, 2006
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

They're supposed to go on counter-clockwise, which is the opposite of how you tighten most things. At any rate, these worked just fine for me. After twisting one on, I could pull fairly hard and it didn't seem to be going anywhere.

All in all, they seem to have worked as advertised.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

you're supposed to twist the wire into the connector, which is relatively easy, except it doesn't work too well. I have since purchased connectors with compression. With these connectors you always feel like the connection could be more secure. They work, but I would not recommend them.
