This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you don't know how to use a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors that you'll use to attach the Crutchfield harness to your factory harness.

Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness makes installing your new stereo easier, and allows you to put the factory radio back when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days.

Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.

Features

Crutchfield Wiring Harness: Crutchfield wiring harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the Crutchfield wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the Crutchfield wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Wiring Notes: If the Crutchfield wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required and sold separately.

Easy to use and comes with a clearly labeled wiring diagram. This is the first install I've done in 20 years, and it made it a lot easier being able to wire the harness to the stereo before beginning the actual installation. Definitely recommend!

Pros:

Good quality connector. Clear instructions and wiring diagram. Keeps the car's wiring harness intact.

Fits nice, ample size leads to work with. Only thing is the wire for dimming lights that is on the factory harness is not on this one. Not really needed in most applications anyway, just thought it was noteworthy.

This harness made wiring in my stereo incredibly easy, and it fit perfectly. The factory connector was a perfect match. The harness on my new stereo unplugs from the head unit, so it was simple to wire the two harnesses together completely out of the car, then just plug them both into their matching recepticles. The only difficulty I had was telling the green wires from the gray wires on this harness. I'm a tad color blind, and these two wire colors looked a lot alike at first. The wires on the stereo harness were much more clearly green and gray. That was just a minor problem, though it could have lead to a lot of headaches later.

The harness is a great fit. I wish that Crutchfield would look into getting harnesses that would have a universal 16 pin (2x8) harness at the opposite end of the vehicle harness, that would really sweeten the deal. I take the time to add insulated female clips to each wire so if I need to take out the stereo for any reason I don't need to cut any wires, and I can add a different stereo with ease if I want. It take a bit of time, but in my opinion it's worth it. As always nothing but great service from Crutchfield!!

We ended up not needing this connector because of the previous installation cut the wires.

BUT! This is the same connector I used on my Toyota Celica installation and with the wires that are very similar to the wires on the aftermarket radio harness it makes wiring a breeze. I solder all my wires for a more reliable connection but still tend to use black tape as an insulator (to protect against shorting out the wires on ground).

Ease of wire colors and simple to read instructions give this product 5 stars.
