Features

Sport Headphones: The Denon AH-W150 Bluetooth in-ear headphones were designed to be sweat proof and feature built in air cushions on each side for comfort and added ventilation. Denon's Exercise Freak headphones feature a flexible neckband and articulating in-ear design to fit you perfectly. Exercise Freak in-ear headphones feature an integrated amplifier and are professionally tuned to provide powerful bass to energize your workouts. Denon's Exercise Freak Bluetooth in-ear headphones are geared towards anyone who wants to get in shape while enjoying their music.

  • Anti-Microbial Silicon Ear Tips: The Exercise Freak in-ear headphones come with 4 pair of anti-microbial silicon ear tips (XS, S, M, L).
  • Reflective Neck Band: The Bluetooth in-ear headphones include a reflector on the neckband to provide added safety for evening workout activities.

Built-in Bluetooth: The Denon AH-W150 Bluetooth in-ear headphones allow you to take hands-free calls or wirelessly listen to music from your compatible Bluetooth-enabled device without having to plug it in. The Denon AH-W150 is Bluetooth version 3.0 certified with a range up to 25'. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone or other mobile device must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles.  These headphones are compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles: HFP (Hands Free Profile), HSP (Head Set Profile), A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), and AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).

  • Hands-Free Communication: The Denon AH-W150 in-ear headphones support Bluetooth hands-free communication (HFP/HSP) for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The integrated controls of the AH-W150 can be used to answer an in-coming call or end a call. A ring-tone will be heard through the headphones during an incoming call. The AH-W150's integrated omni-directional microphone lets you carry on your side of the conversation, while listening to the caller's voice through the earphones. You will still need to make outgoing call from your mobile phone's keypad or touchscreen. Once you have dialed the number from your phone, the call will automatically switch to the Sony Bluetooth headphones.
  • Wireless Audio Streaming: The Denon AH-W150 headphones support wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The Bluetooth headphones will be able to control basic playback functions of your Bluetooth device's stored music; such as Play/Pause & Next/Previous Track (via the integrated control buttons). The AH-W150 also supports audio streaming of music apps (such as Pandora, iHeartRadio, SiriusXM, Last.fm, Rhapsody, or Slacker); but without control. You will continue to use your Bluetooth enabled smartphone to view and control streaming music apps. When receiving a phone call while listening to music, the music audio pauses and the ring-tone is heard through the headphones.

Note: Your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone or other device must be paired with the AH-W150 headphones before hands-free operation. Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Denon AH-W150.

Rechargeable Battery: These headphones feature a 7-hour rechargeable Li-Polymer battery and provide audio alerts for low battery status and operation feedback. The battery can be charged from a free USB (type-A) port on your computer or laptop, using the included micro USB charging cable.

Denon's Sport App: Denon's Sport App for iPod touch/Phone/iPad or Android is designed to enhance your listening experience and enhance your total workout performance. Use your compatible' phone's GPS for automatic route mapping, pace tracking, calorie consumption. and elevation. You can also network with your friends through the free MapMyFitness web site and social networks. You can even view a friend's live map and activity, while comparing notes and tracking progress. In addition, voice prompts give you constant encouragement and support on your progress as you go, and the built-in Music Player provides the soundtrack for your workouts.

Note: The Denon Sport App is compatible with Apple iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad (iOS 4.2+); as well as Android devices (2.1+)

Overall, I think wireless Bluetooth headphones are the way to go if you need music when you exercise. There are no cords, and I didn't have to worry about a sudden move causing the cord to go taut and earbuds being yanked out of the ears (ouch).

The AH-W150 Exercise Freak headphones address those problems, and does so well. The electronics in the earpieces may take up some room, but they're so lightweight, I hardly knew they were there. The sound from the Labs' iPhone® was nice and tight. Plenty of bass, and plenty of detail. The in-ear buds are set on swivel posts, making them pretty easy to get set into your ear. Take the time to do it properly (and change sleeves if you need to). The better the fit, the better the sound.

My only caution about the W150's is that those electronics stored in the section of the headphones that rest behind the ears take up space. Not a problem — unless, like me, you wear glasses. I found that the headphones didn't sit quite as securely as I wanted them to when they were resting on my glasses' frames. When I removed my glasses and tried the W150's out, they fit comfortably and securely.

Sleek and Stylish

Written By MKH, Illinois on Wednesday, May 08, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love these headphones!! So far I have paired them to my iPod to use during my workout. They fit snug in my ears and no wires to worry about pulling out (verses wired headphones). Music quality is very good as well (they are able to drowned out the awful music played in the gym). Very easy to use too.
Pros:
Easy to use

GREAT headphones

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have had these earphones for 2 weeks and I am SO impressed. Had no issues connecting them to my iPod. Sound quality is good (I haven't had any issues with the bass quality so far). These headphones are really good for working out. I love to take them on the treadmill; they stay in place very well. The battery life is longer than I was expecting too.
Pros:
Very portable. Easy to use. Great battery life

Useless.

