Overview: The smc Pentax-DA 18-270mm F3.5-6.3ED SDM is a 15x telephoto zoom lens for Pentax D-SLR and interchangeable lens cameras. The extended 15x zoom ratio covers the long range from wide angle to super-telephoto, allowing you to photograph landscapes, portraits, sporting events, and more without changing lenses.

Lens Mount: The lens has a KAF3-mount, and can fit Pentax D-SLR and interchangeable lens cameras with KAF, KAF2 and KAF3 mounts. This includes the Pentax K-5, K-5II, K-30, and K-01 cameras.

SDM Autofocus System: The Pentax SDM autofocus system is driven by a built-in supersonic motor, which offers exceptionally smooth and quiet operation. When the lens is mounted on an SDM-compatible Pentax K-mount digital camera, the focus mode automatically switches to SDM-assisted autofocusing.

Focus Mode Shifting: Focus Mode Shifting allows you to switch the lens from Auto to Manual focus, using the switch on the lens barrel. This can be done without changing the focus mode on the camera.

Lens Hood: The lens kit includes the PH-RBD 62mm lens hood to keep unwanted light out of the lens, and protect the front of the lens. The hood can be reverse-mounted on the lens for storage. When installed, the hood adds approximately 1-7/16" to the overall length of the lens.

ED Glass: The two Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass lens elements effective minimizes chromatic aberration to deliver bright, high-resolution images, even at the edges.
