Features
Overview: The Cisco Valet Connector (AM10) helps you connect
your Windows-based computer to a Valet wireless network or any other wireless
network for quick Internet access. The Cisco
Valet Connector provides wireless internet access for USB-enabled computers so
you can connect your home PC or laptop to your home network's wireless router or
a retail hotspot.
Minimum System Requirements:
To use the Cisco Valet Connector (AM10), your desktop or laptop PC must have an
available USB 2.0- port, running Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1, or Windows
7. Your computer must also have a 1 GHz or faster processor, and 512MB or more
of RAM.
Note: A wireless router
or hotspot with an internet connection is also required. The Valet Connector
is not compatible with Mac.
Simple Setup: Installing the Cisco Valet Connector (AM10) is easy and
only take minutes. Simply insert the Valet Connector into the USB Port of your
desktop or laptop PC and follow the on-screen instructions of the pre-loaded
Cisco Connect software. The wireless USB adapter will install for an Internet
connection in just minutes.
Note: It is recommended that you disable your Internet security or
anti-virus software before installing the AM10. This is to prevent the AM10
from being blocked by your anti-virus software or Internet security. Once
installation is complete, make sure to reactivate all of your security
settings.
USB Extension Base: The Valet Connector comes attached to
its USB Extension Base. Using the Valet Connector in its Base may often improve
wireless signal performance, especially with desktop computers that may be
located under desks or tabletop. To use the USB Extension Base, make sure the
Valet Connector is connected to the Base, and then connect the Base to a USB
port on your computer or laptop.
Note: The AM10 comes with a plastic cap to protect the unit's USB
connector when not in use.
Wi-Fi Certified: The Cisco
Valet Connector is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n certified and uses built-in (2.4GHz) dual wireless
antennas for a reliable connection to your home network. It also
features Wi-Fi protected Access 2 (WPA2) encryption for security, helping to
protect your data and privacy.
Wireless Network Connection:
The Cisco Valet Connector allows you to experience the Internet without the use of an Ethernet cable. Its
seamless wireless connection and high-speed access capabilities are designed to
let you go online anywhere in your home to watch movies, share photos, or
transfer files with ease.
Portable Connection: You can also take the pocket-sized Valet
Connector with you anywhere to connect your laptop to hotspots at your favorite
coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, and airports.