Written By RD1, Denver, CO. on Thursday, April 25, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Don't waste your money on these. I am in the Sound business and these sound horrible. Even boosting the bass on my phone did not work. Way too much treble and very low bass response. My $10 Sony headphones sound better. You would think for the price they would at least have good sound, but no. I think they spent more on the packaging than they did on the actual headphone technology.
Pros:
None.
Cons:
Everything.

great product

Written By Doug, Vestal, NY on Thursday, April 25, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

based on reviews i was a little worried about the bluetooth connection... but i have connected them to my windows laptop and my galaxy andriod phone and can walk around my living room without losing the connection. at about 15 ft i'll notice a little hiccup. i'd have to say any connection problems are with the paired device and not the headset.

the sound is awesome...

the ear tips took some playing around with to find the right ones to use. i'm not sure who is using the biggest tips; but if you can get those in your ears you must have the ears of an elephant. in fact, if you're using the big ones you can probably hear me typing this... i went right the xs size and had trouble getting them to stay in my ears. i was thinking they were too big; but the next bigger size actually worked better.

overall, i'd recommend the product to anyone looking for good quality, great sounding, wireless headphones...

It's great not to have to worry about wires getting tangled while you work out. Very comfortable.

AWESOME Product! Denon AH-W150 Exercise FreakT

Written By AlysonR, New Jersey on Friday, April 12, 2013

I've just recently became an avid gym junkie and after looking at all types of headphones I finally found these that fit perfectly! They don't fall out of my ears, the sound is crystal clear and the best part is that they are wireless! No reason to get tangled up in wires while I get lost running miles on the treadmill or bikes! What's cool is if I need to answer a phone call I can do that too hands free!
Pros:
Great price for a great product. Crystal Clear sound. Perfect for those "exercise freaks" out there!

Disappointed

Written By Adam, Utah on Monday, March 25, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got these on Thursday. The bluetooth works flawlessly, love it. The only problem is that they won't seal well or stay in my ear. The ear plugs that fit well slide out of my ear after I start working out and sweating. If I could exercise with my fingers constantly putting pressure on the ear buds, then the sound would be great, but because this is not possible, the sound is very tinny. I will be going back to my standard iPhone earbuds that came with my iPhone.
Pros:
Wireless
Cons:
Slides out of your ears as you sweat

Great Wireless Workout Headphones

Written By SarahM, Boston, MA on Tuesday, February 26, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Certainly seems like whatever issues people were having with the bluetooth technology were fixed- I left my phone on the treadmill when I went to go grab a towel and the sound continued to be perfect.

I really love these headphones for long runs and at the gym so I don't have to worry about tangling my arms or weights up with the cord from my headphones. The sound quality is clear and the technology works great.

I haven't worn in-ear headphones before, so that took some getting used to, but I do love the way the Exercise Freak headphones sound and look!
Pros:
Bluetooth technology works great, love the wireless feature.

So happy with the Exercise Freaks!

Written By SarahT, Boston, MA on Friday, February 22, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got my Exercise Freak headphones in the mail this week, and I am really happy with them! I decided to buy them after hearing that Denon fixed the problems they had with the Bluetooth capabilities. I've used the Exercise Freaks for about a week now and the Bluetooth is working perfectly. It connects to my iPhone in a matter of seconds and the sound is 100% clear. The headphones also stay really secure and comfortable during my workout which is a huge benefit. There is nothing more frustrating than having your earbuds yanked out of your ears while on the treadmill! Wireless is certainly a great thing. I'm quite happy with this purchase and would recommend them to any of my friends.
Pros:
Connects to Bluetooth easily & stays secure during exercise

Denon AH-W150 Exercise Freak™

Written By Wilson, Louisiana on Wednesday, February 20, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I read several negative reviews after I made the purchase and I am glad I hadn't read them before as it may have changed my mind about the purchase. I HAVE NEVER HAD PROBLEM WITH CONNECTIVITY unless the battery is VERY low. I am please with the battery life that I get out of the product. I use these when I'm working in the yard and have broken several expensive pairs getting the wires caught on something. Functionality of the product is great.
Pros:
Great reception with my iPhone blue tooth. I was more into function than sound quality, but they have a nice range.
Cons:
Could be a littlbe bit easier to put on and fit, but not everyone's ears are made like mine. Sound quality is very good have had better, but it served what I was looking for.

Good Product, Some considerations to be aware of

Written By RuthH, Seattle, WA on Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Good product, it seemlessly connects to your smartphone, very little set up. I did have two issues for buyers to consider. First, they mean what they say when they recommend carrying the phone above the waist to maximize connection. I carried it in my pocket on a run, right at the waist, and it went in and out frequently. I'm not even a tall person or have a long torso. Works fine from an arm holster though. Second, the headband has no way to adjust the length, and apparently my head is smaller than most because there was quite a bit of extra that would annoyingly rub on jacket collars, etc.
Pros:
Waterproof, easy set up, great sound, wonderful not to have to deal with a headphone cord while running!
Cons:
Headband is not adjustable, limited range of reliable bluetooth connection.

Great Product

Written By DMills, Atlanta, GA on Tuesday, January 29, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product for exercise and blue tooth calling. The only issue I had was with the size of the carrying case as both the headset and the charging cord made it a little cumbersome to zip/close. I went to a 6 inch USB cable to make it better. I highly recommend this product.
Pros:
Good sound, stays on your ears, no issues with microphone when making calls.
Cons:
USB cable and headset was a little too tight for the carrying case.
