Nice upgrade to my wife's 09 Honda Civic. It's now much cleaner and crisper. Super easy installation and of course that was made possible by the great folks at Crutchfield. They supplied EVERYTHING I needed to replace all four speakers within an hour.

I purchased these speakers for the rear doors on my 2007 GMC Sierra. The instructions from Crutchfield were excellent. I had to cut out my existing speakers and attach the new speakers to the existing bracket. These speakers sound just as good as the factory speakers...maybe a little better but gets the job done if you don't want to spend a lot of money.

Vehicle: 2006 Toyota Tacoma DCLB / Non JBL. Head Unit: Pioneer AVH 3200dvd.I listen to a lot of rap and rock and these speakers do alright for what they are and how much you pay. My stock speakers could pick up deep bass pretty well but the highs became distorted, these do not pick up low bass well. They do best in mids and some highs. I thought from the reviews that these speakers would somewhat blow my stockers out of the water... however I feel like I just traded some characteristics out. Will be ordering different speakers all around next time.

Just Ok

2007 Chevy Equinox and limited technical know-how.

These speakers are ok. My headunit is stock and I replaced regular stock speakers. No amplifier or any special equipment. My headunit only makes these speakers sound different/better than the replaced ones at high volume, nearly all the way cranked up. The look nice and sound decent. I'm just glad I got them at a discounted rate or I may have returned them. I'm hoping, eventually, to replace my headunit and potentially get a small powered sub, as these speakers lack bass, but are good on mids and highs.

Pros:

* Good price * Came with everything to install * A bit crisper than OEM speakers * A tad more bass

Cons:

* Bass is weak, but this may be due to my OEM headunit * Covers were useless for my particular install * Might need to be amped for full range of sound, or may need a sub for full, rich bass

Poor sound fidelity

These speakers do not produce the sound very accurately. The base is poor which I more or less expected at this price range. But , I expected a better overall sound fidelity. Highs are muffled, mids are weak and tiny. perhaps for the low price of the speakers that's the best you can get, but I should have spent an extra $50 or so and gotten a set with better sound reproduction.

I was surprised at the poor bass response and lack of sound depth. They work adequate with the rear speakers (for bass) already in place. If used solo, nothing below 500 htz is audible. The factory speakers have more bass.

I installed a pair in the rear doors of my Nissan Frontier KC and they made all the difference in the world by improving the clarity of the music and lyrics. And, it's great to have thumping bass again. I still have the factory speakers up front; but I can run the whole system on the two Kickers and not lose any sound quality. The low price and free shipping were icing on the cake.

Pros:

Very easy install with the Bojo 3-piece tool kit. No more screwdrivers to damage trim panels. Haven't noticed any distortion when cranking up the volume. The sound comes through crystal clear even the faintest cymbal can be heard.

Cons:

I wish they were made to fit the front doors too, then I'd have a nearly perfect sound system.

I was a Pioneer fan for years. Everything I bought was of the Pioneer brand. However, I decided to take a risk and branch out to these kickers. I bought these speakers to replace my factory pieces of garbage and it was an instant noticeable difference. I listen to a lot of rock and the instant I heard those guitars coming through crystal clear on these new speakers I became an instant Kicker fan! The bass is amazing (could be a little bit stronger) and the tiniest strike of the drums is heard with effortless ease. Amazing speakers! I will be buying the 6x9 version here shortly and recommend you do the same.

Pros:

Solid construction. Great mounting surface on the bracket. I crank the volume up all the way and haven't heard any distortion.

Cons:

Could have the positive and negative wire hook up labeled.

I really like the difference these speakers made in my Saleen Mustang Convertible in my rear setup. I have the stock Mach stereo system so don't waste your money on purchasing the XTC 6-1/2" Speaker Baffles. The convertibles at least have the speakers already enclosed/housed, plus the baffles don't fit anyway. Strongly recommend the baffles for the front setup. You don't need the wire harness for the rear if you are expecting this. Simple plug and play. You'll have to make an additional two holes in the Mach speaker enclosure since they won't align with the stock speaker hole setup. Don't use a drill for the new holes just screw in with some minor elbow grease to get the job done. Wait to get the instructions on removing the molding etc and do not pry the speaker coverings. Other than that these tips should help you with a clean and smooth install with out the surprises.

Pros:

Clear, crisp and concise sound.

Cons:

Base doesn't hit as hard but still good enough to enjoy all types of music.

First Time Buyer

Well i just bought my new jeep and decided the first thing i wanted to change would be my speakers. So i placed my order for 4 of the kickers. Then after i received my confirmation that my speakers were inbound i noticed to my horror that the screen over my jeep speakers wasn't a screen at all but rather just a line in my door panel. Fearing this was going to be a difficult install now i was worried about getting my order instead of excited. When my order finally showed up though Crutchfield came through as they included very easy to read and understand instructions specifically for my vehicle. So what had been an "oh crap" moment turned into a easy day. Although after installing the first 3 speakers i was confronted with another problem, one of the wire harnesses that Crutchfield provided was damaged and missing the positive wire, but with one call to their customer service and without any hassle at all i have a new wire harness inbound. To my surprise actually before i even got off the phone with customer service my email had already alerted me that a new harness was inbound. Their customer service was probably the best I've ever dealt with and to me that is worth more than any product a company can provide.

Pros:

Speakers sound great.

Cons:

Haven't had anything i could complain about yet

Stellar Mid-range for the price.

Bought 4 for a replacement of factory speakers in a 2000 VW Golf. This is the third set of Kicker speakers I have purchased over the last 5 years, one for each of my cars. As you can tell, I have been beyond pleased with them and will probably never own another brand. Install was slightly difficult, but that was the car interior's fault and not the speakers. Good clean sound and unbelievable reliability, you can't go wrong.

Pros:

Stellar Mid-range and Highs, 9 out of 10 Bass output. Reliability and quality are unparalleled in my experience.

Cons:

Nothing so-far.

Great Upgrade

Wanted some decent bass and treble in my '06 Mitsubishi Evolution, but I didn't want to add a sub or any amps. I chose these based on friend testimonials and reviews here. I decided to go with just a rear set first and WOW, huge difference over the stock paper junk speakers. Bass is very good for such a small speaker and the highs are so much cleaner and crisper than stock. I will definitely be ordering a set for the front doors very soon. My only gripe was they aren't a direct fit into the rear deck or front doors of the car and the adapters are a little chintzy. But they are worth dealing with, as the sound quality is such a big improvement from stock.

Pros:

Excellent bass for their size, highs are very good, don't need to be amped to get good sound, durable construction

Cons:

Not a direct fit into my application, provided speaker mounting brackets are not the greatest
