Add hands-free calling to your JVC receiver. This handy KS-BTA100 Bluetooth adapter lets you answer incoming calls and place outgoing calls with compatible phones — all without having to fumble around for your cell phone. You can also stream music from a compatible phone — use the dedicated keys to play your tunes.

To get started, plug the KS-BTA100 into your compatible JVC stereo's rear auxiliary input, then mount it in a convenient spot. Once it's connected, setup only takes a few minutes, and you'll be on your way to safer driving, talking with both hands on the wheel and keeping your eyes on the road.     Overview: The JVC KS-BTA100 Bluetooth Adapter provides Bluetooth hands-free communication and digital audio streaming functions for your 2011-up Bluetooth-ready JVC in-dash head unit , which also features a front- or rear-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input.  The JVC KS-BTA100 gives you hands-free communication from your compatible Bluetooth mobile phone and wireless streaming audio from a Bluetooth enabled digital audio player, when connected to a compatible Bluetooth-ready JVC in-dash head unit . The JVC Bluetooth Adapter includes a super-sensitive microphone, an Answer/End button, and playback controls. Your Bluetooth-ready JVC in-dash head unit can be set to automatically mute any music audio to your vehicle's speakers so you can listen to your telephone call using your car speakers.

    JVC head unit Compatibility: The JVC KS-BTA100 Bluetooth Adapter is compatible with 2011-up Bluetooth-ready JVC in-dash head units, which also feature a front- or rear-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input. Current compatible models include (as of 3/7/2013):

    • KD-A Series: 525, 625, 645,
    • KD-R Series: 320, 330, 520, 530, 540, 620, 640
    • KD-HD Series: 52, 57, 70
    • KD-X Series: 200

    Bluetooth Technology: Bluetooth is a short-range wireless radio communication technology for the mobile device such as cellular phones, portable PCs and other devices. The Bluetooth devices can be connected to one another without cables and communicate with each other. To send or receive voice and data between this adapter and your Bluetooth device, the units must be within 10 meters of each other.

    Bluetooth Profile: The Bluetooth  ver. 2.1+EDR certified adapter supports the following Bluetooth profiles.

    • HFP (Hands-Free Profile)
    • A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile)
    • AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile)

    Pairing: When you connect a Bluetooth device to your JVC receiver through this adapter for the first time, you must pair the two units. Pairing allows Bluetooth devices to communicate to each other. To pair the two units, you may need to enter the PIN code of your Bluetooth device you want to connect. You can pair up to 8 Bluetooth devices to this adapter. Only one device can be connected and used at any one given time.

    Note: Not all Bluetooth devices will be compatible. Visit the JVC Mobile Entertainment Bluetooth Support Page for a complete list of compatible Bluetooth enabled devices.

    Hands-Free Communication: The JVC KS-BTA100 Bluetooth Adapter supports Bluetooth hands-free communication from your Bluetooth mobile phone through your compatible 2011-up JVC head unit . The JVC KS-BTA100 features an integrated microphone and Answer/End button to control your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. Your phone calls will be heard over your vehicle's speaker system.

    • Microphone: The KS-BTA100's integrated microphone lets you carry on your side of the conversation as well as voice dial your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone's contacts. Your mobile phone must also support voice dialing for this feature to work. You can adjust the microphone level between - Low, Normal, or High.
    • Answer/End Button: The KS-BTA100's integrated Answer/End button lets you answer and end phone calls.
    • Redial: You can redial the last number called or dialed.
    • Private Mode: The KS-BTA100 lets you switch from Hands-Free mode to Private Mode, so you can talk privately on your mobile phone.

    Audio Streaming: The adapter allows your JVC head unit to playback audio wirelessly from your Bluetooth compatible portable audio player or mobile phone. You can use the KS-BTA100's integrated playback controls to operate the following playback options of your Bluetooth compatible portable audio player/mobile phone - Play/Pause, Stop, Fast-Forward/Reverse, and Skip (previous/next).

    Note: You control your streaming music from the KS-BTA100's controls, not your JVC head unit .

    Connections: The JVC KS-BTA100 Bluetooth Adapter features an attached 9.5' cable which is terminated by power/ground/mute leads and a right-angle male 3.5mm connector. The power wire (Blue/white) connects to the turn-on lead (Blue/white) of your JVC head unit, the ground wire (black) should be grounded to your vehicle's metal chassis, and the mute (brown) wire connects to the mute wire (brown) on your JVC head unit. The right-angle male 3.5mm connector plugs into the front- or rear-panel auxiliary input on the back of your compatible JVC head unit.

    Note: The KS-BTA100 must be plugged into the rear-panel auxiliary input, if your compatible JVC head unit has both front- & rear-panel aux inputs (not the front-panel auxiliary input).

    Mounting: The JVC KS-BTA100 Bluetooth Adapter includes two-sided tape to mount the device to your vehicle's dash or console.

    Nice product. I bought it with a JVC KDR330 radio and installed it at the same time. Very Very easy installation
    Pros:
    Answers calls and people tell me it is crystal clear.
    Cons:
    I am not quite sure, but I don't think it the microphone activates, like with my Jabra when I am dictating a text message.

