Features
Woofer: The Pioneer Champion series TS-W259D4 features a
seamless IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) composite cone woofer. The
surface area is approximately 14% larger than last year's model for louder and
higher quality bass reproduction. This process of cone molding assures a
uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cone is lightweight and rigid
for low distortion and superior bass response.
Surround: The surround is made of dual-layer, fiber
reinforced elastic polymer.
Dual Voice Coils: For increased system flexibility, the woofer has two
4Ω voice coils. The two sets of spring compression binding post terminals are side-by-side
for easy wiring. Each post will accept a pin connector, a single banana plug, or bare wire
up to 10 gauge. The two voice coils can be wired in series to present an 8Ω load or in
parallel to present a 2Ω load. Additionally, each coil can be connected to a different
amplifier channel and each channel will see a 4Ω load.
Double-stacked Magnet: The TS-W259D4 uses Double-stacked
High Energy magnets to create a powerful magnetic force. This increases the control exerted over the voice
coil and the power transferred to the cone.
