Overview: The ideal personal desktop audio system, the Denon RCD-N7
lets you listen to high-fidelity music from your CD collection, iPod/iPhone, USB
Mass Storage Class device, the hard drive of your computer, and Internet Radio.
The Denon network audio receiver features a powerful 65 watts per channel digital amplifier and
connects to your speakers (sold separately) via audiophile-grade binding post
speaker terminals. The Denon RCD-N7 features an integrated iPod/iPhone dock for quick and easy connection to your iPod or iPhone
for music playback. The built-in CD player features MP3/WMA playback capability from CD-R
and CD-RW discs. The unit's front-panel USB port lets your playback your music
files from a USB thumbdrive, while its analog and digital auxiliary inputs allow
connection of almost any external audio source. In addition, the Denon RCD-N7
lets you connect to your home network via WiFi or Ethernet, so you can listen to
music files stored on your computer or from Internet Radio broadcasts. An IR
wireless remote control is included for easy operation.

Digital Amplifier: The Denon RCD-N7 features a powerful 65 watts x
2-channel digital amplifier for audiophile-grade sound.
Binding Post Speaker Terminals: The Denon RCD-N7 is equipped with four
binding post terminals to connect a pair of loudspeakers (sold separately) rated
between 4-16 ohms.
Subwoofer Output: The RCD-N7 is equipped with a subwoofer preamp
output to connect a powered subwoofer to the system for better bass dynamics.
Tone Adjustments: The RCD-N7 features both Bass & Treble adjustments
(+/-10dB).
Super Dynamic Bass: The unit's Super Dynamic Bass (SDB) emphasizes the
system's bass output.
Source Direct: The Source Direct (S.Direct) function bypasses the
unit's tonal controls for a more accurate reproduction of the original
soundtrack.
Auxiliary Inputs/Output: The Denon RCD-N7 is equipped with three
analog auxiliary inputs and one output.
- Auxiliary Input: The RCD-N7 is equipped with three analog
auxiliary inputs. There is one front-panel 3.5mm minijack connection
to connect your portable digital audio player. There are two pair of
rear-panel stereo RCA connections to connect your MD player, tape deck, or
cable box.
- Auxiliary Output: The RCD-N7 is equipped with a set of stereo
audio RCA outputs to connect the unit to an external amplifier. The analog
output will transfer Auxiliary, Network, USB, and iPod/iPhone audio content
to your home stereo receiver.
Optical Input: The Denon RCD-N7 is equipped with a rear-panel optical
digital input for connecting your DVD player, Satellite receiver, or Cable box.
Headphone Output: The Denon RCD-N7 is equipped with a front-panel
3.5mm headphone output so you can connect a set of headphones for high-quality
private listening. When headphones are connected, the unit will mute the
audio signal to any connected speakers.
Protection Circuit: The protection circuit is activate in the
following situations.
- If the speaker cable wire touches the rear panel or screws. Or if the
speaker cable's positive and negative leads are touching.
- If the surrounding temperature is extremely high.
- If the inside of the amplifier gets hot du to extended use at high
output.
Tuner Functions
AM/FM Tuner: The Denon RCD-N7 features a built-in AM/FM tuner. The
unit offers manual, seek, and preset tuning.
Preset Tuning: This unit can be preset with a total of 99 FM and AM
broadcast stations, in any combination. You can choose to manual preset all your
FM stations, or have the RCD-N7 automatically select your presets for you. AM
stations can only be manually preset. Preset stations can be recalled, using the
unit's remote control.
Preset Station Naming: You can give each preset station a custom
8-character name.
External Antennas: The Deon RCD-N7 comes with an external FM wire
antenna (coaxial) and an AM loop antenna (spring-clips).
Disc Playback
CD Playback: The Denon RCD-N7 is equipped with a CD-disc tray for
playback of CD-Audio, CD-Text, CD-R, and CD-RW discs.
MP3/WMA Playback: The Denon RCD-N7 also supports playback of MP3/WMA
files recorded onto CD-RW and CD-RW discs in ISO9660 level format. The unit can
recognize a total of 256 folders and a maximum of 512 folders and files. The
RCD-N7 also supports ID3-Tags, and META-tags. The receiver also supports ID3-Tag
(ver.1x/2x) and WMA META tag information so song title, artist name, and album
name can be displayed the unit's front-panel display. The RCD-N7 supports the