    Works better than most oem Bluetooth devices. No one can even tell we are talking on it, sounds great! I can even use voice calling by name with my Iphone4. Installation was a breeze. No issues so far, had it for a few weeks now.

    My sole purpose for purchasing & installing this item was for it's audio streaming capabilities. Install was cake, as wires are the same color as the head unit's. Now I can tune in to Bassdrive dot com on my commute!
    Pros:
    Easy install; can stream music from my smartphone, or internet radio; easy to use; I have not used it for calls yet, nor do I intend to: just hold the round button to ignore then rock on!
    Cons:
    Only con I can possibly think of is that it came with double sided tape as mounting hardware, my cabin hits 130+ degrees in the summer! Gooey dash is not in my future, as I tossed the tape I secured it via alternate means.

    I got this as a gift and installed it in about an hour. It works great with my samsung S3. Everyone needs to get this for ease of use and driving while talking on the phone. After installation the phone registration was easy no pass code required just, search and match.

    Just installed it in my old Jeep with the JVC receiver. Worked flawlessly! After reading so many bad things about bluetooth systems, I wasn't sure what to expect. Paired with my HTC Radar in seconds and now can receive / make calls, and also stream audio! Switching from phone to streaming to listening to the radio works simply great. Very pleased.
    Pros:
    Streaming works. Handsfree works. Paired quickly. No issues.
    Cons:
    Would have liked to have a dedicated "hang up" button (you have to press and hold the call button to hang up)

    As close to plug and play as one can imagine. Installed in my 03 Civic with a JVC KD-HDR44. Mounting right next to the heater controls seems to let everyone hear me just fine. The location is also convenient for blue tooth audio streaming control (i.e. pause, next, previous etc.).
    Pros:
    Simple, nearly plug and play. Good voice capture.
    Cons:
    Wiring instructions were slightly confusing but I guessed right ...

    A Bit Clunky But Works Well

    I bought this JVC bluetooth adapter for use with a JVC KW-HDR720. Unit installed easily- hook up three wires and plug it in the rear aux input. Paired up easily with my Samsung Convoy and streamed music and answered calls as well as making them. Radio mutes automatically when making or taking a call. On my 2011 Xterra I placed this unit on the lower dash near the 4wd switch. The microphone picks up my voice well and the people I call say it sounds clear. I'd have placed it higher on the dash but the cord is visible and colors dont match my dash. I dont make many calls while driving but this will make it safer and easier when I do. For those who use theor phones a head unit with integrated bluetooth may be better. But I have HD radio (awesome) and bluetooth for less than what a bluetooth enabled head unit costs.
    Pros:
    Works well, streams audio and makes and receives calls well
    Cons:
    Lack of color choices, a bit obtrusive Sometimes plays music when you want to make a call a bit pricy for what it is

    I was skeptical about the quality of bluetooth audio, but after I hooked this up with my JVC KD-AHD79, I was blown away with the quality. I should have believed Crutchfield's research regarding bluetooth audio, but I was skeptical because I didn't think wireless technology sound quality would even come close to a direct usb connection. Pleasantly surprised.

    Bought this to go with my new JVC KD-AHD79 head unit to install in a 2003 Infinity G35 sedan with the bose system. It works great and sounds better than I expected! Head unit automatically pauses the sound and plays a tone to let you know a call is coming in. It works just as advertised. Only reason I knocked off a star was the price. Quite pricey for what it does.

    This adapter was easy to install at the same time as my car steteo and works great. My phone syncs easily and automatically every time I get in my car.

    It is also great to be able to play music from my phone wirelessly through the Bluetooth adapter. This was a great purchase for me.

    Works great..was a little hesitant that it wouldn't work because on the JVC site where it shows the applicable phones the HTC Droid Incredible (Verizon) wasn't listed..But it woks great..hands free and mutes the music and rings over the car speakers when you get a call...and my friends say that they can hear me better on their phone on the hands free than on the actual phone...Thumbs UP !!!!!! Have it paired with the JVC Arsenal KDAHD79 head unit....AWESOME as well...and easy to install...

    I bought this BT adapter with my new JVC HDR720. Install was super easy. I was able to place this just to the right of my steering column, and it still picks up my voice perfectly even though it's sitting a bit low on the dash. Playback through the receiver is very good. Functionally, it's very easy to use, which is important so you don't have to look at it to use it. It works with my voice dialing on my phone, so I can just say who I want to call and it dials for me. Syncing has worked flawlessly. Switching from head unit to the phone,or phone to the head unit is effortless.

    Overall I am very impressed by this adapter. I would buy again.

    Provides full functionality for the iPod. The iPod is kept in the shirt pocket. The
    phone and MP3s are all controlled via voice commands. The mp3 sound delivered
    via bluetooth is very good and the audio delivered by speaker phone is typical. A
    bit expensive but still worth the money. The controller comes with double-sided
    tape for surface mounting. Would've been nicer if it had the capability of being
    flush-mounted in the dashboard.
    Oh, and the customer service provided by Crutchfield is second to none.

    Good product but has wires that need to be connected to the back of the radio. I
    had my radio installed before this arrived then had to pull it put again to install the
    JVC KS-BTA100. But once installed works great.
