Features
Overview: The Peripheral Technology iSimple Gateway Automotive Media
Interface (ISSB571) seamlessly connects select iPods & iPhones to many 2008-2010 Subaru
factory stereos. The iSimple Gateway Automotive Media
Interface also offers an auxiliary input for connection of other portable audio
devices to your factory stereo. In addition the iSimple ISSB571 can be connected to the iSimple HD Radio tuner (sold separately). The iSimple Gateway Automotive Media Interface provides full control of these
connected devices (except Auxiliary) through your vehicle's factory installed
radio and steering wheel controls.
Note: You can only connect two of the supported devices
(iPod/iPhone, Auxiliary, or HD Radio).
Vehicle Compatibility: The iSimple Gateway Automotive Media Interface
(ISSB571) is compatible with the select 2008-2010 Subaru vehicles
equipped with a factory radio which supports Satellite Radio. The
Subaru factory radio must have a "SAT" button. The iSimple Gateway ISSB571 is compatible
with the following Subaru vehicles (as of September 2010).

Note: Vehicle's equipped with factory
satellite radio will need the satellite radio tuner disconnected at the
tuner location in order for this unit to function. Please use the
Crutchfield Car Selector to verify compatibility with your vehicle.
Made for iPod/iPhone Compatible: The iSimple Gateway Automotive Media
Interface (ISSB571) features an 11' iPod/iPhone cable to connect your Apple iPod
or iPhone to your compatible Subaru factory radio. The iSimple
Gateway ISSB571 supports audio playback, browsing controls, information display,
and charging of your Apple iPod or iPhone through your factory radio. You can
also control your connected iPod/iPhone from your factory steering wheel
controls or choose to continue to use your iPod/iPhone's clickwheel or
touchscreen. You are able to browse your iPod/iPhone's music, by Artist, Album,
Genre, and Playlist in alphabetical order. The iSimple ISNIS571 is "made for
iPod/iPhone" compatible and supports the following iPod/iPhone functions (as of
September 2010).

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change
functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may
need to reset the factory headunit and your iPod/iPhone to regain
functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to revert to the older
software version or wait until a newer software update is available.
HD Radio Ready: The iSimple Gateway ISSB571 allows you to listen to HD
Radio in your vehicle by connecting the iSimple HD Radio Tuner (Model #
HDRT,
sold separately from manufacture). Once the HD Radio tuner is connected, the iSimple Gateway
module offers HD Radio audio playback, control, and information display from
your factory radio.
Auxiliary Input: The iSimple Gateway Automotive Media Interface is
equipped with a right-angle male 3.5mm stereo connector and a pair of female
stereo RCA jacks for connecting an external portable audio device, which features
an audio output or headphone output.
Note: Only one device can be connected to the unit's auxiliary
input at one time.
Dip Switches: The iSimple Gateway ISSB571 features four dip
switches to configure the module for your compatible Subaru vehicle.
Vehicle Harness: You will need to disconnect the
Subaru factory radio's harness and plug the iSimple Gateway's vehicle harness
into the back of the Subaru factory radio. The Subaru
factory radio's harness then plugs into the iSimple Gateway's vehicle harness.