Direct Track Access: You can select a track directly by using the
included wireless remote's numeric keypad (0-10).
Playback Modes: The RCD-N7 offers Repeat, Random, and Program playback
modes.
- Repeat: Single track/All track in folder/All tracks on disc
- Random: All tracks in folder/All tracks on disc
- Program: Up to 25 tracks
USB/iPod Connectivity
USB Port: The Denon RCD-N7 is equipped with a front-panel USB (type-A) port
for easy, direct connection of a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) device and USB
Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) device with audio files. The front-panel USB
(type-A) port supports playback of MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, and FLAC audio files
recorded in FAT 16 or FAT 32 onto a USB (MSC/MTP) device. You can control music
playback from the network audio receiver and remote control. The unit also
supports ID3-Tag (ver.2) and META tag information so song title, artist
name, album name can be displayed the unit's front-panel display. The unit can
recognize up to 1,000 files.

USB memory devices will not work via a USB hub. It is not possible to
connect and use a computer via the unit's front-panel USB port.
iPod/iPhone Connectivity: The Denon RCD-N7 is equipped with an
integrated top-panel iPod dock to connect your compatible iPod or iPhone for
music playback. The unit's front-panel USB also allows iPod/iPhone connection.
The Denon RCD-N7 supports audio playback, music navigation, information display,
and charging of select iPods/iPhones.
- Audio Playback: You can listen to music files from your iPod/iPhone
by simply connecting the iPod/iPhone to the RCD-N7's dock connector or its
front-panel USB port, using the USB/Dock cable that came with your Apple
iPod/iPhone.
- Music Navigation: You can choose to operate your connected iPod/iPhone
from the RCD-N7's front-panel controls and remote control, or from your
iPod/iPhone's clickwheel or touchscreen. The Denon RCD-N7 lets you browse by
Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Podcast, Genre, Composer, or Audiobook. It
also offers Play/Pause, Stop, Skip/Back, Repeat, and Random functions.
- Music Information Display: The Denon network audio receiver will
display Track #, Elapsed playing time; as well as Song, Artist, and Album
name. You can also choose to view the music information on your iPod or
iPhone.
- Charging: The RCD-N7 will charge your connected iPod or iPhone
when the Network Audio Player is powered up.

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change
functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may
need to reset the receiver and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If
this doesn't work, you may need to revert to the older software version or
wait until a newer software update is available.
AirPlay Compatible: AirPlay lets you wirelessly stream your
favorite songs directly from your iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad, or from your
iTunes library on your PC or Mac to the Denon RCD-N7. Using the Remote App on
your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad and your wireless home network, you don't even
need to be in the same room as the components or your computer to play, pause,
skip, and stop the songs in your iTunes music library. You will even see the
iTunes music information, including your track titles and artist info on the
Denon RCD-N7.

