Woofer: The Rockford Fosgate Prime 6x9" full-range speaker features a light-weight, mica-injected polypropylene cone with a foam surround housed in a stamped, cold-rolled steel basket for added rigidity.

Midrange: The Rockford Fosgate R1693 features a 1.75" Mylar cone midrange for added vocal clarity.

Tweeter: The Prime R1693 features a 1/2" (13mm) Mylar balanced dome tweeter for crisp highs.

Seem great so far -some of the reviews I read on here may be misleading as they perform well -but are nothing special -at least not that I have found yet. I'm running them in an old car and they are about 5ft away from me in the rear deck (yes the car is that big) I'm just running them off an old head unit that I had laying around that puts out 22w rms 50w peak -there is plenty of sound coming out of them however with a better head unit or amp I can see them sounding much better -for me I'm still in the testing phase with them -but like I said before -the price is right for a well built speaker with exceptional sound quality.
Pros:
Great price, well built, decent sound
Cons:
I would not call them an audiophiles choice.

Replaced my 4 stock 6x9's with these GREAT speakers in my '11 Jeep Patriot. Installation was really easy. Only took about 45 mins to install all 4 speakers. The only hiccup I ran into was the two SHORTER factory mounting screws wouldn't line up in the new speakers' screw holes. The LONG factory screws fit perfectly. Other than that, very easy install, especially with the wire harnesses Crutchfield included. As far as sound, I've had custom audio in EVERY car or truck I've ever owned and these have great separation, surprisingly low bass response, and crisp highs. Definitely 100% better than stock and a great investment if you don't want to go with a full-on system. Oh, and the factory head-unit has PLENTY of power to push these speakers. No need for an amp...
Pros:
Awesome sound, easy install.
Cons:
2 screw holes don't QUITE line up, but very easily remedied if you know how to turn a screwdriver.

Made my factory stereo come alive! The best deal for a Top brand set of speakers.
Pros:
Great speakers to replace factory off brand.
Cons:
Screw holes did not line up with factory mounting. Also very limited space to use factory screws, had to modify. I blame this on the design of the car though, NOT the new speakers. My entire back seat and dash had to be removed to install.

Great sound!

I have these hooked to my new JVC Arsenal KD-AHD-79 direct and the sound quality is amazing. They can drive me out of the car before they begin to even hint at distortion. I was worried about bass response but like most of the review's have already stated: That is not a concern, these speakers are great!

I have always like Rockford Fosgate speakers and really like these new 6x9 speakers. I bought them as an upgrade to my 1989 Chevy Corvette as the factory ones gave out. I reviewed these speakers and with the price advertised from Crutchfield I decided to by these speakers. I recieved these speakers and had no problems installing them in my Corvette. I was amazed with the clarity and sound these Fosgate speakers made in my vehicle. I have them hooked to an Alpine 7871 CD changer controller and no amp. The sound was three times better than factory speakers and now ny friends think I have put in a boom box in my rear deck as they put out a good bass thump as well as mids and highs. Thanks again Crutchfield for good customer service and putting out good products.

If your looking for a speaker to kick butt with hip hop, this is the one. If your looking for a speaker to give you all around sound for rock, jazz, or classical, you might want to look elsewhere. This, like all Rockford fosgate speakers are great quality, crystal clear, and overwhelm my door speakers, but don't give me the range I am looking for with concerns of mid ranges of bass. Mids and highs are second to none. Might have to add a subwoofer and amplifier. But that being said, I am still very happy with them.
Pros:
Mids, highs, low or deep bass, crystal clear!
Cons:
Mid or high range bass are less than desirable.

These speakers are a nice improvement over the stock 6x9s in my Jeep Patriot. Compared to the stock speakers, which are pretty cheap paper cones, the Rockford Fosgate 3-ways are much easier on the ears and provide clearer sound. I've found they do an excellent job at reproducing studio-recorded music, especially electronica and pop, as those styles of music typically focus on defined dynamic ranges: mostly low-end, some vocals, and strong high-end percussion, synth, and electric guitars. They lack a good low-mid range for clear, punchy male vocals, and a true flat dynamic range for orchestral/choral music. Usually, I don't listen to those types of music while driving, so it's not as much of an issue. I wouldn't use these speakers in a home setup, but they work fine on the road, especially for the price!
Pros:
Great for pop, electronica. Decent low-end for kick drums and low bass, crisp highs and ultra-highs. Good price.
Cons:
Missing punchy low/mid range for male vocals and baritone-voiced instruments. Not ideal for true flat, full range sound.

my daughter grins when i ask if she likes them. sound great and easy to install. the connectors did not fit that were sent but not a problem for i made my own. had to cut out rear dash pad for they sat to high but look good with grills on them. were installed in plymoth breeze.

I have a 1999 Toyota Camry LE that still had the factory speakers and CD receiver. The difference with the new speakers was of course great. After breaking them in for a couple of weeks they sound even better. I am trying to keep the sound system as stock as possible because I don't care if people hear my music in the next car and these speakers have enough kick to make me happy. I prefer rock and country which these speakers handle very nicely. Bass is a little distorted at high volumes but with me that is not an issue since I am not a bass head. Highs are very good with little to know distortion at high volume. I prefer buying speakers and electronics through Crutchfield because the support is great and most of the time they provide the cables and adapters you need for installation. The prices are reasonable and sometimes better compared to other vendors. Will definitely return for future upgrades to my car audio.
Pros:

Cons:
Installation of speakers in my car was a pain in the butt. Thank goodness there is no video on Youtube showing me in the trunk trying to mount the new speakers. I blame the engineers at Toyota for making it difficult to upgrade the sound system!

I research all my buys for weeks and weeks and this one came highly recommended. For the price they are a steal and you get the confidence of Rockford. Before they were broken in they sounded hollow as expected but came to life pretty soon. One downside is I still feel like it has a weak response in the upper frequencies of the woofer which I can only tell when I compare to my alpine Sps 610c. I have them running off 50 w rme @ 4 ohm. They get very loud before my amp distorts and I'm comfortable with their durability when I cross them at 125hz so there is no bottoming out. 'bass' response is pretty good but I have no real opinion because I'm spoiled my my subs. Overall I would buy them again even tho they are the weakest of my speakers because the price is outstanding. Also, I'm a treble lover and the tweeters give more then I need before that shrill distortion. If this is in your price range get it. Happy listening! THank you crutchfield!

My first purchase of aftermarket speakers after reading all the great reviews about these Fosgates. I ordered this 6x9 and the 5 1/4 for up front. Installation was pretty comlicated once it was time to replace the rear speakers because I had to take out my entire back seat and a bunch of trim pieces to get to the stock speakers.

Okay, first off I want to say this was probably one of the best investments I've made for my car in the time I've owned it. I've been in alot of cars in my life and alot of cars with high end $1000 + sound systems and these speakers just running off of my Panasonic CQ1203 head unit sound amazing. I had high expectations and these were way better than I could have hoped. The difference between these and my stock speakers is incredible. I feel like I've been missing out I hear so much more in the same songs now that I didn't before. Great Bass, MID PUNCH, and awesome highs. I'm very satisfied. BUY THESE SPEAKERS they are such a good deal and sound so good. I'm still in the break-in process which is recomended for about 10 hours of use since it is winter and I live in WI, but not even turned half-way up is already way louder than my stock speakers maxed out. And to mention all the free installation supplies included. Glad I Chose these speakers and Crutchfield!!
