Features
Overview: The I-Sonic
Digital Audio System from Polk is an advanced, high-powered tabletop speaker
dock for your iPod and iPhone. It also includes a built-in AM/FM Tuner, auxiliary input,
and headphone output. Polk's I-Sonic 4-speaker array, on-board amplifier, advanced digital signal
processing, and patented PowerPort technology all work together to create
dynamic, full-range, room-filling sound.
I-Sonic 4-Speaker Array Technology: The Digital Audio System
features Polk's exclusive I-Sonic patented 4-speaker array
technology that create 360-degrees of room filling audiophile sound. Inside the
sleek body of the I-Sonic is twin speaker pairs. One pair of speakers fires
forward, while one pair of speakers fires rearward, projecting your audio in a
more realistic way. You will hear big, lifelike sound everywhere in the room,
even if you are to the side or behind the unit. By manipulating the signals to
the speakers through a pattern of signal cancellation, reinforcement and delays,
Polk Audio engineers created a larger sound stage and more specific imaging. The
result is a rich, full stereo image projected all around the I-Sonic Digital
Audio System into the room, with the clarity and spacious sound.
Note: Place the I-Sonic iPod speaker dock on a flat surface such
as a table, countertop, TV stand, or bookshelf. In order to get the maximum
benefits of the I-Sonic, place the unit so that the rear speakers are not
blocked.
PowerPort Bass Technology: Enhancing the I-Sonic's unique
4-speaker array is a hidden PowerPort bass vent on the bottom of the I-Sonic
that cuts turbulence as it funnels moving air from the interior baffles,
creating realistic low end response that adds surprising width and depth.
PowerPort Technology allows the Polk I-Sonic to deliver more deep, musical bass
than you'd expect from a moderately sized table-top speaker dock.
High-Powered Amplifier: The I-Sonic Digital Audio System's
4-speaker array is powered by a powerful onboard digital amplifier.
DSP: Exclusive new Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms
ensure incredible audio coverage in any sized room, at any volume level.
- Dynamic Loudness: Dynamic Loudness contour technology
automatically adjusts bass and treble response to account for your ears'
frequency sensitivity at low volume. You'll hear rich, well balanced sound
even at late-night listening levels.
- Dynamic Compression: Dynamic Compression technology prevents
distortion without changing the character of your audio. Even if you crank
it up, the I-Sonic with will always sound crisp, clear, and clean.
Bass & Treble Controls: The I-Sonic has user adjustable Bass
& Treble controls. This simple feature allows you to adjust the sound to suit
your personal taste or to compensate for sonic flaws in program material. The
Bass & Treble can be set independently from -6 to +6.
"Made for iPod/iPhone" Dock: The I-Sonic Digital Audio System from Polk features a top-panel Apple 30-pin dock connector to dock your iPod or iPhone device. The iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), and iPhone 5 will require the Apple
Lightning to 30-pin adapter or
Lightning to 30-pin cable (both, sold separately) in order to dock
with this system. The I-Sonic supports playback
of music stored on your iPod/iPhone or music apps downloaded to your Apple
device. You can control basic playback functions such as Play/Pause,
Previous/Next Track, and Fast Forward/Reverse from the I-Sonic's top-panel
