Video: Audyssey Media Dock

Tara: We're here checking out Audyssey's audio dock and we're just gonna learn a little bit about it today. So, what can you tell us?

Audyssey: The primary focus of the dock is connection to an iPod or an iPhone via 30 pin. It works with any device over any of the generations. Additionally, through the connectivity, we offer Bluetooth wireless, so any Bluetooth device, particularly a mobile device, can connect with the dock and you can stream music wirelessly. Now Bluetooth has a secondary feature as well. On the unit we have microphones in the front and on the back so when you're paired via Bluetooth and you receive a phone call on your IOS enabled device the dock actually shifts from music mode into phone mode and it works as a conference phone. So now I can take the call, I can answer it, and immediately I can have a one-on-one dialogue with anybody on the other end. It works via Face Time and if you connect to the computer you can actually use it for Skype or any other voice over IP calling service.

The construction of the unit itself is pretty involved. We have two ¾" tweeters, two 4 ½' drivers and two passive radiators. Now on the secondary side as we talk about fitting into the desktop environment, we do offer USB and analog connections. With USB, when your iPhone's docked you can sync to iTunes and charge and with the analog mini-jack connection the dock also doubles as a computer speaker. So it's really one device that connects to many of your mobile and computer devices to really focus to where your content is.

Tara: So one speaker connects to iPod, iPhone, any phone really. Connects to your computer and sounds absolutely great.
