I installed these as rear factory upgrade speakers in a 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and am going to upgrade the front to match, just because they sound so good. Great bass for such a small speaker. Clear, crisp mids and highs. Even with the noise of the road. I am an audiophile with realistic expectations.

I am very pleased with these speakers. The price was really good. However they were alittle smaller than the orginial speakers, and the brackets really didn't help. I had to drill holes to make them fit. So that took alittle longer. But for the price and sound, I am pleased.

For the money spent, can't complain at all. This entire review is understood to be 'at this price point'.

I am so far pleased with this product. I had a friend install them since I'm not good with that stuff so he suggested I wait at least a day so I don't completely blow them out! haha I can't see any problems thus far, I have a 2001 Nissan Xterra and they sound great! They were simple in install and Crutchfield proved again their reliability.

After removing back seat panel etc on christmas day in daughters civic .Finally turned them on and one rattled sounded terrible has to be factory defect. now she can ride around with back seat out and trim panels until new ones are sent .This sucks dont buy these speakers.

For the size and type, not a bad sound. I kept the stock opening of my '95 325is kick panel intact, except for opening up the factory sound suppression material. I cut the back of that out and shoved some cotton-based batting material to alleviate any echo of the metal frame. That gave it a bit more free air. As far as the bass response goes, I am only pushing about 30 watts as I am using the stock Harmon-Kardon amp. Just don't push this speaker, it's not designed for it.

Pros:

For the cost, it's a good upgrade to the factory ones, although, after 17 years, the factory ones were worn out.

Less low end, much better quality overall

The speakers themselves do seem to have less bass than the ~6in woofer that was factory, but the overall sound quality is much better. Paired w/ the DS46 in the rear, and I have a MUCH better sounding stereo that previously!

Kicken in the Silverado

Installed the Kicker into my sons 2004 Chevy Silverado. The installation was very smooth other than having the mounting screws go in at an angle on the plactic mounting brackets. To ease this part, you may have to have a pair of Kliens available to clip the screws after mounting the speaker to the plastic brackets. If the screws go sideways, they may keep the brakets from installing into the door properly.

Pros:

Sounds great! Ease of installation

Cons:

Plastic mounting bracket may allow the screws go in at an angle

Greart Wrangler replacements!!

Sound great comparied to the stock Wrangler speakers. I have a 2003 wrangler and Crutchfield supplied everything for the install which was great an super fast delivery. Took a total of 15mins to install both. These speaker have excellent highs as well. They are in no way shape or form made for bass. If you think you will get bass from a speaker of this size you are mistaken. I have one 12" 100watt sub in the back and my Jeep pounds hard. I listen to basically country, rock, and metal music and all genres sound great.

Great addition to my Jeep Wrangler. I simply swapped the stock dual cones in the sound bar out for these and what a difference! Very easy installation (less than 15 minutes) and a great improvement in sound!

Highly Efficient and Clear

Purchased these as an upgrade in a Silverado pickup - door location. Replaced the factory speakers with these and added a new stereo unit. Although these are smaller than the stock speakers by an inch, they are so much more efficient. The boominess is gone. The bass is very there and very tight. the sound can get surprisingly loud with very little pushing the speakers. They installed (with the included adapter) in only a couple of minutes and added so much to the sound. I definitely have no regrets with these speakers

These speakers are good for about a week. After they get worked in the wires that are against the speaker begin to rattle and make a crackling. For kicker to put wires through the cone of the speaker in the first place was a stupid decision. I know i didn't blow the speaker because simply touching the wire to keep it off the cone stops the rattleing and cracking noise. Don't buy these speakers PERIOD. Total waste of money.

As a complete armature in the electronics aspect, I have to say that Crutchfeild provided everything I needed so I wouldn't be lost. With some common sense and the instructions, you will be fine. I had these old Alpine speakers in the Wrangler and these sound so much better. What I like the best, was that this company thought of everything, they provided all the wires for every situation.

I bought 2 pair of these for my 1994 Jeep Chrerokee, and they sound awesome!!!

Pros:

The mids and highs remain clear even at high volumes. Great product, Great price.

Cons:

If you don't have a rear sub these will make you consider buying one due to the lacking low end bass.

Super easy to install. Local shop wanted more money for same speaker. They also wanted $50.00 for install of DS525 and Kicker 4x6's. I installed all four in under 30 minutes. Great improvement over stock. Sound in clean, crisp and loud enough to drown out the road noise in my Wrangler . Web site notes to use original speaker covers on Wrangler sound bar. With a little time, you can install with Kicker supplied grill. Thanks Crutchfield.
