    Overview: The Nikon WU-1b is a plug-in wireless mobile adapter that allows you to connect your compatible Nikon DSLR camera to your Wi-Fi-equipped smartphone, tablet, or other smart device. Through the wireless connection, you can automatically load photos and videos to your device as you take them, use your smart device to remotely take photos on the camera, or download existing pictures from the camera's memory card to your device. Once you have downloaded images to your smartphone, you can share them via email, texts, or social networking sites. The WU-1b plugs into the camera's USB/AV connection.

    Compatibility: The WU-1b is compatible with the Nikon D600, and the Nikon 1 models J3, S1, and V2.

    Wi-Fi Specification: The WU-1b is compatible with a wireless LAN operating on IEEE 802.11b/g/n. The maximum range is approximately 33-49 feet.

    Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility: The Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility application must be installed on the smart device before it can be used with the WU-1b. The app is compatible with smartphones running Android 2.3, 3.x, 4.x or later, and tablets with Android platform 3.0 or later. The app can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play. The Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility application also compatible with iPhone and iPad with iOS versions 5.1 or 5.1.1. For the iOS mobile platform, the app can be downloaded free of charge from the iTunes online store.

    Awesome adapter

    Contrary to many other reviews on different sites, this device works quite well. I shot a wrestling event that lasted 2 hours plus to an Ipod. 421 images and never had a problem. I use Shuttersnitch and find it for me to be a better app than the Nikon freebie. Occasionally it will loose conection but for the price, what do you expect.
    Pros:
    Works well with OnOne Software remote for the Ipad. Camera must be tethered to a laptop to work but OnOne can change camera settings
    Cons:
    Doesn't transfer fast. Nikon App is limited but free
