    Not Bello's Best Effort

    Having previously purchased another product by Bell'o (a television stand) I was not prepared for the assembly problems I encountered with this product. The instructions suggest two people... we ended up needing three. The weak link in their design are the clips holding the glass shelves in place... in a word, they don't. Mine still slide freely (one actually wobbles) even after tightening the screws almost to the point of breaking. That aside, it's a beautiful piece of furniture, and if you park it and don't move your equipment much, it should suit most purposes. Just beware. You'll need at least an hour and at least one helper.
    Pros:
    Nice look. Matches other Bell'o items. Price.
    Cons:
    Non-secure clips on shelves.

    This is a very nice design concept. It is a good-looking, modern, unobtrusive piece of furniture that accomplishes its simple, no-frills objective of staging audio components with an artful touch. The black-and-glass look works in most any decor, as opposed to a wood finish that rarely matches or complements the wood furniture and/or trim one already has in the home.

    One of the side clips on mine broke as I was assembling it; the clips are made of injection molded metal instead of forged steel, which would be a good design adjustment for the mfr. (Crutchfield sent me a replacement immediately.) I would also have liked both sides to contain holes for channeling the wiring. And it doesn't seem necessary to have it stand so tall, with quite so much space between the components' respective shelf perches. I have a turntable on the top shelf (the only place it can go, of course), and while I am 5'11" it feels like it sits about 6"-10" higher than comfortable.

    That said, I'd probably buy it again, as there really is nothing else out there like it.