Network Ready
Network Connection: The RCD-N7 is equipped with dual network connection
methods. There's an RJ-45 LAN (Ethernet) port for direct wired connection to
your home network, and there's also the built-in Wi-Fi feature that includes
Wi-Fi Protected Setup for safe and secure connection to your wireless home
network. The unit's network connection lets you listen to your music files
stored on your PC or music content from Internet Radio.
Note: This unit's RJ-45 Ethernet port supports
10BASE-T/100BASE-TX and requires an Ethernet (LAN) category 5 or higher
cable, Router, Modem, and Internet connection. When using a wireless LAN
connection, your system must feature an wireless router/access-point.
DLNA Certified: The RCD-N7 is DLNA (Digital Living Network
Alliance) 1.5 and Windows 7 compliant for audio networking. This means it's
easier for you to access and enjoy digital music stored on your PC. You can use
your PC to play high-bit rate music content through your audio system, or use
the RCD-N7 to browse and play music files on your hard drive.
Media Player: The Denon RCD-N7 lets you play music files
stored on your computer via a network connection. MP3, WMA, AAC , WAV, and FLAC
audio files stored on your computer can be played through the RCD-N7 via its
wired or wireless network connection. You can control playback of your streamed
audio files from the RCD-N7's remote control. The receiver also supports ID3-Tag
(ver.2) and META tag information so song title, artist name, and album name can
be displayed the unit's front-panel display. The Denon RCD-N7 supports the

Internet Radio: The Denon RCD-N7 lets you access Internet
Radio stations from around the world. Internet Radio stations in MP3 and WMA
format are supported. You can choose from thousands of Internet Radio stations
and sort them by genre and region. You can store up to 50 Internet Radio
stations as presets. The unit will automatically save up to 20 of the most
recently played stations. You can listen to your favorite music through the
following Internet Radio services - Rhapsody, Napster, and Pandora.
- Napster: The monthly music subscription service Napster
is accessible. You can search for particular tracks (by artist, album, or
song) on Napster and register your favorite tracks to the "My Napster
Library".
- Pandora: Once the network audio player is registered
with your Pandora account, you can listen to the automated music
recommendation and Internet Radio service. You can create up to 100
personalized radio stations. You can sort tracks within these radio
stations. You can skip up to 6 tracks that are being played back within 1
hour.
- Rhapsody: Rhapsody is another paid music broadcast
service accessible through the network audio player. You can search for
particular tracks (by artist, album, or song) on Rhapsody and register your
favorite tracks to "My Library". You can also search for similar music to
the music you are currently listening to.
Note: This network audio player's Internet Radio Station
list is created using a free radio station database service (vTuner). This
database service provides a list edited and created for this unit. Not
available in all countries.
Favorites: The Favorite function allows you to register your
favorite Internet Radio broadcast stations and computer audio files in the
unit's Favorite List in advance so that you can select and listen to the
stations or files right away, whenever you want. The contents that you can
register and select are Internet Radio stations and music files stored on your
PC. You can register up to 50 items in the Favorite List.
Note: When you attempt to register the 51st station or
file in the Favorite List, the last station or file is automatically
deleted.
Convenience Features
Stylish & Compact Design: The Denon RCD-N7 is equipped with a
stylish, compact design so it can fit almost anywhere.
OEL Display: The Denon network audio receiver features a 3-line OEL
(Organic Electroluminescence) display. The unit will display song information
from its network, USB, and iPod/iPhone connection.
Dimmer: The display brightness can be set to 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, or
Off.
12-Hour Clock Display: The RCD-N7 is equipped with a built-in 12-hour
clock. When the unit connected to the Internet, the current time set
automatically.
Sleep Timer: Use this function to automatically switch the power to
the standby mode after a specific amount of time (minutes). The sleep timer can
be set to up to 90 minutes, in 10-min. increments.
On Timer: The RCD-N7 can be set to automatically playback a Preset
station, CD disc, USB device, or iPod/iPhone at a certain time of day. This can
be set for everyday or simply once.
Last Function Memory: This function stores the unit's
settings as they were immediately before going into the standby mode. When the
unit's power is turned back on, the settings are restored to where they were
before going into the standby mode.
Auto Standby: This unit will automatically enter the standby
mode after approximately 30 continuous minutes of stop mode with not operation.
Remote Control
Wireless Remote Control: The Denon RCD-N7 includes an IR remote
control for wireless operation of the network audio receiver, Internet Radio,
stored music files on your computer, a connected USB device, and a docked
iPod/iPhone.
Denon Remote App: With the available Denon Remote App, you can control
the network audio receiver from
an iPhone or iPod touch.
